We'll get some idea about how good Newcastle are against one of the top English sides tomorrow
afternoon when the lads take on Tottenham Hotspur in London. Papiss Cisse and Alan Pardew
during training yesterday But with a number of players missing, including Cheick Tiote, Yohan
Cabaye, Leon Best and Ryan Taylor, Newcastle will not be at their strongest, at least not in
central midfield.
Newcastle United defender Mike Williamson is aware that Tottenham Hotspur's terrific form
throughout the season indicates their prowess, particularly at White Hart Lane.
Following Monday night's goalless draw at Anfield, third-place Spurs return home and with
manager Harry Redknapp cleared of tax evasion charges, the North London outfit will be completely
focused on picking up all three points in Saturday's late kick-off.
Danny Simpson who did not clear off the line on Sunday has talked today about Papiss Cisse, who has
made an immediate and very positive impact on Tyneside. Papiss Cisse a great action shot of
Newcastle's number 9 The No 9 gave an interview after the game and ti was translated by Olivier
Bernard, who played at left [.
Now that the dust has settled, here's a look at some of the transfers that took place during the
January transfer window, and see if we can separate the wheat from the chaff.
Whereas last season money was being splashed out on the likes of Fernando Torres and Andy
Carroll like a mad gambler who got his greasy mits on a load of free bets, the window this time
around was a lot more sensible, indicating a lot less value in the market.
The best player for Newcastle on Sunday afternoon against Aston Villa was Danny Guthrie. Danny
Guthrie proving he' s very good player for Newcastle Danny got 47% of the vote for Man of the
Match, followed by 17% for Tim Krul and 11% for debut boy and scorer of that wonder goal Papiss
Cisse - and then James Perch is on [.
There's no doubt that after his performance and goal against Aston Villa in his debut on Sunday
afternoon that Papiss Cisse is currently the Toast of the Toon. The new Newcastle hero thanks
fans after Sunday's win Newcastle have now won four of their last five league games, and the
only real let-down was that second half at Craven Cottage.
There's one thing that makes Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse come across in a similar way at Newcastle
they are both very humble men. Papiss Cisse in action during his Newcastle debut Newcastle fans
have taken to Demba Ba this season, not only because of his 16 goals in the league, although
that's certainly a big help, [.

Demba Ba has given an interview in the Guardian, and he says some revealing things. Demba Ba
after scoring his 16th league goal of the season yesterday The main thing he says is that he has
no desire at all to leave Newcastle, and he is very happy at the club, and he thinks it's just
great that Papiss Cisse [.
Cisse didn't take long on Saturday to convince the Newcastle crowd he could become a big star
on Tyneside. Papiss Cisse shoots with the left foot GOAL! His overall play was good and his goal to
win the game after 70 minutes was a stunner, and only a player with great technique and technical
skills could score a goal like that.
Newcastle paid out what these days is a big sum of money for Papiss Cisse £9M. Great shot of
Pappis Cisse and Demba Ba after Cisse goal It turns out that as soon as Andy Carroll left
Newcastle a year ago for Liverpool, Papiss Demba Cisse became Alan Pardews's number once
choice to get the number 9 jersey at Newcastle, and the Newcastle fans saw [.
So Newcastle's new signing Papiss Demba Cisse and fellow Senegalese team mate Demba Ba netted
goals for the Magpies in their 2-1 home win over Aston Villa yesterday. However, whats funny is
that the same two players could not do the same for Senegal in the Africa Cup of Nations.
And this is interesting because African players have a tendency to perform well for their clubs,
but when it comes to their national sides, it is a different story.

afternoon at St. James' Park, wearing that number 9 jersey, a new hero was born on Tyneside.

Newcastle beat Aston Villa 2-1 this afternoon at St. James' Park and it was Senegal strikers
Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse - making his debut that both scored good opportunist goals to get
Newcastle the win. It was after Tim Krul had made two good saves to keep Newcastle in the game,
that Demba Ba scored his 16th league goal of the season after 30 [.

Demba Ba returns to the starting line up this afternoon for Newcastle United against Aston Villa at
St. James' Park. As expected Shola Ameobi makes way for the Senegal striker and his team-mate
Papiss Cisse in on the bench. Ba will partner Leon Best up front, and this looks like a decent
team for Newcastle today.

Djibril Cisse could never be described as a shrinking violet, so it will come as little surprise
that the former Liverpool man was once again the centre of attention at Loftus Road, albeit for all
the wrong reasons.

