Liverpool are believed to be interested in signing Roma forward Bojan Krkic in what could be a
complicated deal as the youngster has a number of clauses in his contract.
Bojan was allowed to leave Barcelona in order to join the Italian side where former Barca coach
Luis Enrique was becoming the manager, however, a number of clauses where inserted into his deal.
Champions League final hosts Bayern Munich are favorites to beat Chelsea at their home ground,
but if they do win, their prize money will be going into the pockets of Bundesliga rivals Schalke
and Hoffenheim.
UEFA will pay Bayern a €9 million prize if they beat Chelsea, which also happens to be the
combined total due in "success" clauses written into last summer's deal to bring goalkeeper Manuel
Neuer from Schalke and the previous January's acquisition of Luiz Gustavo from Hoffenheim.

Liverpool: Did buying British cost Comolli his job? is a post from: Just Football
Since taking over at Liverpool Kenny Dalglish has spent almost £100 million on
buying the 'best' of British players within the Premier League in a bid to
instigate an overhaul of Liverpool and return them to their former glory.
Much speculation surrounds Newcastle United's Demba Ba with rumours of release clauses, interested
clubs and new contract offers from Newcastle. So will Demba Ba still be at Newcastle United next
season? Demba Ba has been hailed as the Premiership's best buy of the season. This and his 16 goals
for us this season has obviously [.

- Annual QPR Player of the Year Dinner?
Clint Dempsey's record-setting season may have him on the verge of a summer transfer to a bigger
club, but if it's up to Fulham, he'll be staying at Craven Cottage for at least a few more
years.
Fulham has reportedly begun talks with Dempsey -- who turns 29 today -- over a new three-year
deal in an effort to hold onto their marquee attacker.
It seems that even if AVB tells the board that he wants us to meet the minimum fee release clause
in Alvaro Pereira's contract, Porto are determined to hold onto him.
The Porto president, Pinto Da Costa has told Chelsea to simply forget about making any moves for
the player as he won't be sold.
With a team that is top of the table, a new manager that has just won the Manager Of The Month
award for his division and a winnable FA Cup tie coming up in a couple of weeks, these should be
happy times for the supporters of Wrexham Football Club. As regular readers will be aware, however,
very little at The Racecourse Ground is as it seems and the proposed take-over of the club by the
Wrexham Supporters Trust (WST) has now hit the buffers again over clauses relating to liability for
outstanding debts, which are being treated so seriously by the Football Association and the
Football Conference that, once again, the WST take-over of the club might not go through.
Luca Modric is set to become Tottenham's highest earning player if he puts pen to paper in a new
and improved contract that will see him stay at White Hart Lane until 2017.
Word doing the rounds claim that Tottenham are willing to make the Croat an offer he simply
cannot refuse. According to Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy, the club opened talks with Modric two
weeks ago to try and entice the 26 year old to remain at White Hart Lane.
My interest in the topic of this blog began as I was scrolling through the usual baseless rumors
about various transfer targets. I found a rumor about a young player in the Barca youth system
named Gerard Deulofeu. Naturally, since I'm a donkey at all of this, I'd never heard of him,
despite the fact that he's the "next Messi" and all that.
It hasn't always been about the Champions League and domestic doubles for Chelsea Football Club.
The club's saga over its ownership of Stamford Bridge was at a time during which it had nothing
like the status that it has today one of the ongoing crisis stories of the 1980s, but the club was
(after the collapse of Marler Estates in 1992) reunited with the freehold to the ground and
subsequently set up the Chelsea Pitch Owners, a non-profit organisation which took ownership of
this freehold and the name of the club, and granted it a 199-year lease on Stamford Bridge, which
secured the club's future even though the ground stands on one of the more sought-after areas of
London a city that has seen a fair few football grounds disappear in the name of property
development in recent years.
Yesterday was something of a rarity a transfer deadline day with not only action, but action of
the spectacular kind. Of course it was required, but few of us actually believed that significant
numbers would come through the door. I said earlier in the week that we needed three players, at a
minimum a centre back, a creative central midfielder and a striker.
Huge day for Stole City as they spent around £20million, including a club-record fee of
£10million for Spurs striker Peter Crouch. In addition to Crouch, Stoke also signed midfielder
Wilson Palacios and forward Cameron Jerome. The Crouch deal could even rise to £12million
dependent on the fulfilment of various clauses.

