This is one of my favourite World Cup moments, mostly because it features two iconic footballers. First there's the legendary Roger Milla. The 38 year old striker who came out of retirement to play for Cameroon at the 1990 World Cup, after receiving a persuasive phone call from Cameroon's President Paul Biya.

Could celebrated Argentine club River Plate be planning to bolster their defense by bringing in an established player from Major League Soccer? That seems to be exactly what they are attempting, as reports have linked River with Real Salt Lake defender Jamison Olave in recent days. The 28-year-old could help reinforce the club's backline ahead of the upcoming Torneo Clausura after they stumbled to a less-than-impressive 14th-place finish in the 2009 Apertura.

Beneath that frankly disgraceful hairstyle I've named it 'The Poodle Roadkill' there lies one of the hardest midfielders ever to play in a World Cup finals. Leonel Alvarez played for Colombia at the 1990 and 1994 World Cups and remains a cult figure in his nation's football history, with 101 international caps to his name only former team-mate Carlos Valderrama (a Horror Hair legend) has more.

Call him sweet-hair Stephane.
As Thad told you the other night, Stephane Auvray is joining the Wizards. So too, is Pablo Escobar. Not that Pablo Escobar...Pablo Andres Escobar, a 22-year-old central defender from Colombia. Well, the country is the same, but he's not related to the former drug kingpin.
