The last time the United States and Panama met was the 2011 Gold Cup. The US lost the June 11th
group stage game in Tampa Bay 2-1. Trailing from the 19th minute, the US was down two goals after
giving up a 36th-minute penalty. Clarence Goodson pulled a goal back in the 68th, but the USA was
unable to come up with an equalizer.

Having been beaten by Kilmarnock in shocking fashion last week, Carlos Bocanegra, Maurice Edu
and Alejandro Bedoya enter their match against Dunfermline Athletic with one thing in mind:
Winning.
Rangers is still four points clear of Celtic for first place in the Scottish Premier League, but
the Blues need to bounce back from last weekend's defeat.
Clarence Goodson and the Brondby back line did their part to keep AC Horsens off the scoreboard,
however a dubious non-call on a clear offside infraction doomed them to a home loss on Monday
night.

Brondby IF won its first game since early October in shocking fashion this past weekend, and it
can partially thank Clarence Goodson for that.
Along with going the distance and limiting first-place FC Copenhagen to one goal, Goodson scored
the opener in Brondby's 2-1 victory on Sunday.
Michael Parkhurst and Nordsjaelland continued their strong run with a victory over SonderjyskE
while Clarence Goodson netted Brondby's opening goal as they surged past league leaders Copenhagen.
Clarence Goodson got an 18th-minute goal in Brondby's 2-1 win over Copenhagen, one of two Americans
to score over the weekend. Robbie Findley got the other goal, with Nottingham Forest beating
Ipswich Town 3-2 in England's Championship. Findley equalized in the 42nd minute, with Joel Lynch
getting Forest's second equalizer in the 84th and Marcus Tudgay finding a stoppage time winner.
Yep, Clarence Goodson buried the first goal of that game (and his first of the season) from an 18th
minute free kick and then marshaled the Brøndby backline in a 2-1 win over FC Copenhagen that now
gives Michael Parkhurst's FC Nordsjælland a chance to cut into the league lead. Clip to come...-

Securing victory over Slovenia was nice. And scoring three goals was even better, but until
World Cup Qualification begins, the results still do not matter. Rather, it is the performance of
individuals and how they help to shape the team's formation and tactics that are most important to
evaluate as the pieces come together for Jurgen Klinsmann's US National Team.
The U.S. men's national team's 3-2 victory over Slovenia broke down into two parts. The exciting
and encouraging offensive display in the first half and the shaky and discouraging debacle in the
second half.
It was an important win for Jurgen Klinsmann, who ends his first year in charge of the United
States on a winning note, and an encouraging note after an otherwise lackluster start.
After each match the contributors to New England Soccer Today will rate the performances of
the United States National Team players who made an appearance on a 1 to 10 scale (1 horrendous, 5
average, 10 perfection). This week Sean Donahue contributed ratings for the USA's 3-2 victory over
Slovenia.
1. We will see a starting lineup very similar to the one used against France. The only
differences will be Michael Orozco Fiscal for Clarence Goodson
(please see prediction #3 vs. France) and DaMarcus Beasley for Danny
Williams.
Tim Howard (GK) -
Lindemans Framboise: Sweet and sour temperament, but
effervescent as usual. Made some crucial saves that kept the match level for 70
minutes.
Timmy Chandler (LB) -
Weihenstephaner Hefe: Typically a
refreshing bit of German goodness, but on this occasion a little too light when something stronger
was called for.
By Jon Levy I'm going to be really nice to Jurgen Klinsmann and describe his first six matches in
charge as "underwhelming." Far more severe adjectives could be applied, especially after the
disappointing performance against France. Alexei Lalas nailed it, as he often does, in calling the
team out for not even attempting to rise [.
By Garrett McInnis Prior to the France match, I had completely unrealistic expectations. The same
can be said of my expectations for Jurgen Klinsmann's first few months as manager of the National
Team. I think it's safe to say that most American soccer fans got a little too excited by Klinsy's
hire. Having said all [.
The United States played another dull and creatively challenged game against France last night,
losing 1-0 in a game in which the U.S. managed just two shots on goal. The loss it the fourth in
six games under new coach Jurgen Klinsmann with all four losses coming by the same 1-0 scoreline.
The honeymoon period is quickly coming to an end for Klinsmann with the United States suffering
from a severe offensive drought having scored just two goals in six games.
It wasn't a game USA fans will be re-watching for entertainment purposes, or one American
players will want to remember, but the U.S. national team's 1-0 loss to France still offered up
plenty of information, if not attacking soccer.
France was always going to be favored and expected to be the better side, even with a young
lineup, but the U.

