Is it me or do things seem to be getting worse for Chivas USA? Well after Martin Vasquez was
canned it seemed only natural that some change would happen but the news this morning that
President and CEO Shawn Hunter stepping down makes it appear that things are going downhill more
than we thought.

Its a new week and a new month. Last week we started a new series that looks at the current
state of each Major League Soccer club. First we took a gander at the expansion club in
Philadelphia and then we began a look at the rest of the league starting with the Chicago Fire.
Minnesotan Tony Sanneh Plays in USA v Mexico Reunion Game
Last Saturday in that Sun Bowl at El Paso, Texas, you may have had a hard time convincing some
retired US and Mexican National Team soccer players that "time heals old wounds." A USA vs Mexico
Reunion match was held in which some of those countries former National team stars got to lace up
the cleats one more time and enter back into competition between the North American neighbors.

The Side: The Goats had a decent 2009, but they once again failed to collect
any hardware. Plus, they lost Preki to the cursed Reds, so 2010 isn't exactly looking like the year
they will finally break through. Sure, they still have the silky smooth playmaker known as Sacha
Kljestan (who probably leads the league when it comes to having his named misspelled), but I just
don't think they will make a run this year.
Let's salute the Chicago Fire for picking the absolute perfect Designated Player.
From back when the Chicago Tribune covered soccer, we recall that Nery Castillo once set very great
store on playing in the Old World. Now, he's following in the footsteps of Cootiemac Blanco.
I realize I predicted that Blanco would be a trainwreck that we would tell our grandchildren about,
and he turned out to be acceptable.
