Major League Soccer will play it's 15th season in 2010 as exclusive kit supplier Adidas enter into
year five of a ten year partnership with Major League Soccer. Several MLS teams will be receiving
an all new wardrobe courtesy of the '3 Stripes' while others will have to make do with last years
outfits.
From this video it sure sounds like it (3m in).
Currently FC Dallas holds the top spot in the allocation order. Buzz Carrick from 3rd Degree
wants it done, can you blame him? I wonder if Dallas would really pass on him if he came back to
the league. I also wonder if he'd be enough to get Dallas back into the playoff hunt this season
(doubtful).
Last July, the Colorado Rapids unveiled their rarely used 2008/09 third kit with the help of what
appears to be a local modeling group. Since then, more pictures from the kit's presentation have
become available. Here's a better look at the adidas 2008-09 third kit / jersey with the help of
some friends.
A full write-up of last night's 1-0 win over Toronto coming in the next day or so, but I wanted to
post this ASAP. Deron White from the Colorado Rapids Examiner told me that he saw National Team
winger DaMarcus Beasley walking around the stadium with Cory Gibbs at tonight's game. Beasley is
currently riding the bench with Rangers in Scotland.
Hola amigos! We all have heard about the new NASL and hope it will one day reach the glory of the
old league back in the 70's and 80's. So Burrito read NASL is looking for a Commissioner. Burrito
decide to make a list to help out all the TOA owners make decision on the best candidates out there
so they can size them up.
After almost 2 months of games, Major League Soccer has seen a significant drop in attendance in
several key markets. Is this reason for concern, a sign of today's struggling economy, or are
serious changes needed in these cities. First, let's look at which teams and markets are showing
significant drops in attendances numbers from last season.
First kick is creeping close and closer. Just around 10 hours away. Before that, I'd like to
introduce our newest feature here on MLS Offside - the Power Rankings. Starting today and going
through the season, we'll put together a weekly poll amongst the team bloggers still need help on
that too and [.
Attention Rapids fans: Jackie Chan is coming to a football pitch near you.
We hadn't actually signed Gregory Richardson, but we had his rights via the Discovery Claim. Last
week, it seemed like he was going to be offered a contract with us, but it turns out he'll likely
be calling Dick Sporting Goods Park his new home.
The MLS season opens with fireworks Thursday night for the Seattle Sounders inaugural game at Qwest
field against New York Red Bulls. The Seattle Sounders management did everything right to create a
model club, including stealing 2008 MLS Cup Champion coach Sigi Schmid from Columbus Crew. The
supporters group, FC Alliance can vote out the [.
The new kids of the block finally have some spots filled on their roster today as the 2009
Expansion Draft is complete with Philadelphia Union selecting their first 10 players. Some names
won't shock you while others may leave you guessing what Peter Nowak and company have up their
sleeve.

