With a deal for a near-as-dammit unknown 19-year old centre-back from the third tier of English
football already tied up, this summer has already ready been rather hectic in Arsenal
terms, though the club's chief executive, Ivan Gazidis has vowed that there will be a distinct
turnover of players at the Emirates this close season.
According to the Guardian, Arsenal are prepared to have a busy summer transfer
window with a few players leaving and several new faces joining the club. Chief executive
Ivan Gazidis said,
"Coming off the end of the season, I share with you a sense of profound disappointment.
I thought that Peter Kenyon said some stupid things when he was at Chelsea, but the comments by
Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay surpass anything that Kenyon ever said.
Gourlay was in Asia ahead of Chelsea's tour there this summer and was asked about Chelsea firing
Carlo Ancelotti one year after he won the double.

There is something almost ironic about writing such a post when the season is well over and
the summer sun is out (well, most of the time). You can thank Fabio Capello for bringing the
subject up again...
It's a debate that is slowly becoming a one-way argument. Sir Alex Ferguson wants it.
Yesterday, in a question and answer session with the Arsenal Supporter's Trust, Arsenal chief
executive Ivan Gazidis expressed his disappointment at how the club finished last season, it's
sixth consecutive season without a trophy. He ...
When one thinks of Manchester United, Sir Alex almost immediately comes to mind. He represents,
passion, pride, intellect, desire and most of all - winning. For most United fans, the idea of
the Red Devils being coached by none other than the Scot is just simply unthinkable. Since 1986,
Sir Alex's tenure with the club has been rich in great achievements featuring some of the best
players ever.
Former Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry expects that Liverpool's U.S. owners, New England
Sports Ventures, will conclude that building a new ground, rather than redeveloping Anfield, is the
way forward.
"The new owners have been very smart in not making any false promises or predictions," Parry
told Sportsweek on BBC Radio Five Live.
Former chief executive Rick Parry expects Liverpool's owners to build a new stadium rather than
redevelop Anfield.
Fenway Sports Group are still considering their options but have admitted that increasing capacity
at Anfield is fraught with problems.
Parry, who was the Reds' chief executive in 2008 when plans to build a new ground were shelved due
to a lack of cash, believes FSG will conclude that taking up the lease in Stanley Park is the best
way forward.
Atlético Madrid fans have adopted green and gold scarves in protest against chief executive
Miguel Angel Gil Marin and president Enrique Cerezo.
They initially used blue and white scarves, the colours of their first kit, but felt like these
weren't different enough from their current colours which differs only by having additional
red.
According to James Pearce at the Liverpool Echo, Aston Villa winger
Stewart Downing has decided not to commit to a new deal with the club right now,

and that my agent had a recent meeting with our chief executive (Paul Faulkner).
Athletico Madrid chief executive Minguel Angel Gil Marin insists Real Madrid won't be making a deal
with Sergio Aguero.

"[Florentino Perez] has told me he has no intention of signing Aguero and I do not doubt him," Gil
Marin told Spanish newspaper AS.
While the retirement of Paul Scholes shouldn't really have any bearing on the future of Luka
Modric, writers of football's gossip columns have put two and two together and come up with about
£25m for a United move for Luka at the latest count. As a result, a story that was already doing
the rounds has gained even more momentum following Scholes' announcement.
Tevez: Manchester City have told me I can leave - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has revealed that the club's multi-billionaire owner Sheikh
Mansour has told him he can leave the club if that is to make him happy.
The Argentine international has been very unsteady throughout the season and now well into the
transfer period, and with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and AC Milan reportedly sighting the
27-year-old, Tevez has long been interested in a move away from Eastlands.
"There was an overwhelming desire to follow and be led. There was a real desire among
the members for someone to take the game by the scruff of the neck and say 'let's change'.
"There was a recognition that we needed to do things differently and there was a real frustration
and dissatisfaction with how we were.

selling the club or adding to the clubs debt.
Chelsea's chief executive, Ron Gourlay met with the press yesterday and had some interesting
comments about Chelsea's next manager and summer signings.
"As far as the manager is concerned, the process is going well but now is not the time for me to
comment on who the next manager is going to be.
It hasn't been the best of weeks for the Premier League. If it had thought that its jettisoning
of funding for Supporters Direct would be largely uncommented upon by the press, they were perhaps
under-estimating the effects of their hasty decision. The pick of the bunch came from Marina Hyde,
whose systematic takedown of Richard Scudamore bordered upon the artful in cutting
through the PR talk and mealy-mouthed justifications for their swingeing actions, but there were
also worthy comments of note on the matter from David Conn, Martin
Samuel and Dan Roan of the BBC.
Executives of A-League club Perth Glory gave supporters and members an insight into sports

"The offer was made formally in writing to our chief executive (Ivan Gazidis), and we said
no straight away.

Riots hit the top-flight The Premier League opener between Tottenham and Everton has been postponed
because of ongoing worries about rioting in London. The decision was announced by Premier League
chief executive Richard Scudamore this morning (we're just surprised he didn't suggest the fixture
be played in Malaysia).
This Saturday's Premier League clash between Tottenham and Everton has officially been postponed
due to the London riots which have destroyed many parts of the area surrounding White Hart
Lane.
Despite calls from Spurs manager Harry Redknapp to keep the game on, Premier League chief

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has admitted that his side would like to sign Manchester City winger
Shaun Wright-Phillips, although raised concerns over the player's wages.
Wright-Phillips hasn't seen much playing time at Manchester City since returning from Chelsea,
and would be a welcome addition at the Reebok Stadium as Coyle builds another strong Bolton
side.
Tottenham's Premier League match with Everton on Saturday has been postponed because of the

The chairman of Uefa's Financial Control Panel, Jean-Luc Dehaene says that he wants more details
on Manchester City's 10-year deal, £400m sponsorship deal with Etihad Airways. Etihad will now
sponsor both the club's shirt and the stadium. The deal has drawn criticism that it is an attempt
to circumvent European football's strict new financial rules due to the close ties between Etihad
(which is owned by the Abu Dhabi government) and Man City (Aby Dhabi's ruler is City owner Sheikh
Mansour's half-brother).

Former Coach Ray Junna said:
''That link is still important with whoever is the coach there [at Canberra United]

In early August 2010, I was privileged to get a meeting with Ivan Gazidis the chief executive of

Why Arsenal should unveil a statue of Tony Adams and Bendtner sums up size of challenge
for O'Neill
Arsenal are set to unveil three statues of club heroes outside the Emirates on Friday. I hope
one of them is of Tony Adams. Not because he was once an alcoholic, a braggart and a drink driver
but because he had the courage and the will to conquer his problems.
Not everyone is in favour of a ten team SPL
In the continuing struggle to find a format to make the Scottish Premier League more interesting
it is quite astonishing that the top administrators can think of nothing more radical than to
reduce the number of teams in the top flight from twelve to ten.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Wolverhampton chief executive Jez
Moxey admitted that the club is pursuing two or three new signings although they lost out
on one target today, Steve Sidwell. Moxey said,

IN a move that has surprised commentators throughout Scottish Football, the SPL have supported
terms to introduce a 10-team premier league.
The proposed new league format seemed to be out of favour after being tabled my SPL Chief
Executive Neil Doncaster back in November, attracting criticism and opponents from the off.
