Just when the Colorado Rapids needed a win the most to hold serve in the Western Conference
playoff race, they came up short once again.
Despite a late goal off a corner kick from defender Drew Moor, the Rapids' winless streak was
stretched to five games as they tied the San Jose Earthquakes, 1-1, in front of their home
fans.

The Colorado Rapids and FC Dallas have a couple of things in common these days.
Both 2010 MLS Cup finalists are looking to avoid backing into the playoffs after recent dips in
form, and both are seeking CONCACAF Champions League victories Wednesday night that would set them
up in a decent position heading into the final games of the group stage.
Not even an opponent scoring three goals can stop the red-hot Seattle Sounders these days.
Behind goals from Alvaro Fernandez, Roger Levesque, Fredy Montero and Mauro Rosales, the
Sounders knocked off the defending champion Colorado Rapids 4-3 at home on Saturday in a thrilling
match. Seattle had to come back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits, just as they had against Portland last
Sunday.

Easing six goals into past the hapless Toronto defense is no way to prepare for the rough and
tough Colorado Rapids. With a chance to earn their first two match road winning streak, Peter Nowak
handed Jack McInerney his first start of the year and rewarded Gabe Farfan with a second straight
appearance in the first team.
Mid week games are always fun for the fans, more soccer means more fun. Some teams lament them
because of rest and travel preceding weekend games. Can't blame them there. Last night though fans
were treated to some fun games.

to come under the control of American Owners. Long-time shareholder Stan Kroenke, Owner of Kroenke
Sports Enterprises, secured a deal with the Gunners board of Directors to take majority control of
the side.
The University of Denver women's soccer team's spring schedule includes regional rival Air Force
at home, as well as a tournament at Wyoming that features the Cowboys, Colorado and Northern
Colorado, head coach Jeff Hooker announced.
"We have put together our most challenging spring season thus far and are excited for the
opportunity to grow as a team," Hooker said.
