Last night the Rapids held a Supporters Forum at Fado's in Lodo. I was unable to attend, but the
big news that came out of the forum was that Colorado is pursuing a young #10-style Argentine
midfielder. No details have been leaked on his name or his background but there may be a new
arrival from South America in Commerce City soon.
The beginning of the 2012 Major League Soccer season is right around the corner and the folks
over at MLS Soccer have released their first preseason power rankings. As expected the LA Galaxy
are on top, while the New England Revolution get no love, as MLS Soccer ranks them below the
expansion side Montreal Impact.

Academia del Chelsea para probarse con el equipo londinense el próximo febrero.
Durante las visorias que hizo el cuadro inglés hace par de días en la ciudad de Monterrey, Nuevo
León, el originario de Monclova llamó la atención a la gente de los "Blues" luego de estar tres
días en un campamento organizado por el club londinense y al cual asistieron 346 niños.

The MLS SuperDraft is Thursday, Jan. 12 and for a few players in camp, it's the day they could
finally realize a childhood dream of turning professional. Two players in camp have had their name
tossed around in the various mock drafts building up to tomorrow's big event in Kansas City.
Defender Andrew Wenger out of Duke traveled to the Midwest to be a part of the proceedings and
forward Kelyn Rowe out of UCLA will be watching events unfold from his hotel room here in Southern
California.

Chivas tuvo un cierre de torneo complicado, eliminado en casa contra Querétaro, ahora la
afición esta molesta porque no hubo refuerzos para este semestre lo que significa que tendrán que
pelear con sus mismos elementos en este torneo, además chivas participara en la copa libertadores,
y es posible que haya que restarle a los jugadores que sean seleccionados para los diferentes
representativos mexicanos que tendrán actividad este año.

y en la liguilla del Apertura 2011 fue realmente espectacular.
We're about a week and a half away from the MLS Superdraft in Kansas City. It's the first of two
drafts for the league, with a supplemental draft following a week later. KC have their natural 16th
pick in the 1st round of the Superdraft, and then have the 30th selection in the second round. That
selection came from FC Dallas in the trade that sent Kevin Hartman to Dallas.
I'm not gonna lie, my motivation is that I have spent much of the day watching the last day of
the professional tackle-football season and watching playoff scenarios and seedings fall into
place. It all gets me thinking about how the MLS is going to work going forward.
Yeah, okay, that's a reach, but bear with me.

Who surprises you the most?
One more new stat before I start doing some updating on some of the stats I already had been
tracking. Today it's a look at landmark goals for KC. I'm tracking league goals, competitive goals,
both home and away. I'm also tracking US Open Cup, playoff, and international goals, but those 3
won't be listed here simply due to lack of many landmark goal numbers.
The post from yesterday regarding the youngest and oldest players to ever appear for Sporting KC
was spawned by the fact that earlier this year, Soony Saad, on his debut became the youngest goal
scorer in the Wizards history when he scored against the Portland Timbers on his 19th birthday.
With that in mind, here are the youngest and oldest goal scorers in KC's history.

USL PDL Open Qualifying Change
According to the Kitsap Pumas (linked above) they automatically qualify for the 2012 Lamar Hunt
US Open Cup since they won their division. Joining them would be the Portland Timbers U-23 side, as
they were the best remaining American team.
Other qualifiers based on last year's standings in the PDL (and assuming that this is true for
all PDL divisions) would be the Michigan Bucks, Chicago Fire, Des Moinse Menace, Real Colorado
Foxes, Long Island Rough Riders, Reading United, MPS Portland Phoenix, New Hampshire Phantoms,
Carolina Dynamo, Northern Virginia Royals, Laredo Heat, Chivas El Paso Patriots, Mississippi
Brilla, Central Florida Kraze (now Orlando City U-23), Fresno Fuego, Ventura County Fusion
Now that would be 18, so I may be jumping the gun.

The rumors have been around basically since the season ended. The fact that Omar Bravo had only
played 5 minutes in Sporting KC's playoff run certainly did nothing to temper those rumors. In the
offseason Bravo's been linked with every club in Guadalajara, from Chivas to cash strapped Tecos.

Sporting KC isn't going to be on national television for their season opener, but the announcement
does narrow the field for who Sporting KC could play on the first weekend. The national broadcasts

this year's expansion side, Montreal in Vancouver.
