The U.S. Men's National Team last faced Canada in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, but it's been more
than 13 years since the teams met on Canadian soil. With the U.S. and Canada set to face each other
in Toronto at 7 p.m. ET on June 3, we took a look at the history between the sides and found some
interesting facts.
Continuing the stat updating for you tonight, it's time to update the 10,000 minute club.
In league play one new player joined the 10,000 minute club, as Michael Harrington became the 12th
player for Kansas City, Davy Arnaud also jumped up 1 spot on the list moving ahead of Jimmy Conrad.
Since it'd been a few days without a post I figured I'd give you a second post today as well on
stats. This time it's all competition goal scorers for Sporting KC in their history. First here are
some previous years for you.
1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010
On the list this year we add two new players to the list this season, other than that we see no
movement on the list this year.
More stats to update for you. This time it's the leading scorers in MLS play now through the 2011
season. First here are links back to the previous years.
1996 - 1997 - 1998 - 1999 - 2000 - 2001 - 2002 - 2003 - 2004 - 2005 - 2006 - 2007 - 2008 - 2009 -
2010
One new player joins the list this year, and another continues to shoot up the list.
One more new stat before I start doing some updating on some of the stats I already had been
tracking. Today it's a look at landmark goals for KC. I'm tracking league goals, competitive goals,
both home and away. I'm also tracking US Open Cup, playoff, and international goals, but those 3
won't be listed here simply due to lack of many landmark goal numbers.
Another new stat for you today regarding Sporting KC. And it's another single season stat. Here's a
list of the top ten single season appearances and starts.
Top ten appearances in league play in a single season.
1. CJ Sapong - 34 - 2011
2. Preki - 32 - 1996

So one of the longest careers in Sporting Kansas City Wizards history ended today with Davy Arnaud
being traded from Sporting Kansas City to the Montreal Impact for Seth Sinovic and allocation
money. I've never been good at eloquently writing down how good a player was for this team or how
much I'll miss seeing them in a Kansas City jersey.
Former Galaxy greats Cobi Jones and Chris Klein marked the installation of two Starlight
Children's Foundation FunCenters at Children's Hospital Los Angeles Wednesday ahead of MLS Cup.

Here are your Thursday After Stats for last night's Open Cup game.
Michael Harrington made his 148th appearance for KC in all competitions, breaking his tie with
Diego Gutierrez for 13th place on that list.
Harrington also made his 11th appearance in all Open Cup competitions, moving him into a tie with
Preki for 4th on that list.
Here are some stats from last night's US Open Cup game.
Kevin Ellis became the first player from the Wizards Juniors program to make an appearance for KC's
first team.
Kei Kamara's goal was his 15th in all competitions for KC, he's the 20th player to score that many
goals in his KC career.
Hot stuff: Former Galaxy midfield general Mauricio Cienfuegos has returned to the club as a
coach (Daily Breeze file photo).
Mauricio Cienfuegos, the diminutive Salvadoran who made more than 200 hugely influential
appearances for the Galaxy in an eight-year career with the club that ended in 2003, is returning
as technical coach for the LA Galaxy Academy.
Juninho battles Shalrie Joseph in the Galaxy's 1-0 win at New England on May 28th.
Three games in eight days has become almost routine for the Los Angeles Galaxy
this season, and for a few other teams as well, as the schedule makes room for not on the US Open
Cup, and the CONCACAF Champions League, but also the CONCACAF Championship, the Gold Cup with the
winner getting a slot in the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2013 in Brazil.
One week to go.
One week to MLS First Kick 2011 and the opening of a do-or-die season for the Los Angeles
Galaxy. I recently wrote that 2011 was Bruce Arena's MLS Cup or Bust season.
But of all the teams that could be considered contenders for MLS Cup at this point, you have to
like the Galaxy to bring it all home.

The 2011 MLS season, the 16th edition since play began in 1996, starts in one month.
No matter how you look at the off-season moves that Arena and crew made, there can be only one
conclusion: Bruce Arena sees this year as the year he brings the Cup back to Los Angeles.
Continuing to update my offseason stat information here on the blog. This time I'm updating the
10,000 minute club for the Wizards/Sporting KC. For league minutes, there was a new player added to
the list, as Josh Wolff hit the 10,000 minute mark in league play, becoming the 11th Wizards player
to hit that mark.
Continuing my stats updating for the 2010 season, here are the top goal scorers in all competitions
for KC through the 2010 season. First is previous years so you can see the progression of the goal

There's only one addition to this list goal wise that wasn't on the list from earlier today, and
that's Teal Bunbury's goal in the US Open Cup qualifier against Colorado.
Time to start catching up on all my post season stat information. Here is the list of top scorers
through the 2010 season. First here are the previous years for you if you want to see how the list

There wasn't a whole lot of movement on the list this year for KC as a lot of the players on the
list have moved on, but there are still a few active players on the list.
