Having spent my Wednesday evening immersed in equal parts Werder Bremen v Sampdoria Champions
League playoff and Jonathan Wilson's What is a playmaker's role in the modern game?, I
find it abnormally appropriate to comment on Aaron Hunt's man of the match performance in Bremen's
eventual 3–1 first leg home victory v Antonio Cassano and Sampdoria.

Group A
Inter Milan vs FC Twente from the San Siro, Milan
The pressure is firmly on Inter and manager Rafa Benitez in this one. The defending champions are
going through a rough patch as every club does during a season, and the club have dropped to sixth
in the Serie A.
Watch Clemens Fritz's absolute blast that beats Gianluca Curci. Then Torsten Frings converts a
spot kick after defender Stefano Lucchini earned a yellow for bringing down Sebastian Prödl.
Lucchini had to leave subsequently because it was his second yellow. Claudio Pizzaro completes the
Werder tally.
I was reading this article on the Soccerlens website. They are running what they believe to be
Chelsea's worst signings since Roman took over the club and I am not sure I agree with them.
They have listed the 10 worst or disappointing players to be:
Neil Sullivan
Asier Del Horno
Steve Sidwell/Claudio Pizzaro/Tal Ben Haim
Glen Johnson
Deco
Mateja Kezman
Juan Sebastien Veron
Adrian Mutu
Shawn Wright-Phillips
Andriy Shevchenko.
