The club has announced that David Beckham will remain with Spurs until the 22nd of February.

The statement reads: "David Beckham has extended his training spell at the club until February 22. The England midfielder will now return to Los Angeles to report for pre-season training with LA Galaxy on February 24.

The Chicago Fire website featured a big story by the Chicago Tribune's Jack McCarty on the recent open try-outs. In the article, McCarty focuses on the two players I thought had the most appeal, Andrew Lichaj and Steve Purdy. Andrew Lichaj is the brother of Aston Villa and USMNT RB Eric Lichaj. Steve Purdy is a goaltender who attended the University of Illinois-Chicago and was rumored to be a target of the Fire's in last year's draft.

The last time the Union met Chicago, Michael Farfan's farfantastic goal from a Kyle Nakazawa free kick was eclipsed only by a Carlos Ruiz wonderstrike for a 2–1 win. Ruiz is now gone and Marfan is the prime candidate to fill in for the suspended Sheanon Williams at right back.

CHICAGO -- Lake Forest, Ill., native and Eclipse Select Soccer Club defender Ginny McGowan has had a busy 2011 on the pitch.
In the spring, McGowan made an immediate impact for Lake Forest High School during her freshman season, helping the Scouts to a sectional title match, earning team MVP honors and was the only freshman to receive special mention on the Chicago Tribune's All-State selections.
