year-old striker Kellen Gulley as a Home Grown Player. Gulley comes from the Chicago Fire Juniors -
Mississippi and becomes the first player from the three Juniors programs based outside of
Chicagoland to sign with the club's first team.
Kabiru Adewunmi was a sophomore at Amundsen High School. He won a spot on the Chicago Fire
Juniors North and moved to the city less than one year ago. According to his coach, Kabiru was an
intelligent, good-natured teen with an easy smile and was already catching the eye of college

D.C. United took the U-15/16 division and the Chicago Fire won the U-17/18 division of the Carolina
Academy Challenge Cup - played in conjunction with a four-team profesional tournament in
Charleston, S.C.

U.S. U-17 MNT head coach Wilmer Cabrera and his staff have finalized the 40-player roster for

Team will be delayed a bit in their trip to England and Italy. With ash from the volcanic eruption
in Iceland closing down most of the air space in Europe, thousands of flights in and out of the
continent have been cancelled.
Before the details, a note this is the broadest group I've seen enter the program in my 9 years
of watching and covering the program. With players from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Nevada,
Coach Brewer appears to have spread his web further than ever. I hope its the final step in getting
them to the MVC Championship, and NCAA Tourney, following the teams stumble in the MVC Tourney the
past two years.
The Chicago Fire Juniors started in 2004 as the official youth club of the Chicago Fire. There
are currently eight branches: Fire Juniors (Naperville), Fire Juniors South, Fire Juniors Northwest
Indiana, Fire Juniors North, Fire Juniors Louisiana, Fire Juniors Florida, Mississippi Fire
Juniors, and West Michigan Fire Juniors.
