Former QPR and Fulham boss Ray 'Razor'/'Butch' Wilkins is in line for a return to management
courtesy of the empty hot-seat at the Hawthorns.
The former Chelsea, Man Utd and Milan midfielder has been in talks with West Brom over the job,
although there remain a number of other strong contenders for the job.
Premier League players and managers come and go over the seasons but
one thing remains constant. Frank Lampard keeps on scoring goals in the top flight of English
football.
Since 1996, Lampard has graced the Premier League every season and his penalty against Fulham
Monday marked a remarkable achievement of becoming the first ever midfielder to reach 150 Premier
League goals.
Fates. Met.
This past month or so has seen the firings of two high profile managers from two high profile
positions in the greater European soccer community.
André Villas-Boas fired on March 4th from Chelsea, one month shy of celebrating his one-year
anniversary.
The firing was not a surprise as club owner Roman Abramovich has shown a lack of patience in
keeping managers.
Juventus moved to within 2 points of Serie A leaders AC Milan after a comfortable 3-0 win over
Napoli at the Juventus Arena last night. The win ensures Juventus maintains their unbeaten streak
in the league with only handful of matches left.
A proud Antonio Conte praised his team for their performance saying that the result had given
them hope of winning their first league title since the infamous calciopoli scandal.
Three matches and three rivals vanquished (even if Adriano Galliani does not completely agree) –
Juventus enjoyed a successful week which rejuvenated their Scudetto bid and saw them reach the
Coppa Italia final. The week-capping victory over Inter made Juve forget the provincial struggles
which has threatened to ensure a potentially unbeaten season likened more to Perugia 1978/79 than
Milan.
It comes as no surprise that AVB is being linked with the Inter Milan post in the summer after
Claudio Ranieri was sacked this week. In fact, AVB is the bookies favourite or should I say "was"
until apparently Massimo Moratti spoke with Jose Mourinho for advice on AVB. It seems as though
Jose has advised Moratti that he isn't the right man for Inter.
Mario Balotelli took some precious time off from Man City's precariously poised Premiership
campaign to fly down to Milan and disrupt Andrea Stramaccioni's press conference. Stramaccioni
replaced Claudio Ranieri as Inter's coach following their disastrous slide down the Serie.
Former Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli enhanced his reputation as being one of the most
unpredictable players in the game when he interrupted Inter Milans press conference today as they
unveiled Andrea Stramaccioni as their new manager having sacked Claudio Ranieri at the week-end,
just to say hello!
A moment of controversy, a moment of Balotelli. Never are the two very far apart.
Andrea Stramaccioni was given the opportunity of a lifetime yesterday, ascending from heading
Inter's Primavera to heading the senior team after Claudio Ranieri's merciful dismissal. No matter
what may happen in the near future, this is colossal for his career.
What another whirlwind 24 hours in the land of Pazza Inter. In a move that shocked some but was
expected by many, Claudio Ranieri was relieved of his managerial duties late Monday evening. It
was a decision that had been a long time coming and could be argued that the ax should have been
dropped sooner.

Yesterday Inter fired Coach Claudio Ranieri and appointed Andrea Stramaccioni, who had been the
youth team coach, as his successor, for at least the rest of the season. Today Stramaccioni held
his first press conference, which was crashed by former Inter player Mario Balotelli, who currently
plays for Manchester City.
After sacking Claudio Ranieri on Monday, Inter named youth team coach Andrea Stramaccioni the
club's caretaker manager. At the press conference to announce this change and introduce
Stramaccioni, there was an interruption. And of course that interruption was Mario Balotelli.
With nothing to do between matches with Man City (aside from training or handing out money to
homeless people), Mario decided to stop by his old club to congratulate the coach, even though
Stramaccioni took over the Primavera squad after Mario was already with Man City.