PARIS, France – The United States Men's National Soccer Team's struggles to generate offense
continued on Friday as they fell 1-0 at Stade de France and are now 1-4-1 under head coach Jurgen
Klinsmann.
The Americans kept the French quiet during the first half, but the home side came out with
renewed life in the second period, keeping the visitors pegged back for much of the final 45
minutes and eventually finding the back of the net.
Another friendly. Another 1-0 loss.
The U.S. men's national team was unable to score for the fourth time in six games under new head
coach Jurgen Klinsmann, and as a result fell, 1-0, to France at Stade de France on Friday.
Loic Remy scored the game's only goal minutes after entering in the second half, but the result
could have been worse for the Americans if not for several quality saves from Tim Howard.
The United States is set to face its biggest test of the Klinsmann era with a visit to France on
Friday in an international friendly. This is just the third meeting between the two teams with
France winning the previous two games 6-0 and 3-0 in 1979.

France has already qualified for Euro 2012 so expect France coach
Laurent Blanc to give some younger players much needed experience.

What happened to kicking the tires?
With the announcement of another conservative, heavily German-born roster for the upcoming
friendlies against France (Friday, Nov. 11, 3pm on ESPN2) and Slovenia (Tuesday, Nov. 15, 12pm on
ESPN2), apprehension has begun to creep to the front of many US fans' minds.
Michael Parkhurst and Nordsjaelland bested Koge to return to second place while Clarence Goodson
and Brondby earned a tough point on their visit to Odense.
The U.S. men's national team returns to action on Friday with a match-up against France, a match
that should tell us plenty about the current state of Jurgen Klinsmann's team.
Klinsmann will have a strong group to choose from for Friday's match. Both Landon Donovan and
Clint Dempsey will be available, and German-born Fabian Johnson is set to make his national team
debut.

Pretty standard roster again this time around, with a couple of changes. USMNT head coach Jurgen

The German infusion of talent continues, as newcomer Alfredo Morales of Hertha BSC will make his
debut on the USMNT roster.
Looks like we are going to see a lot of euro based players for this one as only 5 MLS players are
called up (they need a little break for now) including Bill Hamid who is currently on trial with
West Brom in the EPL.GOALKEEPERS (2): Bill Hamid (D.C.United), Tim Howard (Everton)DEFENDERS (7):

There's one new face in camp, with Hertha Berlin defender Alfred Morales among the 22 players
selected by Klinsmann.

Juergen Klinsmann picked 22 players for the U.S. men's national team friendlies at France on
Nov. 11 (3 p.m. ET, ESPN2, Univision, ESPN3.com) and Slovenia on Nov. 15 (noon ET, ESPN2,
Galavision, ESPN3.com).
A few surprises but mostly what you would expect from Klinsmann at this point. It seems as
though Orozco Fiscal has replaced Jonathan Bornstein as the weird defensive call-up that makes no
sense.
The final U.S. men's national team matches of 2011 are fast approaching, and with a pair of
European road games on the slate, there is a good bet we will see plenty of familiar faces, but
hopefully at least a few new faces.
The MLS playoffs could mean that some players don't make the trip across the pond, like Landon
Donovan, though U.

Seeing German-Americans playing along one another on the U.S. men's national team is becoming
quite the trend, but for one weekend we'll see a portion of them doing battle.
Jermaine Jones is set to face off against fellow United States pool players Danny Williams and
Fabian Johnson when Schalke 04 and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim play on Saturday.
Clarence Goodson and Brondby will try to stop the bleeding during their trip to Silkeborg while
Michael Parkhurst and Nordsjaelland face a tough visit to local rivals FC Copenhagen.
The Krew...
Two games, 1 win, 1 loss from September Camp.
TSG goes diving again into the USMNT...
And now the US will embark for Europe in early-mid November for friendlies against France and
Slovenia. Though Slovenia was presumably only chosen because other European nations had
commitments, the US finds itself challenged by two vastly different systems and talent levels.
