It appears that the Colorado Rapids' Scottish striker Tom "Tam" McManus is back in
Scotland looking to hook up with a club. He's training with Patrick Thistle and has been linked
with Kilmarnock.
The draft has come and gone, and if that didn't make yesterday exciting enough, Mo Johnston said on
the Fan 590 soccer show that he is in negotiations with an experienced South American striker. In
fact, he tells Gerry Dobson that the striker is 90% locked up. I highly doubt it will be a DP
striker, and I have no idea who he is.
Here are the official Colorado Rapids Home and Away Soccer Jerseys from adidas for the
2009/10 MLS season. They feature contrasting adidas sublimated stripes and a new fold-over collar.
Both jerseys feature the embroidered team badge and adidas logo across the chest. The
MLS patch is over right sleeve, so you know it's a genuine MLS team jersey.
DeRo Day has come and gone, and it's time to focus on filling some holes - mainly that huge on in
our defense. Yesterday, Mo Johnston said he was looking at a kid in England to come over. Could he
be referring to Canadian David Edgar? There is also rumours that Mo will look for a CB within the
league.
Chad Becker nearly wasn't a 'keeper at all, he'll be at our Open Tryout in March.
Our second game of the season makes Jeff Bradley's First XI list of top games of the first three
months of the season. He says that our trip to Colorado highlights two teams that will need to show
early this year whether they are (in our case) a contender or (in Colorado's case) a
playoff-caliber team.
Here is my write up at The Touchline. Is it time to start thinking MLS Network?
Good evening folks. I am coming to you from St. Louis, which is experiencing downright Arctic
conditions right now (at least it feels that way after four days in sunny Florida).
Tonight is the night when most of the big trades surrounding the MLS Draft will take place and
there are few scenes more entertaining than the one at the league's hotel bar on the night before
the draft.
Christian Gomez is out of favor in Colorado and is clearly on the trading block.
Marcelo Gallardo, DC United's designated player and playmaker is entering contract exit talks. He
will be joining up with Argentine side River Plate.
The 33 year-old Argentine arrived before the 2008 season, and scored 4 goals and 3 assists in 15
league matches before a hernia operation sidelined him for the rest of the season.

From Tribal Football:
The 2009 MLS Draft has had a major effect on who may be between the posts for Colorado
in 2009.
Chicago Fire have traded the rights to goalkeeper Matt Pickens to the Colorado Rapids in a trade
that include second-round picks in the Super Draft.
Yesterday the 2009 Major League Soccer regular season schedule was announced. We already knew
