Liverpool were eliminated from the League Cup due to a 2-1 loss sustained at Arsenal's Ashburton
Grove home, but Rafael Benitez has insisted that the defeat will not dilute the feel-good factor
that engulfed Anfield following the Manchester United win at the weekend.
Pass-master Fran Merida opened the scoring in the first-half with a long-range effort, but the
visitors levelled the game with an equally impressive shot from Emiliano Insua.

Most fans in France barely tolerate Raymond Domenech but he has found one in Catherine Renger, a
well known chanteur who gives him a dose of unabashed adulation with her song Le Kiffe Raymond ( I
fancy Raymond). The lyrics are unlike Leonard Cohen to be sure.
Go on Raymond, you're handsome, you're good
And I imagine just one golden match and then everyone would adore you
And if he attacked my penalty areas I would be without defenders
A transfer, a good pass and long live our colours
Yeah, you're good, you're classy

Reports surfacing today suggest that Rafa Benitez and Javier Mascherano are going to clash over

Since the start of the new season, there has hardly been week go by that hasn't seen a full
roster of midweek matches take place. This, however, hasn't ever been thus and until surprisingly
recently football under floodlights was all but barred by the Football Association. Much as many of
us feel that three o'clock on a Saturday afternoon is the "natural" home for matches, there remains
something special about matches played in the evening.
