Liverpool loanee Joe Cole has once again reiterated his desire to return to International
football.Cole, who is in the midst of a successful loan spell with Lille, enthused:"Without a
doubt, I'd love to play for England again."You can't talk yourself into the England squad though.
They come and watch you play, and if they like what they see, they'll pick you.
Lille President Michael Seydoux made clear earlier in week that the Ligue 1 club is interested in
signing Joe Cole on a permanent basis. The former Chelsea midfielder has been in great form of late
and a move would definitely make sense, but according to Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish, nothing
is happening re a potential transfer at the moment.
When Joe Cole arrived at Anfield, he was heralded by many as the apparent missing link in
Liverpool's formation. According to Roy Hodgson, senior players like Steven Gerrard and Jamie
Carragher had endorsed the signing, and were excited about what Cole could bring to the team. Alas,
it just didn't work out for the former Chelsea player, and looking back now, Cole - who is now at
Lille - has regrets about making the decision to come to Anfield.
