those of the media.

Premier League sources have confirmed that the play-off proposal was presented at the most
recent meeting of all clubs, on 4 February, and the league's chief executive, Richard Scudamore,
was authorised to return with further details in April.
It is understood that the idea was enthusiastically supported by all clubs – except the
so-called big four of Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Chelsea have announced on their official website that they will play against a Thailand XI on July
24th 2011 @ Rajamangala Stadium, Bangkok (pictured below). The match is part of Chelsea's Asia tour

2011/12 EPL season.
The gloves are well and truly off in the run up to Dec 2, when we'll find out whether its
England, Russian or Spain/Portugal that hosts the 2018 World Cup. While the latter bid is mired in
some controversy about vote fixing, England and Russia are the leading bids, and the Russians are
playing a high risk strategy to get the bid.
On the day that Portsmouth announced they were going into administration Arsenal announced that
they have reduced the clubs debt by almost 40% to £203.6 million by selling more of the apartments

Can you name the mystery man shaking hands with United Chief Executive David Gill? Well neither
could I until about 2 minutes ago! That's because he's apparently a somewhat (completely) unknown

basic facts, as reported by a variety of news organizations:
1) Bebe's real name is "Tiago Manuel Dias Correia", and he was born on July 12,

I'm probably a week late with this article, but so much has been going on that there just wasn't
time to squeeze it in. This isn't directly relevant to Arsenal and thanks to Arsene I don't think
we will ever be in such a situation at least during my life time. Portsmouth though, might still
have a say in the title race when they host Chelsea.
Safa have just announced that an Iron on Protea badge will be available for the Bafana Bafana

selling for different amounts.
Converting two key penalties en route to Celtic's triumph in the Fenway Football Challenge may
not be enough to convince manager Neil Lennon about the utility of Greek striker Georgios Samaras.
In fact, a promising display including another penalty - in a 3-1 friendly defeat to Manchester
United in Toronto may not have done the trick either.
Garry Cook, the Manchester City chief executive, has hinted at the club's escalating rivalry with
Manchester United by admitting in the documentary Blue Moon Rising that Old Trafford's banner

Wilkins will not be offered a new contract and has been told to leave the club 'with
immediate effect'.
This from the Chelsea website:
"Chelsea Football Club chief executive Ron Gourlay has announced today that the board has
decided not to renew Ray Wilkins' contract.
CHELSEA sources have revealed Ray Wilkins may have been fired as assistant manager following a
boardroom snub to owner Roman Abramovich.
Wilkins, linked with Chelsea for 37 years before the club announced last week he would be

The Football Association chief executive resigned on 18th March 2010 after about nine months in the

Danny Wilson's dream move to Liverpool has stalled - because the young Rangers defender does not
meet a 'homegrown' quota system being introduced by the English Premier League.
Now the cash-strapped Ibrox club could lose out on up to £3million if the 18-year-old remains in
Glasgow next season before leaving when his contract expires.
Twice, he failed. As he stands on the cusp of taking over at Real Madrid, he seems determined to
make it third time lucky.
Mourinho first approached Liverpool's captain after taking charge at Stamford Bridge in 2004,
