This is Oliver Gill, a centre-back in Man Utd's reserves.
If the face looks slightly familiar, that's because he's the son of David Gill, United's chief
executive:
"David, I'm sorry to tell you this, but your boy Oliver makes William Prunier look like
Franco fucking Baresi.
Everton will enter into new talks with Liverpool City Council over a new stadium. A date of 11
January has been set aside for the two sides to meet following the rejection of a planning
application for a new stadium in Kirkby.
That proposed £400m development of a 50,000-seater stadium, in partnership with Tesco, collapsed
last month.
If you want to better understand the Premier League's position on digital rights, go ahead and
read Premier League Chief Executive Richard Scudamore's letter that was published in The
Guardian last week on the topic of The Digital Economy Bill. The proposed legislation would
kick accused, not convicted, file sharers off the Internet in the United Kingdom.
George Gillett, the American businessman who co-owns English soccer club Liverpool, will receive
US$550 million after his sale of the Montreal Canadiens NHL franchise was approved.
The deal represents a huge profit on the US$275 million Gillett paid for his share of the franchise
in 2001.
Tea-lady's nephew next on Fergie's wanted list Manchester United have called the son of their chief
executive into their first-team squad to combat their defensive injury crisis. David Gill's son,
Oliver, is now in contention to play against Wolfsburg in this evening's Champions League match.
Fergie said: "If he's good enough, he plays.

"Right now, there are impending talks with some players'representatives ... Michael
Dunford (chief executive) and I will get down to that in the coming weeks when we can have

The Los Angeles Galaxy had a "major player announcement" on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 that
turned out to be a new four year contract extension for captain Landon Donovan. Currently, Donovan
had a base salary of $900,000 and the extension is rumored to be a significant increase from that

Few could be forgiven for thinking that Mick McCarthy had fielded his Under Eight side and not
his reserves at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
Following the 3-0 defeat everyone has had a pop at the former Ireland boss. The press, the
pundits, his fans and even Arsene Wenger managed to see his wrongs.
During the takeover of Manchester City last summer, City's Chief Executive, Gary Cook made
several rather tasteless comments but one stood out above all the others for me. During an
interview with the Daily Telegraph, Cook was outlining City's plan for world domination. As
Wednesday's defeat at Tottenham showed, sometimes things don't go to plan.
After an emotionally charged weekend in football management, many different stories have circulated
the news. Whether true or not, they make interesting reading. Firstly, you will read how Hughes
told his players at Man City, who have shown a surprising amount of team-spirit and lack of dissent
throughout their first half-season together, to "finish the job" just before their 4-3 win over
Sunderland, a moving message which has led Craig Bellamy's workers revolt to the desk of chief
executive Gary Cook.
Manchester City's press conference to unveil Roberto Mancini as their new manager didn't
exactly go as planned. Chief executive Garry Cook was caught in a fib about when talks with Mancini
regarding Mark Hughes' job began and the questions from the press were preoccupied with the sacked
manager.
Manchester City have today slammed the media coverage of yesterday's press conference at which
new manager Roberto Mancini was unveiled.
News reports highlighted what was a perceived inconsistency between the responses of Mancini and
chief executive Garry Cook when it came to the precise timing of the club's approach to the
Italian.
We never thought these words would ever appear on the pages of Footy Factor. The
beleagured chief executive of Man City, Garry Cook, is being criticised by
those two-faced journalists for speaking with potential replacements for Mark Hughes
before Sparky was given the sack.
Most of us would agree that it appears very likely that Stan Kroenke may be the new owner of
Arsenal Football Club in the near future. The American billionaire has been slowly purchasing
shares for more than a year now and is on the verge of having the magic 30 per cent number that
will require him to make a formal takeover bid.
Thankfully the George Burley reign is over and it is the turn of Craig Levein to lead the Tartan
Army. Levin has signed a two-and-a-half year contract with the Scottish FA that that will put him
in charge of the national team through Euros 2012.
"As a proud Scotland fan, it is a dream come true to take charge of the national team," said the
former Dundee United manager.
According to ESPN Soccernet, Wolverhampton chief executive Jezz
Moxey admitted that the club is looking to sign one or two players in January. Moxey
said,
"... we are looking to see if we can find one or two suitable players to strengthen the squad
when the transfer window re-opens.
