Pálsson (#44): The Newest VikingThe New York Red Bulls made the signing of Icelandic
international Victor Pálsson official today, confirming the player's recent comments on his
Twitter account that he had put pen to paper on a two year agreement. Pálsson, a rangy, physical

After last week's tumultuous events concerning the departures of Sebastien Le Toux and Faryd
Mondragon from the Philadelphia Union, and the cancellation of the WPS season, this week's
installment of the Philly Soccer Show podcast slows down the pace with a look at the Union as they
begin training camp in Orlando.
The Philadelphia Union announced, over Twitter, that along with second year goalkeeper Zac
MacMath, the team has former third stringer Chase Harrison and Chris Konopka, a former New York Red
Bulls goalkeeper, in their Florida training camp.
Union head coach Piotr Nowak has made it clear that he's both comfortable with heading into the
season with Harrison as MacMath's backup and no veteran goalkeeper on the roster.
Philadelphia Union
The Goalkeeper has a transcript of Wednesday's press conference with Peter Nowak. Among the
highlights:
On Pajoy: "He's a guy who brings not only character but also a
mentality to the game. He's very physical, and very fast as well. He can change the game, because
he's a different option.
The Union confirmed on Wednesday through the team's Twitter account that Zac MacMath is joined
in preseason training by Chase Harrison, who had temporarily joined the club late last season when
Faryd Mondragon and Thorne Holder were both out with injuries before the club declined the option
to sign him in November to make him available for the Re-Entry Draft.

when the new premier league holds it draft for "lesser known" and Indian players. Also, Neal Kitson
is on the move, joining Northampton Town of the Football League 2.

former club, Thrasyvoulos Fylis FC, who is currently at the bottom of the second division in
Greece. In other news, Ryan Smith has come out with his side of what happened when he left KC.

Another week of former SKC Wizards updates, some extra news this week as well. By now you've heard
about Craig Rocastle signing with the Missouri Comets, but there's other news as well. Eddie
Johnson's club career continues to spiral down for him, as he's already out at Puebla in Mexico.
Apparently the forward failed his physical and was not fit and was released basically 2 days after
showing up in Mexico.
An incredibly quiet week in former SKC Wizards news with the Christmas season in full affect. But

A day late on the former SKC Wizards update, but being a day late has given me a little extra news
to post. Word on the Twitter account for Mexican club, Puebla FC is that they are signing former
Wizards player, Eddie Johnson. Johnson would join the brother of another Wizard, as DaMarcus
Beasley also plays for Puebla FC.
Another former SKC Wizards Update, plenty of player movement this week. Jonathan Leathers, Rauwshan
McKenzie, and Ryan Pore are now without clubs after not being selected in the second stage of the
re-entry draft. They're joined by Shavar Thomas who also wasn't selected. Also looking for a new
club, is Stephane Auvray whose was let go by the Red Bulls.
Here is this week's former SKC Wizards update for you. No really big news this week when it comes
to former Wizards, so here's the update.

Another week of former SKC Wizards updates. The MLS season is over, but there's been a lot of busy
stuff going on this week. Today the league announced the players entered into the Re-entry draft,
plenty of former players are available, including Adam, Cristman, Taylor Graham, Frankie Hejduk,
Jonathan Leathers, Rauwshan McKenzie, Kurt Morsink, Ryan Pore, and Scott Sealy.
Here's your former SKC Wizards update for this week. Lots of news, including 6 new former Wizards.
Jeferson, Scott Lorenz, Craig Rocastle, Seth Sinovic, Ryan Smith, and Milos Stojcev are all now
classified officially as former Wizards. Also in the news is the movement of Tyson Wahl, who was
traded from Seattle to Montreal for allocation money.
This week's former SKC Wizards is up for you. A couple former Wizards could be on the move. Sunil
Chhetri is apparently getting ready to go on trial with Scottish club Rangers. Chhetri's had trials
in England previously, but had been unable to earn a work permit. Not sure how that will change
this time.

Another week of former SKC Wizards updates. Nick Cardenas is still getting looks from the Sporting
KC coaching staff and I'd expect him to be invited to preseason this coming year. Two other former
Wizards have taken coaching jobs under Jesse Marsch with the Montreal Impact. Preston Burpo has
been named the team's goalkeeper coach, while Mike Sorber has joined as an assistant coach.
Another week of former SKC Wizards updates, a day late due to last night's game. First,
congratulations to Boris Pardo who has re-signed with the Comets. Here's the rest of the

In what may be considered pretty close to a worst-case scenario, the Seattle Sounders announced
that backup goalkeeper Terry Boss was placed on the Disabled LIst, meaning he'll miss the rest of
the season. Boss suffered a concussion while playing for the Puerto Rico national team last Friday.
It was his second concussion in the past six week, as he suffered a similar injury against
Manchester United in the July friendly.
Here's this week's former SKC Wizards update. Not many matches this week as lots of teams were off

Another update on former Wizards. Nothing big player news wise, but an interesting quote from
Aberdeen's coach in response to rumors of Eddie Johnson moving to the club. Basically he said that
he'd heard of the player but he hadn't scored a goal in years. Makes you want to say ouch for the
former Wizard.
Here is this week's former Wizards update. It's one player short this week, as the Portland-Chivas
game with Jack Jewsbury is on going at the time of this post.

Another former SKC Wizards update a day late due to the game last night. Some big news involving
former Wizards this week. First, the big announcement that one of the greatest Wizards of all time,
Jimmy Conrad is hanging them up and taking a job with the Chivas USA staff. A smart move for Conrad
who hasn't played since early this season due to a concussion.

"It is what it is" says Thierry Henry every time I attend New York Red Bulls training at
Montclair State University. And it is what it is with this club with another draw after ninety
minutes -- for the thirteenth time this season. And this was against the side that is dead last in
the Eastern Conference, Chicago Fire.
By Clemente Lisi – NEW YORK, NY (Aug 15, 2011) US Soccer Players -- Chris Konopka has spent the
past year chasing his dream of playing in Major League Soccer. On Saturday night, Konopka got a
chance to live that dream when he started for the New York Red Bulls before a sellout crowd of
25,000. "All in all, for my League debut, I enjoyed it," said Konopka, who surrendered two goals as
New York.
LITTLE FALLS, N.J. Alan Koger and Zack Schilawski each scored for the New England Revolution
reserves as they beat the New York Red Bulls 2-0 on Saturday morning. The victory was the first for
New England's reserves (1-2-1, 4 points) and kept New York's reserves (0-3-0) winless on the
season.
Alan Koger scored his first MLS Reserve Division goal on Saturday morning.
