After a solid two seasons at the University of Virginia, American winger Cobi Span is excited to
begin his professional career with Djurgarden's in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
The blog that follows UVA sports, Streaking the Lawn, is reporting that Virginia sophomore
winger Brian "Cobi" Span signed a contract today with Djurgarden IF of Sweden's
top flight, Allsvenkan.

According to Ives Galarcap of Fox Soccer, Span is ranked as the 7th best player on
the 2012 MLS Draft Big Board.
One of college soccer's top attacking talents is headed overseas.
After not being offered a Generation adidas deal by MLS, University of Virginia winger Brian
"Cobi" Span signed with Swedish club Djurgarden on Tuesday. Djurgarden had also offered former
Akron and current GA striker Darren Mattocks a deal before he ultimately signed with MLS.
The 2012 MLS Draft is less than a month away and Major League Soccer has secured the services of
the two highest-rated prospects coming out of college this year.
Sources have told Fox Soccer that Duke standout Andrew Wenger and Akron star Darren Mattocks
have signed Generation adidas contracts, with MLS expected to announce the first of its Generation
adidas signings on Tuesday.
With the 2011 season officially over and the Expansion Draft having come and gone we've begun to
see many trades and player movements throughout MLS, including our own Portland Timbers who have
dropped a number of players and are bringing on a new DP in the coming days/weeks.
But with all that done, there's still one huge event looming on the horizon: the 2012 MLS
SuperDraft.

Reading United scored four second half goals in route to a 5-1 victory over the visiting Central
