Guingamp recorded their first league win since 1st December when they defeated FC Metz at the
Roudourou.
Mathis Scores Important Goal
After slipping into the relegation zone last week Guingamp needed to react fast to avoid getting
cast adrift. The win lifts EAG out of the relegation zone on goal difference after Chateauroux lost
3-0 at home to Tours.

Guingamp face will host Ajaccio tonight at the Roudourou, a game that EAG must win if they are
to avoid relegation this season.
A victory will not guarentee survival as it is now out of their hands, an EAG victory and a draw
in the Chateauroux v Strasbourg match will be enough for EAG to survive but if that match find a
winner then a defeat for Vannes against FC Metz is also required.
Via La Pagina (Spanish), François Omam-Biyik, a World Cup hero for his native Cameroon,
played in Mexico during parts of the 1994-99 campaigns.
The striker, known for his aerial prowess, scored the historic header in his country's 1-0 win over
defending title-holder Argentina at the 1990 World Cup.

After the great result against PSG in the Coupe de la Ligue on Wednesday night Guingamp return
to league action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Angers.
The club has been lifted by the great cup results in the last week and hopefully the 'Red and
Blacks' can bring this form back into the league to help pull them away from the bottom of the
table.
Guingamp have now gone four games without scoring a goal and 11 games without a league victory.
Despite the poor result against bottom of the league Bastia, EAG have actually moved up one place
to 17th on goal difference after Chateauroux lost 2-1 away at FC Istres.
In an attempted to become more of a threat in front of goal Victor Zvunka opted for a 4-4-2
formation with Gilmar and Scarpelli leading the attack and Colleau coming into central midfield
in place of Diallo.

Guingamp will welcome FC Metz to the Roudourou this evening in what will be a crucial game in
the teams quest for Ligue 2 survival.
Wiltord: Man to watch tonight
Victor Zvunka's men are on a poor run of form with no win in twelve league games and no goals
their last five league games.
Guingamp were tonight relegated to the French third tier despite defeating Ajaccio 2-1 at the
Roudourou.
EAG knew that they would have to rely on results elsewhere if they were to avoid relegation
tonight. Vannes pulled off a shock 1-0 victory away at FC Metz which meant that EAG needed a draw
in the game between Chateauroux and Strasbourg, however Chateauroux ran out 2-1 winners, a result
that relegated Strasbourg.
