Bob Bradley's annual January camp does not open until next week, but the U.S.
Club Social y Deportivo Colo-Colo (commonly called Colo Colo) is one of Chile's most popular and
successful soccer teams. It has won a record number of national titles (29) and is the only Chilean
team to have won the Copa Libertadores. Colo Colo missed winning last season's Primera División de
Chile championship by three points.
Stellar...
Chile, with both it's coaching situation unsettled as well as its roster, brings an exclusively
national league collection of players to face Bob Bradley's crew January 22nd at HDC in Carson,
California.
It's a small squad with only 16 players currently named, with six of those players coming from
the famed Club Social y Deportivo Colo-Colo which probably has one of the best team emblems you've
seen (right) named after a legendary chief of the Mapuche tribe.
Chile has announced a squad of 16 domestic-based players that will prepare for the Jan. 22 match
against the United States at The Home Depot Center. Coached by Marcelo Bielsa, who led Chile to the
Round of 16 of the 2010 FIFA World Cup where they fell to Brazil, the team began gathering for
training today.

The Copa Del Rey Semifinals are all set with Barcelona taking on Almeria, and Sevilla facing Real
Madrid.
-Yes that does set up nicely for a Barca v Real final!

The Asian Cup begins Quarterfinals on Friday, and Copa Centroamericana steps into the Semifinal
Rounds then too.
Tomorrow night (or evening for those on the West Coast) the United States January camp team will
take the pitch against Chile in a friendly where both sides are lacking all of their biggest
stars. Chile is a good South American squad, normally second-tier behind countries like Brazil
and Argentina, but with their former coach leading the team and not bringing many starters, this is
a tough match to judge how far the U.
So far no media availability for Coach Marcelo Bielsa has been announced ahead of the 7 p.m.
Saturday game at Home Depot Center, incidentally:
SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) -- Chile President Sebastian Pinera wants Marcelo Bielsa to remain
as the national team coach, a job the Argentine said two months ago he would leave when Jorge
Segovia was elected head of the national soccer association.

Edson Buddle scored a goal in the 78th minute of his German debut with Ingolstadt against fellow
American, goalkeeper David Yelldell. Unfortunately they gave up a late goal and only got a 1-1
tie.

Japan scored 2 goals down a man and trailing to beat Qatar 3-2 in the Asian Cup Quarterfinals
today.
A very young and inexperienced U.S. side showed a lot of heart in coming back to draw 1-1 with
Chile. Esteban Paredes scored the opening goal of the match for Chile early in the second half
while Teal Bunbury equalized from the spot late in the match.
As expected Bob Bradley continued to look for new faces for the national team as seven MLS-based
Americans; Eric Alexander, Sean Franklin, Jeff Larentowicz, Zach Loyd, Sean Johnson, Chris
Wondolowski and Anthony Wallace, all earned their first senior-team caps.
