Early Doors

The dominos are really starting to fall now.
Villa close to Dunne deal
Villa clinch Warnock deal
Dunne will offer them experience in the heart of defence, something they've been missing since Martin Laursen retired. Not the Dunne is the same player, but they can't rely on Davies and Cuellar all season. Click to continue reading...

Doncaster - Spurs Preview; Plus Some Tottenham Transfer Musings

All Action, No Plot 26 August @ 07:06 AM EST

Well truth be told I've found this all a little unsettling so far. Top of the league, three wins in three - and looking good value for it too. This is not the Tottenham I grew up with. The Tottenham I know and love would consistently let me down. Capitulate from positions of seeming invulnerability.

Tottenham Hotspur Season Preview

Fantasy EPL 12 August @ 07:13 PM EST
Another year, another bandwagon for Spurs to make it into Europe or even break into the elite. But while there are signs of progress, it wouldn't be Spurs without their seemingly repeating their mistakes. So for every good signing like Palacios, who gives them a real presence in midfield, there is a head-scratcher like Naughton. Click to continue reading...

Spurs Sign Young Full-Backs - But Will We Ever See Them?

All Action, No Plot 22 July @ 04:59 PM EST

So, our first signings of the summer are announced – and rather curiously they are more full-backs. The trendily-named Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker – 20 and 19 respectively – may sound like characters from Starship Troopers, but they are now lilywhites, plucked from Sheff Utd for anywhere between 5 and 10 mil, depending on which website you trust.

You can Duff off

White Hart Pain 29 June @ 03:09 AM EST

I've heard some sick jokes in my time where Tottenham's transfer targets are concerned but Damien Duff would certainly make the top ten. I'm sure this must be some kind of wind up, I'd rather pull Andy Sinton back out of retirement than sign this leprechaun.

Go back four years or so and yes, I would have been very happy to see him in a Spurs shirt but at 30 years of age with his injury record and lack of decent form for as long as I can remember, no thank you very much.

Spurs Reserves - By Far The Greatest Team The World Has Ever Seen. Honest.

All Action, No Plot 18 March @ 06:47 AM EST
The official Spurs website is astonishing, a propaganda machine almost Orwellian in its slant on life. On tottenhamhotspur.com the sun always shines, the good guys always win and there is no third-world poverty. In fact, there's probably no third-world at all, in this planet of fuzzy smiles and merry unicorns. Click to continue reading...

Sunderland - Spurs Preview: Not Good Enough for MoTD

All Action, No Plot 06 March @ 10:39 AM EST
A bit of a bonus game this. Somehow, amidst the hurly-burly of all those cup excursions, we've earned ourselves a game in hand - and the opportunity to haemorrhage blood from the nose by hitting the dizzy heights of tenth, within five points of West Ham in the likely Uefa spot of seventh. Even more [. Click to continue reading...

Tough Choices.

Spurs musings from JimmyG2 21 February @ 04:37 PM EST
Well it seems that the realisation that we might in fact get relegated has caused consternation and confusion in the ranks, especially over Harry's team that played against Shaktar on Thursday. Is avoiding relegation the only game in town now? Or do we because of our fine history, cup record and to show faith with the fans need to go for everything and not subject ourselves to the indignity of prioritisation? Click to continue reading...

Transfer window in Premier League - summary

Soccer Pie 08 February @ 03:29 AM EST
The madness is over, the phones are silenced, and January transfer window is closed. With all the snow and traffic collapse in London, the news of the day was Andrei Arshavin's transfer to Arsenal. A real soap opera lasted over 24 hours, minute after minute contradictory news arrived and it even seemed that nothing is [. Click to continue reading...

Spurs’ Transfer Window Doings Get The Thumbs Up

All Action, No Plot 04 February @ 10:02 AM EST
Believe it or not, back at the start of the transfer window most of the talk at the Lane was whether or not Stewart One-Trick Downing would dip his right shoulder, dart out to the left and pitch up in N17. Seems an age ago now, n'est-ce pas? And who would have possibly imagined back [...] Click to continue reading...

Click to continue reading...

Some very strange goings on at White Hart Lane

Soccer Pie 28 January @ 05:30 AM EST
Tottenham have been one of the busiest Premier League sides in this current transfer window. It is no real surprise really, they're in a very precarious position in the league and have brought in a new manager who will want to reshape the side. There is one strange aspect though, a lot of [...] Click to continue reading...

