As I have written and rewritten this entry, I thought back to 1996. I wish it was because I was
thinking about the birth of MLS. Instead, I was thinking about a piece I wrote (that for the life
of me I cannot find anywhere on the internet) about the Phish scene that I was so heavily involved
in.
The FA have suspended and fined West Ham manager Avram Grant for his post-match comments after
the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Stoke City last month.
Grant has been given a touchline ban for two matches and has also been fined a total of £6,000
by the FA. The ban will commence with immediate effect meaning that he will be in the stands for
the crunch games away to Bolton and home against Aston Villa.
Now that they have finished with Sir Alex, the FA has turned its attention to West Ham boss
Avram Grant, charging him improper conduct following comments he made about match official Mike
Jones after his side's 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Stoke at the weekend.
After the match Grant hit out at Jones' handling of the second half, which began with Stoke
being awarded a penalty just 13 seconds after the restart.
