The question "What's going on in DC?" has become a recurring one among the fan circles of Major
League Soccer. It's a question that seems to be important to any fan of the game in this country.
Whether it be rabidly passionate supporters from the DC, Maryland and Virginia area or just general
MLS enthusiasts .
The team announced the sixth coach in team history today. It can be debated whether this was a good
move, but I, for one, will put faith that the club has done it's due diligence in making the
decision to have Curt Onalfo lead the charge starting this season. I believe there are reasons for
optimism:
1) Youthful, energetic coach, 2) His familiarity with the team ideals and staff, 3) His history of
working with young players in his time directing our United Youth Development program for two
years.
I could only imagine the title of this post said in a Brad Pitt, Inglorious Basterd accent. Thus,
the picture. So there is quite a lot going on right now, so lets recap.
New coach- CHECK
Roster- not so much check
Draft- soon to be check
Stadium- ZZZZZZZZZZZ (hopeful 2014 check)
Please refer to some earlier posts regarding the coaching position.
Not the Pratchett novel, but well worth reading... No, I'm talking about the acquisition of Adam
Cristman. Not that I'm anti-Cristman or anything (well, outside of that time his virtual self hit a
bomb that beat my FM2010 DC United side), but...
The Mehdi Ballouchy era in the midfield for Colorado came to an end on Tuesday.
The club announced that it had traded the midfielder to the New York Red Bulls for forward
Macoumba Kandji.
Acquired by the Rapids in a trade with Real Salt Lake on July 16, 2007, Ballouchy leaves
Colorado having played in 77 games for the club and scoring seven goals adding 18 assists.