The 2012 January transfer window was a rather more sedate affair than it's 2011 predecessor.
Money was spent much more sensibly this time around as opposed to being thrown around like a
compulsive gambler who had hacked into a free bets website.
Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez did not get a move away from the Etihad and Manchester
United did not break the bank to sign Wesley Sneijder.
There was a lack of real excitement during the final day of the 2012 January Transfer Window,
with none of the Premier League's big names on the move and a subsequent drop in spending from the
same day 12 months ago means the latest transfer window closed without much of a noise.
The speculation that ran wild from Sky Sports News reporters situated at Premier League grounds
became boring with attention being finally turned to actual fixtures that took place on the
night.
At his press conference this afternoon, Alan Pardew said that Papiss Cisse was impressive in
training today. Papiss Cisse in training this morning at Benton Alan said that not all his players
did a full session today at the Benton training grounds, but everybody hung around so
they could see what Cisse was like, and Alan said the Senegal striker will have impressed one [.

Don't feel bad that you missed all the transfer news because you're such important people. We
too were engaged in frantic busy work (sleeping, shopping, drinking or a horrifying and painful
combination of all three) when the window slammed shut at 23.

Newcastle managed to keep all their top players during the January transfer window, and even
bring in top Senegal striker Papiss Cisse for £9M from SC Freiburg. The Senegal strikers Demba Ba
and Papiss will not however be available for tonight's game at Blackburn, and the big problem we
have about this game is who is [.
Most Newcastle fans were just happy we got through yesterday without losing some of our top
players. Alan Pardew much happier than last year And although Newcastle failed to sign any
defensive cover, which was their number one priority going into the window, fans are fairly
pleased at the January window, since we brought in Papiss Cisse from SC Frieburg for £9M, [.

NUFC Blog January transfer window countdown. Watch the magic window and keep updated on all the
Newcastle United deadline drama. Ok, Here we go... Just a few hours to go before we learn of any in
and/or outs on the final day of this January's transfer window. As we've already signed Papiss

After acquiring Taye Taiwo from Ac Milan, Queens Park Rangers' continue to collect another
ex-Serie A base player by completing the signing of Djibril Cisse from Lazio for a fee worth around
5 million Euro.
Cisse, who also had premiership experience with Liverpool few seasons ago, has already talked to
the press about his arrival, revealing that coach Mark Hughes and the exciting project that QPR are
creating attracted him.
The winter transfer window in Europe is set to close today, and teams are still scrambling to
fill vacancies and address needs for the second half of their respective seasons.
While we don't seem likely to have any megastars making winter transfer moves, despite resurgent
rumors of Carlos Tevez to AC Milan, there is still some serious talent changing addresses.
The news coming in today is that there is only a small chance that Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse will
be able to play tomorrow night at Blackburn. Papiss Cisse with Pardew yet to make Newcastle debut
Apparently Newcastle have put on special flights to give them a chance of making the squad for the
Rovers [.

The Sky Sports News 'Babelcopter' takes to the skies once again!
What with it being Transfer Deadline Day and all, we diligent folks at Pies are going to
endeavour to keep you abreast of all the confirmed moves, rubber-stamped loans and the most goddamn
ludicrous rumours that crop up until the window shuts tonight or at least until we can't be arsed
any more.
With lots of Newcastle central defense targets seemingly unavailable in January, we wonder who
will be coming through the door today. Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa - Montpellier captain would be great buy
We suppose if Newcastle can get a good center-back though the door before 11:00 pm tonight,
that will be enough to go with top striker Papiss Cisse, who was surprisingly signed by
Newcastle a couple of weeks ago.
Style maven Djibril Cisse famous for his hair landscaping, goatees, and tattoos returns
QPR created the most buzz this transfer window completing the transfer of Nancy's highly rated
midfielder Samba Diakite for a reported £3.36m. They added Nedum Onuoha from City and Taye Taiwo
on loan from Milan to bolster the defense.
There's a slim chance Carlos Tevez (in sparkier times above) will be joining
Samuel Eto'o's Russian playground, Anzhi, before the transfer
window closes at 12am tonight. But don't bank on it chicos! Milan, PSG and
Inter all held discussions with him in the past months and everyone basically snapped
their fingers and said "NO", except for Anzhi who're apparently willing to pay £15m for him.
Alan Pardew is hoping that Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse will be back in time to be able to take part
at Blackburn on Wednesday evening. James Perch in action at Brighton That's the first game after
the transfer window closes at 11:00 pm tomorrow night, so let's hope we don't lose any of our [...]
Both Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse should be arriving back in Newcastle today after Senegal were
eliminated from the African Cup of Nations. Alan Pardew - we need to do better at Blackburn But
both players will find that Newcastle only have Premier League games left to play this season,
after sadly being eliminated 1-0 from the FA Cup at Brighton [.
It was certainly a miserable African Cup of Nations for Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse as Senegal were
surprisingly beaten 2-1 by Libya last night in Estadio de Bata in Bata, in the final
qualifying game of Group A. Papiss Cisse in action Ihab Bouseffi scored both goals for Libya and
it meant Senegal lost all their [.
