Former Inter star Christian Vieri could cause his old team lose their 2005-06 scudetto (A Bola Na Bota)

Déja vu all over again in Serie A. What's a World Cup year without a scandal in Italy? That seems to have been the case the past few years there.

Some of the old scars of Calciopoli have been scraped and we could have a third champion in the 2005-06 season.

We're probably all thinking the same thing right now: how in the world is this woman still dating this hefty bag? Either Christian Vieri is ridiculously good between the sheets or he's simply punching above his (ever-increasing) weight.

Prior to attending the BETCAP.TV Sport Launch together, we're convinced Bobo's longtime girlfriend, Melissa Satta, let him borrow her bronzer to disguise his undereye bags.

Before the debate of Chelsea or City's money was brought to the Premiership, jealous fans of other teams used to talk of Manchester United 'buying' success.

As City and Chelsea have kindly proven for us since then, having a load of money isn't the be all and end all to success. There are several elements you need to create a dominating club and whilst money is essential, so is the guidance of a skilled manager, the dedication of a talented squad, and that little bit of luck that always seems to go hand in hand with successful teams.

Christian Vieri and Kim Kardashian: they make a lovely couple. Except it's not bubble-butted Kim really, it's one of Vieri's Lazio team-mates much to Christian's dismay, no doubt. But who? Clue: this pic was taken in 1998.

Previous answer: Jack Sparrow was hiding the pale visage of James McFadden.

The last time Jose Mourinho lost a home league game, Christian Vieri was leading Inter's striking force. Mourinho was in charge at FC Porto as they lost 3-2 at home to Beira-Mar on February 22, 2002 and he has not lost since. Mourinho didn't lose a single home league game at Chelsea and is yet to do so as Inter boss.

With the decade wrapping up, I thought it'd be a good idea to review every season of the decade thus far, starting with the 1999-2000. The review will highlight Serie A of course, but also Italian teams in European competition, and National team stories from that season. So we begin with the 1999-2000 season, the dawn of the new millennium.

The Decade in Review finally arrives to the 2005/2006 season. A season filled with such controversy (Calciopoli), but ended with such joy (World Cup 2006). This is the season that would change Italian football forever. Juventus in particular would never be the same (and they still aren't).

Since Inter and Roma will be trying to win the Scudetto this weekend, I thought it would be appropriate to make this Great Serie A Games post a clash between Inter and Roma. This is from the 2002/2003 season, and Inter hosted Roma at the San Siro. Inter had a pretty decent season, reaching the Champions League semi-final and finishing second to Juventus in Serie A, with Christian Vieri finishing top scorer of Serie A with 24 goals.

Are target men ever successful?

England's love-affair with the "big man" or target man perhaps transcends practicality. As a position, they are hoisted up proudly in the air like a totem, therefore, when one emerges, like Andy Carroll of Newcastle United, it is no surprise that they dangled over the balcony like one of Michael Jackson's babies.
