A name familiar to the Minnesotan soccer community has been appointed to the top coaching position
with the NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America). Ian Barker, former MYSA Director
of Coaching and currently Region II US ODP Assistant Head Coach and Macalaster College Men's head
coach has been named Director of Coaching for the [.
Sam Ramirez, who was an assistant for the Madison College men's soccer team last season,
is the WolfPack's new coach.
He replaces Jeff Richardson, who stepped down after a nine-year stint and 12 seasons
overall at the school.
The Creighton Blue Jays are joined by the Bradley Braves today in receiving NCAA bids. The 48
team field was announced at 3:30 pm today via NCAA.com and includes the two Missouri Valley teams.
Creighton received the overall #2 seed, behind North Carolina who won their Conference championship
on Sunday over Boston College, who enter the tournament as the fourth seed.
The top-seeded Missouri State men's soccer team (9-7-2, 5-1-0 MVC) played its way into the 2011
State Farm Missouri Valley Conference championship match with a 2-0 shutout of Drake at Morrison

The MIAA has announced that it will add men's soccer as a conference sport, effective with the
2012 fall season. Fort Hays State University, Lindenwood University, Northeastern State University,
Southwest Baptist University and Truman State University will all field men's soccer teams in
2012.
Additionally the MIAA announced that is has extended invitations to Harding University, Southern
Nazarene University and Upper Iowa University to begin the process to become Associate Members of

The Edgewood College men's and women's teams both had mixed results this week, winning Northern
Athletics Conference matches during the week and losing to Aurora on Saturday in Illinois.
Freshman Kelmend Isaj (Monroe) scored his team-best fourth goal of the season
on an odd play in the 80th minute Wednesday as the Eagles got past Wisconsin Lutheran 2-1 in an NAC
match at Breese Stevens Field.
Adams State College men's soccer has marked a lot of firsts in the team's brief history. On
Friday night, the Grizzlies grabbed several firsts as the team recorded its most goals, largest
margin of victory, first shutout and first visit to a .500 record.
Hawken Hanna scored the first goal and what would prove to be the game winner in the 6th minute
as the Grizzlies dominated the UT-Permian Basin Falcons, 4-0, at ASC Soccer Field.

The forward came off the bench for the Edgewood College men's team in Friday night's season
opener and scored on a 20-yard shot with his first touch. Isaj added another goal just before
halftime and senior goalkeeper Kyle Koenig (Sheboygan South) made two saves as the
Eagles blanked Lawrence 3-0 at Breese Stevens Field.
The Madison College men's soccer team had a rough opening week to the season, dropping three
matches and conceding 21 goals in the process.

On the way to St Louis today (I'm officially a former resident of Springfield) I stopped by my alma
mater in Rolla to catch the early evening practice for the Miner's. The squad, led by GLVC Coach of
the Year Joe Ahearn, visits Springfield on Thursday evening for an exhibition match against the
Missouri State Bears.
Ger Coppinger
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Missouri State men's soccer head coach Jon Leamy announced today the hiring of
Ger Coppinger as the team's new assistant coach. Coppinger takes over for David Stockton who
accepted a similar position at Cal State Monterey Bay this spring.
"Ger is a great addition to the Missouri State soccer program," stated Leamy.
Drury men's soccer coach Ryan Swan has announced a nine-player recruiting class of incoming
Panthers for the 2011 season.
The Panthers are coming off an 11-7-0 campaign in 2010 that included a 9-5 record in Great Lakes
Valley Conference competition, but lost 12 graduating seniors off that squad.

The men's programs at Missouri State and Drury have gotten together to host a series of Spring
matches the next two weekends at their respective pitches.
This Saturday, April 2nd, the Missouri State Bears play host at Plaster Stadium.