Craig Bellamy looks to be returning to Liverpool from Man City on a free-transfer.
The talented Welsh striker, now aged 32, is reported across the media in saying that returning to
Liverpool again as "A dream come true."
The only stumbling block appears to be his remaining one year's contract at Man City where his
incredible £95,000 a week wages need to be paid by one or other of the clubs concerned.

year-old Stade Brest striker The 23 year-old Roux is said to have one of those release clauses in
his contract at his current club Stade Brest, and can leave when another club offers £8M for him.

For the purpose of our Football League reviews, we will be taking a look at the respective
divisions in an overall sense rather than trying to make predictions or inspecting the clubs
concerned too closely. If you are here looking for in-depth predictions made by the supporters of
each of the seventy-two clubs of the Football League, we would recommend the venerable When
Saturday Comes and its annual pre-season preview, which is available now from all good newsagents,
or alternatively this collaborative project between two Football League blogs,
The Seventy Two and The Two Unfortunates.
Chelsea confirmed yesterday the signing of Barcelona's 19 year old defensive midfielder Orio Romeu
for a fee of around £4.5m on a four year contract and immediately AVB was quick to point out that
he WILL feature in games this season.
AVB said:
"It is a part of the squad where we are struggling with numbers because of Michael's
injury.
Jose Enrique Nears £6m Liverpool Move as Fee Agreed
Following on from Monday's news that Liverpool had rekindled their interest in Newcastle's Jose
Enrique, the player is believed to be close to sealing a £6m switch to Anfield after Newcastle
agreed to sell. The deal could rise closer to the £10m mark depending on certain clauses in the
deal being met.
They are as crooked as they come. But while there is little sympathy for Mohammed Bin Hammam for
allegedly bribing CFU officials for presidential votes there is no doubt that only he of all those
who stand accused is being put on trial. The consequences if found guilty are severe - he stands to
be barred for life from FIFA under corruption clauses.
Liverpool must act quickly if they wish to stay in the race to sign St Etienne midfielder Blaise
Matuidi after Ligue 1 rivals Paris Saint Germain lodged a £9m offer.
The Anfield club has been strongly linked with a move for the France international with talkSPORT
claiming they were prepared to pay around £8m to take him to the Premier League.

Kenny's keen...
Small update so far as Charlie Adam's impending £8.5 million move (£7 million up front, with a
further £1.5 million payable to Blackpool in various performance-based clauses) to Liverpool is
concerned: the Scot passed a medical at Melwood last night, is in the process of rubber-stamping
his personal terms and will be officially signed up in good time to leave for China and Malaysia
with his new teammates on Sunday morning.
Since May Arsenal have inquired after a whole host of players. This may have been the result of
the mistakes that were made last summer where we had a few stone wall targets when we failed to
bring them in we were left reliant on youth or forced into a panic buy. One of these was Sebastian
Squillaci.
Hello from a smokey NC backyard- seriously, the fires supposedly originated in the Outer Banks
but we're seeing some serious smoke here in the Triangle. Anyways, it's T minus 9 days until the
transfer window in England officially opens and we're still seeing the same reports regarding the
same players we've linked to all summer so far.
Morning to you,
another week begins with much on the horizon but little concrete info to kick us off. There's
the much vaunted signing of Gervinho, a possible defensive arrival, or two, the manager's transfer
budget apparently boosted by some property dealing, and the inevitable departures/stayings of one
or two.
Arsenal's position vis a vis Samir Nasri is weak. He's obviously after more wages and with a
year left in his contract, the club gains nothing for him once he leaves on a Bosman. There are a
couple of different options a.) Give him the money he seeks, extend his contract but build in some
performance clauses b.

Looks like you can expect an avalanche of speculative bull-honky for the next few weeks at the
very least Sergio Aguero, a player that was been linked with nearly all of Europe's elite (and
Tottenham) over the past five or six transfer windows has formally asked to be released from his
contract at Atletico Madrid.

MANCHESTER, England Manchester City have swooped to snatch Celta Vigo starlet Denis Suarez from
under the noses of Barcelona. Celta's chairman Carlos Mourino has confirmed that the Spanish
Under-17 midfielder will move to Eastlands for an initial fee of €1 million which could rise to
€3m depending on appearance- and performance-related clauses in the [.
