Just a couple of thoughts at the half here. We're scoreless, down a man, and lucky to be on even
terms:
- What the f*** was Segares thinking trying to land an overhand right on a corner-kick scrum? I
admit the run was looking threatening, but it may be time to break out the old 'Gonzo' nickname if
he's going to make brain-dead decisions like that.
Poor old Ilkeston Town. They bit the dust over a debt of just £47,000 and it seems unlikely
that they will be the last to be made to suffer this way. There will be plenty more clubs that find
themselves at the High Court on The Strand in London having hunted down the back of the
metaphorical sofa, gambling the very existence of their institution after having skipped paying one
of their most basic obligations: their tax bill.

I must confess I was a bit premature in the praise for Owen Coyle and an improved Bolton. To be
fair to him, it won't be easy to change the habits of players who have spent their lifetimes
training for a combination of "kick them off the park" and "hoof and chase" football.
Coyle could have shown the right intent with a stronger midfield but the moment I saw his
starting line up it was clear that we are in for another defensive aerial battle and for some brute
force on the ground.
Jamie Redknapp has branded Liverpool striker Fernando Torres' performance against Birmingham City
as "diabolical", while accusing the forward of not being committed to the club's cause.
The Reds favourite has the distinction of being the fastest in the history of the club to have hit
the 50-goal mark, and is widely regarded as being one among the best marksmen in the world.

TTS No. 1: That I was switching around Saturday and missed the moment BOTH coaches got
thrown out of the DC United-Houston contest. That's a moment I want to see! Getting screwed out of
it is like being in the bathroom at the Lakewood Landing when some big-spender buys a round for the
house.
