Weekend Soccer Television Schedule - 14/15 November 2009

World Club Rankings 13 November @ 04:03 PM EST

Late again this week, but this time I'm blaming being busy in Buenos Aires, though I am. This week, I'm blaming the off again/on again wifi that I have where I am living in Buenos Aires. I move next week and I'm hoping it will improve then.

European club football takes the weekend off, so there are fewer much fewer matches this week than in recent weeks.

Chivas y su poca paciencia. Raúl Arias fuera del Guadalajara

FutblogMexicano 03 November @ 01:43 PM EST

This Weekend's Soccer on TV

Soccer By Ives 23 October @ 02:45 PM EST

Call it Rafa's Last Stand.

When Manchester United travels to Anfield on Sunday to take on Liverpool, the defending EPL champions will have a very real chance of beating the struggling Reds and pushing Rafa Benitez one step closer to the exit door.

Liverpool has already lost four matches this year in the EPL, and dropped more points in Champions League at mid-week, making Sunday's match a virtual must-win for the under-fire Spanish manager.

Weekend Soccer Television Schedule - 24/25 October

World Club Rankings 22 October @ 06:39 PM EST

We are now in high gear with the regular season in club football and the schedule demonstrates it. I lost count at 40-something as the number of matches being broadcast this weekend. It should be enough to keep people with even the most severe cases of football-ADD happy.

By our calculus, the match of the weekend takes place in Germany on Sunday when Schalke 04 hosts Hamburger SV because that's the only match featuring a pair of WCR Top 25 Clubs.

CD Guadalajara 2 Chivas USA 0

I "watched" this one on TV and this description of the alleged action by reporter Phil Collin is apt: "The first half was like a family reunion with everyone sitting in the living room trying to dream up something to talk about."

Still, that didn't prevent a Chivas USA player from suffering a potentially serious injury (bet Preki is thrilled with that).
