Robin van Persie's on an English Premier League record-setting pace this season as his hat trick
against a woeful Blackburn team on Feb. 4 upped his league total to 22 goals in 24 games. He's
already eclipsed last year's Golden Boot scoring record of 20 which was shared by Manchester City's
Carlos Tevez and Dmitar Berbatov of Manchester United and his own mark of 18 EPL goals.
There have been a fair few strikers that have come to Chelsea and have struggled to find their form
for one reason or another. Robert Fleck, Chris Sutton, Pierluigi Casiraghi and Mateja Kezman. All
outstanding strikers in football and like I say for one reason or another struggled to make an
impact at the club.
DU scored twice in the second half to tie No. 11 Notre Dame 2-2 on a rainy Friday evening at
Notre Dame's Alumni Stadium.
"Our group showed a lot of character to come back from two down against a quality team in Notre
Dame," head coach Bobby Muuss said. "Like Creighton, they are an opponent that can certainly be
playing the last weekend of the season.

Hodgson's Reign:
Starting with Hodgson's era and the horrific start to the season Liverpool had last year under
him. The things were shockingly worse for the Merseyside club.
Chelsea welcome the Canaries to Stamford Bridge for their first Premier League fixture on Fulham
Road since 2004. Overconfidence should not be problem following a difficult yet somewhat fruitful
start to the 2011-12 season but a win is clearly expected ahead of pivotal trips to the Stadium of
Light and Old Trafford.
During last January's transfer window a great deal of focus was on big name players and the one
that caught most of the attention of the media was Fernando Torres of Liverpool. Chelsea come along
and broke the bank with an English transfer fee record of £50 million. However, at the end of the
2010-2011 season Torres had 18 total appearances for Chelsea and scored just one goal.
Sigh heaped upon sigh.
After Wednesday's post celebrating Motherwell's 1991 Scottish Cup win I knew I had to redress the
balance.
Fast forward ten years.
Celtic win the Scottish Cup, complete the treble, with a comprehensive 3-0 win over my
Hibernian.
A cracking Celtic team it was.
Celtic 6-2 Rangers, August 2000 Your boys took one hell of a beating is a post from: Just

While Martin O'Neill's appointment as Celtic manager was warmly welcomed by the
club's fans in July 2000, the general consensus was that he would have a huge task on his hands to
build a successful side.
Since his record-breaking transfer to Chelsea, Fernando Torres has been compared to many former
big-money strikers from Shevchenko (by one of Soccerlens' own) to Chris Sutton.
And after a low-key debut against Liverpool where the tactics of both sides were analysed to
death (although few remembered that Steve Clarke, the former Chelsea assistant coach, now works
with Dalglish), it's worth remembering another record signing who took more than just a few games
(almost two seasons to be exact) to find his feet at his new 'big' club Dimitar Berbatov (who is,
according to the latest sports betting from BetUS, odds-on favourite to finish top goalscorer in
the Premier League this season what a turnaround from the last two seasons!
Liverpool and manager Kenny Dalglish have been widely praised for their tactical master class
against Chelsea on Sunday, which successfully snuffed out a Chelsea frontline including former Red
Fernando Torres for the first time.
His formation though was a throwback to the mid 90s and the early boom of the Premier League.
Calum writes at his blog Good Feet For A Big Man and tweets @calumcm ... This is his
favourite goal:
A goal's a goal, of course, and they all count the same. Except it isn't, and they don't. A
winner is better than a consolation, a 20-yarder better than a tap-in and a goal in the last minute
tops one in the first.
To make people think about how potentially frightening Chelsea FC will be in future years, I
want to start by claiming that Fernando Torres, for me, joins the club as not only the second
finest striker in world football but also the second best striker at Chelsea Football Club. Think
about it.
Curtis Davies joined Birmingham City in a deal likely to be worth £3.5m after being on the cusp
of rejoining what he called "Sven's revolution" at Leicester on loan. Sebastian Larsson will not be
coming as a make-weight, which is just as well as I've been racking my brains trying to think of a
player making the same switch directly and have drawn a blank.