The Champions League returns alongside the best footy-loving bride ever.
The Champions League is back, but what happened in the past week? Liverpool lost to Wigan at
Anfield. Real Madrid let Barcelona back into the La Liga race. Claudio Ranieri got fired at Inter.
Arsenal overtook Spurs.
Claudio Ranieri's gone, gone to the outside, looking in
Inter's body count now includes four coaches in the last 15 months as their struggles continue.
Claudio Ranieri was the latest to be shown the door. Since Jose Mourinho left, Inter have gone
through Rafa Benitez, Leonardo, Gian Piero Gasperini, and now Ranieri.
A surprise in that it happened today, but Inter have sacked Claudio Ranieri after a very
disappointing six months in charge of the Nerazzurri.
It was a surprise as earlier today Inter President Massimo Moratti was quoted as saying:
"I think so," when asked if Ranieri would stay in charge for the rest of the season, without
mentioning next term.
"Figlio, this was how pap scored that second goal!" must've been the only thing
Alessandro Del Piero proudly proclaimed to his son Tobias,
following Juventus's 2-0 victory over Inter Milan last night. The father-son duo
were spotted running up and down the pitch after the game, which isn't surprising given
the fact that Del Piero is the type of player allowed to do whatever he
wants within the club's institution.
In the 77th minute of Inter's 0-0 draw against Atalanta on Sunday, Diego Forlan had a moment of
insubordination not entirely unlike when Carlos Tevez "refused" to come off the bench for Man City
during a Champions League match against Bayern Munich earlier this season. Except instead of City
manager Roberto Mancini's approach of publicly stating that Tevez would never play for the club
again before having to go back on that several months later, Inter manager Claudio Ranieri has
taken a calmer approach while still exposing Forlan to the press.
Pressure is mounting on Inter Milan coach Claudio Ranieri after his side squandered the chance
to bag all three points at home against Atalanta yesterday. Diego Milito's missed penalty and a
lackluster performance from the entire team highlighted another poor outing for the Nerazzuri.
Inter's barren draw further complicates things for them as they not only are out of the running
for a Champions League spot, but they are also in danger of missing out on a Europa League
slot.
There are too many things going on in this photo, but the essence of it is there the blood,
sweat and tears of Napoli's Edinson Cavani! He scored a double to rescue a
point for his team in their match against Udinese last night, where they seemed
exhausted upfront and weren't converting as they should have.

Thank goodness for Good Week/Bad Week, Kickettes. If it wasn't for this post, we'd never, ever
be able to catch up with any of the stuff we didn't have time for while we were
socialising/drinking/falling down/sleeping.
GOOD WEEK
Popped collar, neatly trimmed beard, steely glare.
Monterrey's quest to defend its CONCACAF Champions League title is very much alive.
Humberto Suazo scored two more goals as Los Rayados coasted to a 4-1 victory (7-2 on
aggregate) over Morelia and sealed a place in the CCL semifinals.
Luis Perez and Walter Ayovi added goals for Monterrey, which was in the control before the
second leg even started after turning in three away goals in a 3-1 first-leg victory.
Bayern Munich proved that their 7-1 victory over Hoffenheim over the weekend was no fluke as
they thrashed Swiss club FC Basel 7-0 to move into the quarter finals comfortably.
Bayern's victory was the biggest win in a Champions League knockout stage match after they
bettered their own record set in 2009 at the same stage of the tournament when they beat Sporting
Lisbon 7-1 at the Allianz Arena.

Claudio Ranieri's grip on the Inter job became even more tenuous as Inter exited from the
Champions League undone by a added time Brandao goal. They looked to have booked their passage
through Diego Milito's second half goal. But Inter's vaunted defense have never looked worse or as
sluggish when they let the Brazilian score the vital away goal and the equalizer.

Champions League on the away goals rule despite a 2-1 win over Marseille. Following a string of
poor results and calls for his immediate resignation, the Inter Milan faithful, as well as the

After the summer transfer window shut on August 31, 2011, most Interisti were relieved to see
Wesley Sneijder was still an Inter Milan player. Sneijder's summer holiday locale of Los Angeles
was fitting, as the drama surrounding him was suited for Hollywood. Everyone needed to know if
Inter's Number 10 was staying or would soon be on his way to Manchester.

"This is like a marriage, the husband is always the last person to know what the wife is doing."
That is how Claudio Ranieri described his position as Inter manager after the club's most recent
match on Sunday, a 2-2 draw with Catania at the San Siro. The comments came after he was asked
about the possibility of being fired by president Massimo Moratti, amidst what seems to be
never-ending.

The Spanish club now in the second division knocked the Champions League winners out of the
competition pouring in 4 unanswered goals in the second leg to overcome a 4-1 first leg deficit.
Coruna found four separate goalscorers as Walter Pandiani, Juan Carlos Valeron, Albert Luque, and
Fran Gonzalez dismantled an excellent Milan side.
The situation across many European club's remains tense especially after Andre Villas-Boas
surprise sacking yesterday. A number of coaches in top club's across the continent could find
themselves in a similar position once the season ends.
Treading on some very thin ice is Inter Coach Claudio Ranieri as well as his Bayern counterpart
Jupp Heynckes.
