Liverpool flop Sebastian Leto could be set for a shock move to Juventus.
The 22-year-old midfielder has spent the season on loan at Olympiakos and looks unlikely to return
to Anfield in the summer with boss Rafael Benitez ready to offload the Argentine.
Leto had been linked with a switch to Paris Saint Germain.
The transfer window hasn't even started yet, and some of the most anticipated signings have
already been finalised.
Kaka will be unveiled for Real Madrid next Thursday in a sensational move. Cristiano Ronaldo
announced that the UCL final in Rome would be his last match for Man U, before going to Real
Madrid.
After years in the Serie A wilderness, Italian football could be set to witness the return of
Juventus as a legitimate force at the top end of the table.
Following another dismal campaign in which La Bianconeri failed to present a credible title
challenge for the second year in succession after their return to Italian football's top flight,
following a year spent in Serie B, Juventus dispensed with the service of coach Claudio Ranieri and
have begun a massive rebuilding job as they bid to break Internazionale's stranglehold on the
Scudetto.
In circumstances like these it might be easy to repeat the Bianconeri adage, "Juventus never
give up". It's one that fits. "Character" is one of the single most marking
characteristics of this team, and the way Juve achieved their victory over Catania today can only
reinforce that image (just like their Coppa Italia match did [.
Well the rich get richer.WWW.tuttosport.com have confirmed Juventus have signed Werder Bremen's
midfield star Diego for 24.5 million euro's. This isn't a big surprise. The ramifications of this
signing are yet to be felt on Juve's midfield. One thing is certain if your young super talent Seba
Giovinco today's signing isnt a good one for him.
Some of Europe's biggest clubs will see coaching changes this summer - Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Ajax
and now Juventus (with the dismissal of Claudio Ranieri).
With jobs like these now open, it leads you to believe if a major coaching carousel won't start to
go round and round, with names like Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Marco van
Basten being mentioned at filling some of these posts.

FIFA threatens to expel Bosnia and Poland from World Cup
The international football governing body has threatened Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland with the
expulsion from the current World Cup qualifiers because of their fans' ill conduct.
After another summer of big money spending - and who believes they are anywhere near finished! -
the pressure is on Manchester City boss Mark Hughes to achieve an absolute minimum of qualification
for the UEFA Champions League during the 2009-10 campaign. Although many will feel that City should
be looking to challenge for the title, with a number of strong teams in their way, it may prove a
bridge too far for what will essentially be a new team.
- Corinthians defeated Santos 2-1 yesterday thanks to their goalkeeper,
Felipe. The fans responded by singing him a Birthday Song at the end of the match.

The new season saw one of the biggest Italian clubs left without a manager already after first
two rounds. Luciano Spalletti obviously had enough after his team was demolished in the derby
against Juventus and right after the game he resigned from the post of Roma boss. New coach on Roma
bench, Claudio Ranieri stated on his presentation that he will try to shake things up, so his team
could contend for the title this season.
addio.
Here's Greaseano's new ad for Castrol, where he speaks lovely Portuglish and
tells us that he'd much rather sit in the car and enjoy that lifetime supply of petrol as hair
moisturizer. On another note, they'd better not show this ad on TV anytime soon.

