In just under 24 hours as I write this, at 5 p.m. Monday, MLS rosters will be set in stone for
the rest of the season, until the day after MLS Cup.
Which means, incidentally, the Galaxy will be stuck with $130,000 a year defender Eduardo
Dominguez ("he was all we could afford," one team official allegedly told a colleague of
mine).
Few noticed last week when Juande Ramos called for a shortening of the transfer window, but the
nuclear fallout from Monday's race to the finish seems to support his argument. Prior to Monday,
Robinho had been settling in nicely at for another season at Real Madrid, Kevin Keegan was sorting
out his first proper [.
You guide a team to their best start in the English Premiership for 9 years (granted it is early in
the season) and what do you do... well why not quit the club. When you examine the details though
as explained in this article by ESPN, you can understand why Alan Curbishley resigned from West Ham
United.
Time is running out for MLS teams to make changes to their rosters this season; after 5:00 p.m.,
they will no longer be able to do so until MLS Cup has been played. With today being the 'deadline

showing that there are still teams out there willing to make a move at the last minute.

Eurosport - Dexter happy with lone role
Dexter Blackstock insists he is happy to play the solitary striker role this term if it helps QPR
gain promotion from the Championship. The former Derby and Southampton frontman has ploughed a lone
furrow up front to good effect at times this season, allowing the likes of Emmanuel Ledesma, Daniel
Parejo and Lee Cook to get forward from midfield.
The first managerial departure of the season came today as Alan Curbishley resigned his post as
West Ham manager. Curbishley had been at or near the top of the list of managers speculated to go,
along with Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan, so this bit of news shouldn't come as a surprise to
anyone.
However, the reason for it is very interesting.
The Premiership's 8th-leading goalscorer of all time, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, retired today, and
I'm amazed at how quietly the whole thing has gone down.
The Dutchman is one of two players never to have played in the Eredivisie and still be selected to
Holland's national team, scoring 9 goals in 23 games for the the Oranje.
