The U.S. men's national team faces its first World Cup 2010 rematch on Tuesday against the same
Slovenia side the Americans earned a dramatic 2-2 draw against in World Cup group play.
Jurgen Klinsmann will look to find the right combination of players to help a sagging offense
that has managed just two goals in six matches since he took over as head coach.

Who is not on this list that should be?
Good first half. Familiar lack of finishing. Weak second and predictably punished. The defense did
look better organized (at least until Bocanegra left) though uncomfortable against the quick
counter, something that should have Mexico salivating. Anyway, just a few thoughts...
* Chandler looked really impressive at the problem left back spot.
The Jurgen Klinsmann Era is still fresh and new. He's earned his first win, but the soccer fans
in the United States want to see more than a win against a CONCACAF middle team and a draw against
the best from our region. Tuesday night's game against Ecuador provides a fairly strong test (21st
by SPI).

The U.S. men's national team's 1-0 victory against Honduras had its share of bright spots, but
also some question marks, making Tuesday's friendly against Ecuador a good chance for some players
to redeem themselves, and for some to show their stuff after seeing only limited time on
Saturday.
The U.S. men's national team will field as close to a full strength squad as it has had since
Jurgen Klinsmann took over, leaving what should be some easy decisions when it comes time for him
to pick a lineup for Saturday's match vs. Honduras.
Landon Donovan is the lone regular starter not to make the trip to South Florida, and now
Klinsmann will have some good options as he tries to put together a team to deliver his first win
as U.
Some may get upset by this kind of news, others will likely not care and then there will be a
select group that will be happy with this. LA Galaxy forward/midfielder Landon Donovan said today
that he will skip the upcoming Belgium friendly in Europe to turn to the Galaxy to play in a big
MLS match next week at Kansas City.
Friday night's game for the United States men's national team provides a perfect test for Jurgen
Klinsmann to see what several US players who typically don't get much playing time can do against a
strong Costa Rica side (11pm ET, ESPN2).
The game, which will be played at Home Depot Center, will give Klinsmann a chance to see what
players can do on the international stage such as Jeff Larentowicz, Chris Pontius and Tommy
Chandler.
1. With a new coach in place, there's an awful lot of uncertainty about what's to come. I
think it's best if we just get the obvious, can't-miss prediction out of the way: Our coach will
wear slacks for the first time in nearly five years.
Slacks it was. Klinsmann elected to go with the business-casual, polo-and-slacks
combo.

USA Setup: USA Coach Jurgen Klinnsman set up in a 4-2-3-1 with Michael Bradley as the #10
behind lone striker Edson Buddle. Bradley was not close enough to Buddle, and therefore Edson was
isolated up top. He did however hold up the ball well when given the opportunity, it was just that
his opportunities were few and far between.

and he'll be feeling things out.

After dishing out a tray of morsels last night, it has become clear that I have too many morsels.
I'm hogging morsels. Nobody likes a morsel hoggererer...What USMNT call-ups can I confirm for later

Bedoya, Edu and Jones are in, while I have seen indications that Agudelo is also on the roster for

Thoughts on the United States 4-2 loss to Mexico;
- Cherundolo's early injury hurt the United States much more than anything else in the game. Bob
Bradley had just two options to replace Dolo, Bornstein or Spector. Bornstein as it turns out was
the wrong decision for so many reasons however lets not forget Spector is not exactly a track
star.

The U.S. beat Panama tonight 1-0 to progress to the Gold Cup final this Saturday in Pasadena.
Clint Dempsey was the U.S. goal scoring hero as he got on the end of a Landon Donovan cross in the
77th minute.
U.S. coach Bob Bradley went the same team that started against Jamaica, which meant that Landon
Donovan was once again left on the bench.

The United States gets a chance to avenge its most shocking loss in the history of the Gold Cup
tonight when it takes on Panama at Reliant Stadium in Houston.
Just eleven days removed from the 2-1 defeat the United States are a completely different team,
in terms of attitude and tactics. Bob Bradley made excellent adjustments to his squad for the game
against Jamaica on Sunday, switching to a 4-2-3-1 formation and inserting both Alejandro Bedoya and
Sasha Kljestan in the midfield.
DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD"I've been hung out to dry." - Jack Warner
Yes you have Jack. On a clothesline that you were a chief architect in imagining, building,
stealing from, hiding behind, and using to line your pockets for over two decades.
I love how he hid behind his role as guardian of fellow Caribbean nations only to bully them all
into kowtowing to his every whim.
Today's subs bench has a couple of entertaining names not seen there yet in this tourney. It looks
like 100% Jamaica will see a 4-2-3-1 at the top of the hour.Howard; Cherundolo, Goodson, Bocanegra,

convinced the coach has made the best changes, but by me it seems safe to say they should still win

Tomorrow the US will look rebound from a poor performance that led to the team's first group
stage loss in the history of the Gold Cup as well as the US's first loss ever to Panama. Streaks
like those are bound to break, but the timing could have been better. There are a large number of
scenarios that will lead to the US advancing out of the group stage, but the easiest way is to get
a win against Guadalupe.

1. Bob Bradley will go with a 4-4-2. The forwards will be the same as the Spain game, but
there will be big changes in the midfield and back line. Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, and

I have mixed feelings on the eve of the United States' opening match of the 2011 Gold Cup.
Everything that I was afraid of happening in the Spain match (except injuries) happened, and now
Bob Bradley's team has U.S. fans nervous and somewhat pessimistic the day before they face the 76th
ranked country in the world, according to FIFA and Coca-Cola.
The United States begins their quest to take back the Gold Cup Championship tonight with its
first group stage game against Canada at Ford Field in Detroit. With the drubbing of Spain very
much fresh in the minds of US players and fans the pressure is squarely on Bob Bradley and team to
put forth a good performance and take all three points in this game.
An embarrassing first half followed by a more competitive second with the introductions of Dempsey,
Cherundolo, and Bradley. A few very quick thoughts?
- Bradley is the first choice in central midfield, no question. His partner is open to debate. With
a healthy Holden available, I'd be leaning that way, but of those on offer, I'd probably opt for
Edu at the moment.
Saturday's game proved once again that a determined Spaniard always gets their revenge.
Grant Wahl tweeted before kick-off that Spain was resting so many starters that it was like
going to see the Beatles with Ringo doing all the singing. Well, if Spain was a Ringo-only Beatles,
the US was more like a full strength Rebecca Black.
Clint Dempsey makes it 2-0 in South Africa two years ago.
Update: The US has the following 18 available for today.
(Confirmed by US Soccer)
G: Tim Howard, Hahnemann
DEF: Lichaj, Ream, Goodson, Onyewu, Cherundolo, Spector
MID: Dempsey, Kljestan, Edu, Bradley, Jones, Rogers, Bedoya
STR: Altidore, Wondolowski, Agudelo
Notable: Landon Donovan ruled out with illness.
So much going on this morning... I'm trying to get my thoughts together for my Press-Enterprise

I was originally going to focus on the Gold Cup but there's a lot to get to so I think I'll have my
expanded Gold Cup thoughts right here since I've gotta get them out somewhere and Twitter's
