What does it take for any other player other than RVP to score goals? It is now official, he's not pretending any more - Theo Walcott has a mind made of mush in front of goal. Always. Aaron Ramsey is another. The Ox too for all his brightness was presented with a clear chance.

So what? Referees are paid to make decisions.
But what is it that influences the decisions that Grandad makes?
In 21 matches refereeing Manchester United over eight seasons, the Reds have won 15, drawn 6 and lost 0.

Vincent Kompany was rightly sent off for a two footed challenge on Nani at the weekend in a game that saw Manchester City knocked out of the FA Cup.

Nani got out of the way of the challenge, saving himself from getting hurt, and Wayne Rooney complained to referee Chris Foy.

After the game, Roberto Mancini claimed that the challenge was "300%" not a red card and accused Rooney of influencing the ref.

Let's face it, yesterday's Manchester derby was awful. Yes, there were goals and a spirited second-half fightback from City after an understandably poor first-half display.

But the game was ruined as a fair contest by Chris Foy and Wayne Rooney in the eleventh minute. Anyone who knows the rules of football intimately will understand that Foy's decision to send off City captain Vincent Kompany for his tackle on Nani was plainly wrong.

Those that have been watching long enough will argue if Kompany's tackle was really worth the red card. A few years ago, it would have been a brilliant tackle but now considered a foul, but honestly to fans on both sides, was it really worth a red card?

A very debatable decision in the Man United vs Man City game, with Vincent Kompany given a straight red card for his two-footed tackle on Nani. Kompany jumped in to the challenge and had both feet off the ground, albeit not very high off the ground, and completely won the ball in the tackle. The referee Chris Foy seemed to ignore the challenge at first, there were no complaints from Nani as he lay on the floor without the ball, but Rooney was close to the referee and complained that it was a bad tackle which very may have influenced the referee and pressured him into handing Kompany a straight red card.

Recent games have dealt with the notion of ‘Arry as a tactical buffoon in no uncertain manner. In days gone by the signing of VDV, the plan to loan Bale to Nottingham Forest and the instruction to Pav to "go out there and f***ing run about" did little for our glorious leader's reputation as tactical genius, and was grist to the mill of a whole army or interweb critics (mea culpa) who lambasted him for doing little more than closing his eyes, pinning a tail on a donkey and accepting the plaudits as his blind gamble paid off.

Never have Premier League referees had a tougher time than right now. In my view, Mark Clattenburg blundered when David Silva went over in the box at Chelsea on Monday night. Chris Foy, wrong on three crucial calls which went against Tottenham on Sunday, was even worse.

Hi everyone,
As most of you have seen the game between Stoke and Tottenham there were a few questionable decisions made by the referee Chris Foy.
First I think its right to talk about Peter Crouch's handling of the ball before setting up the goal. It could be said that the referee did not have a clear view of the incident, however the fact that the assistant referee could have signaled should not be ignored.