You know, punters have always given great importance to statistical records. winning streaks and
whatnot, but I always say "there's always a first time" and that "records are meant
to be broken". As much as it feels great when it happens to the good guys (i.e. you, or the
team you are cheering for), you're [.
(Summary is not available.)
Usually, even the most skilled of managers are incapable of turning a team upside down in a matter
of days. And yet, Chelsea victory over Juventus in the Round of 16's first leg of UEFA Champions
League playoffs bears a big mark from the "Goose". His secret in two words? Didier
Drogba. A lost soul [.
It may not be champagne football, but Juventus know just what to do to pick themselves up. I
wouldn't say the "Stamford Bridge scar is healing" (Gazzetta's words, personally I
wouldn't even call it a scar - things are still very open for the second leg) but Saturday the
Bianconeri demonstrated once again maximum efficiency [.
Who should host Euro 2016? A joint bid from France & Italy, perhaps? The ten most annoying transfer
sags of this millennium. Europe's most exciting league? The formerly chunky Ronaldo makes his
return. While the other, less talented Ronaldo gets caught up in a real battle of wits. The
multilingual diversity of gooooooooooooooooooool.
Post-elimination aftershock? Not for Juventus, no sir! The Zebras have turned into Bengal Tigers,
landing straight on their feet after their European fall. Their Saturday 4-1 win over Bologna
demonstrated one thing and one thing only: depression only lasts for as long as you let it (in
Juve's case: 45 minutes).
Zlatan the great
By Glezos Alberganti, La Settimana Sportiva
Another great performance by Zlatan Ibrahimovic granted Inter three valuable points in their
17th title quest (2-0). After struggling in the first half against a brave Lazio side, and with the
help of supersubs Hernan Crespo and Patrick Vieira, Mourinho's men came back on top with another
wonder goal by Ibra.
Will there be more to come for United?
As far as title winners go, Manchester United's Class of 2009 have been one of the best. In
cold, hard terms of consistency United have been absolutely incredible - 27 wins from 37 games, 87
points from 37 games and just 7 points being dropped at home belies a level of reliability
unmatched since Mourinho's glory days in the mid-2000s.
Well Inter have done it for a fourth straight year.Ya-ya i know the first two were awarded because
of Juve's revocation of Scudetti. But it doesn't matter Inter sit on their 17th straight
Scudetto. Thanks to Udinese's revenge 2-1 win over Inter's dreaded derby rival Milan.
So Inter get to celebrate a fourth straight title in front of their home fans at the San Siro
tomorrow.
Italy / Serie A
The title race is all over in Italy as Jose Mourinho's Inter side sealed the championship with a
comfortable 3-0 win over Siena yesterday. The only team that could have caught them on points,
Milan, surprisingly lost 2-1 to Udinese on Saturday leaving Inter to turn on the style against
their hosts with a display of skill and flair that the triumphant home fans lapped up.
Ciro Ferrara takes over Claudio Ranieri at Juve's helm for the last two matches.
Zero titles claimed their first big victim this season.
Juve have gone eight matches without winning one. They lost to Atalanta which jeopardized their
automatic CL spot. They now need the maximum points from the last two matches.
The big news this past weekend was that three leagues crowned their 2008-09 title winners. Inter
Milan earned its fourth straight Scudetto after Udinese beat A.C. Milan 2-1 on Saturday. For Jose
Mourinho, this was his fifth championship in three leagues, and is the only coach to win both Serie
A and the EPL.
It seems that the wandering time, transition period after relegation to the second league and
breaking legs on Italian countryside is finally over. Over the last two years, after returning to
Serie A, the biggest Italian club were searching for their identity. Delusions like Claudio Ranieri
or bad moves on the market cost them dearly, but they have learnt the lesson.
Claudio Ranieri's recent arrival to Roma brings home a native son and player. In many ways the
universe seemed to have planned this out perfectly for the Tinkerman. Ranieri's unceremonious if
not rude firing by Juventus last season with only two games to go seemed so incongruous it that it
now appears had to be done for Ranieri to be allowed to return home.
Lots to catch up on with two rounds of fixtures in Serie A, the start of the Champions League and
of course the Azzuri in World Cup qualification action. So no messing around - let's get straight
to it. Avanti!
Since my last update, Luciano Spalletti has parted company with Roma to be replaced by Claudio
Ranieri, following a home defeat to the Tinkerman's former club Juventus.
Today was my first sight of Roma under Claudio Ranieri. The first thing that struck me about the new
Roma was a desire to defend. Out went the champagne football in came the six pack.Collectively Roma
look solid in the 4-4-2.They now defend in numbers and at times today looked strong doing so.The
sight was almost startling.
As everyone knows by now, Roberto Donadoni was relieved of his duties as Napoli manager and was
replaced by former Sampdoria boss Walter Mazzarri. We can't deny that Donadoni was one of the
greatest wingers Italian football has ever produced. But his managerial career so far? Not great.
We really don't know where Donadoni is at as a manager or if he will ever improve.

Claudio Ranieri will be hoping that his good record against Fulham FC – and their manager Roy

The Top 6 Keep This Week Interesting
Inter, Sampdoria, Juventus, Palermo, Fiorentina and AC Milan all won this weekend to raise the
stakes for the mid-week matches: Genoa v. Fiorentina, Napoli v. AC Milan, Juventus v. Sampdoria,
and Inter V. Palermo (29th). Clear your schedule Wednesday and Thursday for some great
calcio.
The victory against Inter was not backed by a vintage performance but served as a reprieve for
Ciro Ferrara who is under intense pressure from the tifosi to bring glory back to the Old Lady
following a summer spending campaign which included the signing of Brazilians Diego and Felipe Melo
for considerable sums.
The Bianconeri can pat themselves on the back. After a long climb the Old Lady reached the peak of
Serie A, planting her flag at the top; some very much needed black & white colours to break the
monotony of a landscape of Neroazzurro. And even if this satisfaction is short-lived (the
José-boys may or [.
As a Bianconero, big disappointment lingers in my mind after Wednesday's Serie A action. Not only
did an unrecognizable (and Del Piero-less) Juve lose away to Udinese, but Inter Milan's concurrent
win over Catania (and AC Milan's draw to Genoa) restores the Nerazzurri's +6/+8 lead, leaving us to
wonder if the current order of the [.
If one thing was certain on Wednesday night's Coppa Italia match, it was the "do or die"
nature of Juventus vs. Napoli. Coming from rather poor moments of form in Serie A (two consecutive
losses against Udinese and vs. Cagliari for the Bianconeri, a single point scored in their last
four fixtures for the Azzurri) [.
May 17, 2008. That is the last time one Mr. David Trezeguet had scored in the Italian Serie A:
almost an unthinkable waiting period for a goalscorer of his caliber, but which finally came to an
end Saturday night as Juventus overcame Palermo. And it certainly was no easy feat, as the
Bianconeri battled with [.
Claudio Ranieri aka Mrs Doubtfire thinks that the pressure from the Brazilian and Italian press
about the issue of 'nationality' has not impacted Amauri's performances on the field. The Juventus
coach said : "This may be something he thinks about (when he's not playing), but on the field
he is always the same.