Five clubs escaped without losing anyone: Real Salt Lake, Dallas, Toronto, Houston and Kansas
City.
In weeks past, we've met the EPL blogs and those "other" blogs. Now in preparation for
the upcoming 2009 season, it's time for a look at our MLS blogs. At the bottom, there's a list of
the MLS blogs that are currently unmanned and in need of some TLC. If you have [...]
After a lackluster start, the Houston Dynamo are now atop of this week's MLS power rankings
after winning 5 of 6 and moving into 2nd in the Western Conference. Chicago had an up and down week
with a win at Chivas on Thursday but a terrible loss to Dallas on the weekend. In other games, San
Jose were able to pick up a much needed win, the Galaxy earn yet another draw, and New England got
a win over DC at home.
Here's the back story: Obama visited Brazil yesterday and received a football shirt by the
country's president.
According to Obama, the President said, "I told them we're not gonna give up a 2 goal lead
again."
According to The Telegraph in the UK, Obama said, "we will not lose a 2 point lead again.
The Major League Soccer regular season is finished and the playoffs are starting this week. It
was an interesting regular season which included new franchise Seattle making the playoffs and
leading the league in home attendance. Other clubs such as the New York Red Bulls struggled all
year and were the worst team in the league.
It appears that the Colorado Rapids' Scottish striker Tom "Tam" McManus is back in
Scotland looking to hook up with a club. He's training with Patrick Thistle and has been linked
with Kilmarnock.
pWith the opening of the Major League Soccer season coming this weekend, it#8217;s time for me to
get caught up with the comings and goings on the MLS rosters. In particular, what#8217;s up with
the goalkeepers that strongMissouri State/strong has sent to the major leagues. But before I dive
into those details, a quick updated on a new prospect.
As the Major League Soccer season reaches its 2nd month, several teams are showing they are
early favorites. Chivas USA continues its impressive early form while FC Dallas once again
disappointed. Here are the MLS rankings for Week 5.
- Chivas USA - Playing in the same city as the Galaxy often makes Chivas go
under the radar, but they are right now the best team in MLS.
It was a full week of games in Major League Soccer, with several teams playing 2 games. A few
teams have climbed up the rankings, most noticably Kansas City, Toronto, and Real Salt Lake. Those
on the decline are New England and New York. Here are the weekly Major League Soccer rankings as of
April 27, 2009.
I gave myself the better part of two days before committing this Galaxy-FCD postmortem to the
foreverness of the internets because I wanted to get past the bitter taste of frustration lingering
in my mouth after Saturday's excursion to Frisco. I wanted to see if that would change what I had
to say.
It was another typically bizarre weekend full of MLS action. Some aspects were usual dubious
refereeing leading to late game winners, physical play, red cards, and draws. Other results came
from no where namely Dallas defeating Chicago at Toyota Park.
Hard to say anything new about officiating in this league.
Press release from the Rapids issued late Friday: The Colorado Rapids announced
today the club has waived forward Gregory Richardson.
Richardson appeared in one game for the Rapids this season playing 11 minutes in the season opener
against Chivas USA on March 21. He also played the full 90 minutes in Colorado's U.
The standings continue to change in Major League Soccer as teams go through hot and cold streaks
in the long season. Seattle is now back in the number one spot, which they held for the first few
weeks of the season, and other teams like the LA Galaxy are finally starting to get some wins. The
East remains very crowded while New York is now 14 points out of a playoff spot.
Very interesting development this afternoon if it is indeed true. According to Steve Goff former
MLSer Danny Szetela is set to return to Major League Soccer. Goff said that his sources tell him
that the 22-year old midfielder has signed a contract with the league and is awaiting allocation by
the front office.
The draft has come and gone, and if that didn't make yesterday exciting enough, Mo Johnston said on
the Fan 590 soccer show that he is in negotiations with an experienced South American striker. In
fact, he tells Gerry Dobson that the striker is 90% locked up. I highly doubt it will be a DP
striker, and I have no idea who he is.
Here are the official Colorado Rapids Home and Away Soccer Jerseys from adidas for the
2009/10 MLS season. They feature contrasting adidas sublimated stripes and a new fold-over collar.
Both jerseys feature the embroidered team badge and adidas logo across the chest. The
MLS patch is over right sleeve, so you know it's a genuine MLS team jersey.
DeRo Day has come and gone, and it's time to focus on filling some holes - mainly that huge on in
our defense. Yesterday, Mo Johnston said he was looking at a kid in England to come over. Could he
be referring to Canadian David Edgar? There is also rumours that Mo will look for a CB within the
league.
Back in January, we gave you a good look at the Colorado Rapids 2009/10 home and away
jerseys. Now here's a look at the newly-redesigned jerseys for the Colorado Rapids' 2009
campaign via the Rapids' marketing photo shoot for this year. One new item to note is that the
Rapids' authentic jerseys feature a special '5280′ on [.
A lot can change after one weekend of play. The Red Bulls came crashing down to the basement, while
the expansion Sounders enjoy a lofty ranking after a cracking debut last Thursday. The entire
rankings are available after the jump. And don't forget to have your say below! 1. Chicago Fire
Record: 1-0-0 Previous: 2 2.
Received by email from a loyal reader:
During in-game commentary from Rapids on-field commentator, Peter Ruttgaizer, he mentioned that
the Rapids had narrowed the field down to two possible shirt sponsors and should have one chosen
very soon. Have you heard anything?

While keeping track of my regular stats that I always do after every match, I realized that the
Wizards are very close to scoring their 600th league goal and their 700th in all competitions.
Currently the Wizards have scored 588 goals in MLS play, which puts them in 7th place overall. They
are in a race with New York (596) and New England (593) to become the 5th team to hit the 600th
league goal mark.
(Summary is not available.)
The Major League Soccer season is nearing the half-way point and the Houston Dynamo continue
their hot streak to stay atop this week's power rankings. Columbus and Los Angeles both got much
needed wins on the road and Chivas continues it dominance in the Western Conference. Overall, the
Eastern Conference is extremely close with 6 teams within 6 points of each other.

Time once again to close the books on another week in Major League Soccer with another edition
of the power rankings. A decent amount of movement this week in the rankings. Some clubs in the
middle of the table are making things very interesting.
I still view Houston as the top club despite the loss on the road to Seattle.
It was an interesting week in Major League Soccer as there was a light schedule because of many
teams playing friendlies against the top European clubs. The LA Galaxy played AC Milan and Seattle
Sounders FC hosted English Premier League club Chelsea FC. Here's the latest MLS Power Rankings
through Monday July 20, 2009.
Ely Allen and now teammate Fred.
Loyal MLSR readers will already find this as 'old news' as it appeared as a very credible rumor
here in the wee hours Thursday morning. But now it is official...
From DC United:
D.C. United signs midfielder Ely Allen
Allen serves as replacement for Brandon Barklage
on roster
Washington, D.
Yes indeed there is a new number one this week. I decided that you just can't be the top team in
the land and lose to New York. You just can't, so the Columbus Crew had to get bump down. So did
the Chicago Fire and the Houston Dynamo, who both lost this past week. The club who got the nod at
the top is kind of shocking based on how things started out this season.
A few of you have been wondering where the MLS Allocation Order stands now that FC Dallas has
(finally) used their top spot to sign Heath Pearce.
Now the Rapids have the top spot. With very little bit left in the season I doubt Rapids or
anyone remotely below them will be able to use their spots in the order.
Our last column, inspired at 2AM, carefully selected winners for MLS season openers. Some were
slightly off, and today we discuss why these results went topsy and what to expect down the road.
1) NY Red Bulls @ Seattle Sounders Result: Seattle 3-0 New York Prediction: New York 3-2 Seattle
Excuse: Seattle is a strong team, Sigi Schmid [.
So the black and gold have had a rough start to the season so far. Injuries have plagued the
Crew so far, along with some unlucky bounces. Right now, the team needs every supporter more than
ever, including those Crew supporters that are lucky enough to wear short skirts, use pom-poms, and
perform half time dance shows that most of Columbus Crew Stadium mocks.