Has Harry Redknapp gone mad?

Pro Soccer Weekly 26 January @ 11:42 PM EST
I am beginning to think that now that Harry Redknapp is at Tottenham, a club where he has some money to spend that he is starting to let it all go to his head. Why in the world would he persist in bringing back Jermain Defoe, now Pascal Chimbonda, and the latest rumor has him trying to bring Robbie Keane back to the club. Click to continue reading...

Hugo Rodallega, delantero internacional [. Click to continue reading...

Click to continue reading...

Sunderland Football: Tottenham floored by Sunderland

Football Focus 24 August @ 05:23 AM EST
Sunderland Football: Keano's proving a slippery Black Cat as Tottenham are stunned
So Sunderland football and the FA Premier League do mix! Roy Keano is beginning to show signs of not only being a fierce man motivator, but a real canny mover in the transfer market as well.
His Sunderland football side has been beefed up with proven Premiership players this year, and boy does it show, and with Anton Ferdinand another likely arrival you really can't see Sunderland and Keano boys struggling in the Premiership this year. Click to continue reading...

Is Roy Keane playing with fire at Sunderland?

Pro Soccer Weekly 22 August @ 10:49 PM EST
Another great article from former Republic of Ireland forward Tony Cascarino, where Tony questions the recent signings that Keane has made including Pascal Chimbonda, El Hadji Diouf, and Djibril Cisse. I disagree with Tony on his views though as I think Roy is doing the best he can within his resources to bring in players that can help make Sunderland a respectable team within the Premier League and keep them out of a relegation battle. Sunderland manager looking to raid Fulham, Blackburn and West Ham for new players

Caught Offside 20 August @ 08:52 AM EST
There are just ten days left before the transfer window slams shut for four months, and the Black Cats are in the hunt for another haul of players. Are Tottenham the richest club in the premiership?

Spurs Eye 14 August @ 08:23 AM EST
If the news that Levy is now holding out for £32m for Berbatov is true, it will put the transfer right up there as the biggest in British history, joint top with Carlos Tevez who Utd are thought to be spending the same amount on.
The comings and goings at WHL this close season surely rival that of any other summer, but the figures this year have been off the charts compared to previous seasons. Click to continue reading...

Great News For Sunderland Fans

Football To You 06 August @ 03:18 AM EST
It was feared that Kenwyne Jones would miss a hefty chunk of the season at the Stadium of Light but the Sunderland hitman received a dose of good news after exploratory knee surgery revealed that the injury he suffered after a clash with David James is not as bad as first expected. The Black Cats forward has been linked with a host of top clubs including Liverpool and Chelsea and recieved high praise of Chelsea skipper John Terry who described him as being "the best in the air in the entire Premier League". Tainio’s gone, brings a tear to my eye

White Hart Pain 24 July @ 04:36 AM EST
Teemu Tainio has completed his move to Sunderland. While he didn't exactly set the world alight while at Tottenham, I always felt he gave 100% and was willing to play out of position for the good of the team.
Of all the players on the fringe of the first team, I think I'd always want him in the side before anyone else. Click to continue reading...

Spurs and Valencia agree £8 million deal for defender

Football Corner 07 July @ 12:08 PM EST
Valencia have today agreed an £8 million fee which will see Tottenham defender Pascal Chimbonda join the La Liga giants. Chimbonda has struggled to nail down a place in the Spurs starting eleven ever since Juande Ramos took charge last year, Alan Hutton taking his place at right-back.
Chimbonda joined the North London club back in 2006 after a very successful season at Wigan. Click to continue reading...

Chimbonda lets off his daily moan.

Caught Offside 08 January @ 10:33 AM EST
Another day another moan from Pascal Chimbonda, the man who laughs when asked to play centre back, who used Wigan as a "stepping stone" and likes slapping Butts (Nicky that is)... Paul Robinson costs Spurs 3 points

Football is for the Madman 01 October @ 05:20 PM EST
If you need any more proof that Paul Robinson is complete rubbish, today's Aston Villa-Tottenham match provided plenty. The guy shouldn't be the Spurs number one, yet alone England's.
The first goal is a complete joke. Robinson fails to secure the ball after catching it off a corner and after bouncing off Pascal Chimbonda's foot, it falls to Martin Laursen who slams it home. Click to continue reading...
