If someone runs into Austria's Ivica Vastic, can you tell him to save some of his lifetime supply
of beer for me? Could Luiz Felipe Scolari and Chelsea hijack Manchester City's potential move for
Ronaldinho? The Sun says that the new Chelsea boss and former Brazil head man will contact Ronnie
in the next [.
I'm back to give you another rundown of the latest transfer news and rumors from the world of
football, and while I don't know what Dimitar Berbatov ate for breakfast, I do have plenty else for
you, including a bit about who his current club are set to sign. England The Sun says that Chelsea

Chelsea have signed two star players from multiple-trophy-winning Arsenal LFC. Midfielder Anita
Asante and striker Lianne Sanderson- our top scorer last season- have left us for London rivals
Chelsea.
It's a shock, because players don't just leave Arsenal LFC, and especially not for other teams
in England.
There are a lot of noteworthy names to report on in today's transfer roundup, as a few ongoing
transfer sagas could be set to wrap up soon - or maybe they're just heating up. Is Chelsea coming
in for Ronaldinho at the last minute? Is David Bentley getting the big move that he [...]
Well, we've not only quickly gone through yet another week, but can you believe it's August
already? That means that we're inside the last month of the summer transfer window, and with that
said, quite a lot of deals are getting done, and a lot of money is being spent. Who's doing the
spending, [..
The 28 year old oft injured US international defender may be coming back to America....According to
Soccer Insider Steve Goff:
"Two sources tell me that U.S. defender Cory Gibbs, whose promising career has been
interrupted by injuries, is close to returning to MLS and will be available through an allocation
process in the next couple weeks.
Today's word of the day is contradiction. In the world of speculation, you'll often see one report
say one thing, and another say something completely opposite. That's the case with a few of today's
rumors, which involve a few big names that may or may not be moving. England So, is Gareth Barry [.
Reading decided to offload striker Leroy Lita to Charlton Athletic on loan for a month and for all
those who might still be bemused as to why and how this move came to fruition, here is the reason
from Reading manager Steve Coppell's own mouth: Leroy has been very, very frustrated. He's started
a number of games [.
The transfer sagas are slowly but surely working themselves out. Ronaldinho is set for a new
chapter in his career, and just as he's leaving Barcelona, a new face is headed to the Nou Camp.
That's the highlight of today's roundup, but there's a lot more to talk about as well, from [...]
We all know how good Micah Richards is. The Manchester Citeh ace even made his debut against the
Gunners on 22nd October 2005 as a sub and was given his full debut on February 12, 2006 against
Charlton Athletic.
He played in the majority of Manchester City's matches for the rest of that season, and was named
as the club's Young Player of the Year for the 2005-06 season.
It's the weekend again, but as always, I'm back to give you the latest top headlines from the
transfers world. There is quite a lot to talk about, so before you get on with whatever your plans
are for the weekend, make sure you're up to speed on who's heading where, who might be [...]
In just under 24 hours as I write this, at 5 p.m. Monday, MLS rosters will be set in stone for
the rest of the season, until the day after MLS Cup.
Which means, incidentally, the Galaxy will be stuck with $130,000 a year defender Eduardo
Dominguez ("he was all we could afford," one team official allegedly told a colleague of
mine).
It looks like FC St. Pauli of the German Second Bundeliga is still looking for defensive help since
the anticipated return of US defender Cory Gibbs appears doubtful. St Pauli sports director told
Bild that "I assume he is not now coming." Gibbs, whose contract with Charlton
Athletic (a team for which he never appeared due to injuries) just ran out, had recently been
training with the Hamburg-based side.

Former U.S. national team and FC Dallas defender Cory Gibbs completed a deal to play in MLS on
Friday, a league source confirmed to SBI. What remains to be seen is just which club he will play
for.
Cory Gibbs, the ever injured American center back who signed with MLS yesterday has joined the LA
Galaxy pending a medical examination sources close to the negotiation say. Gibbs was with
Charlton Athletic for two years, but he never made an appearance for them, spending most of his
time on the injury table.

Coventry City have finally gifted the sack to their beleaguered manager Iain Dowie. Coventry are
struggling in 19th place and are just 4 points above the drop zone and the Sky Blues board has
decided that Dowie can no longer save the sinking ship. A statement on the club's website reads as:
Iain Dowie, Tim Flowers(assistant manager) [.

It's pre-season in European Football, with all the big leagues such as the English Premiership, La
Liga and Serie A taking their annual break prior to the new season. Obviously this is the period
where managers throughout the globe really earn their salt, in building, tweaking, or keeping
together squads.
Yesterday Cardiff City announced the signing of an ex-Premiership striker and the future looked
rosy. This morning, it emerges that they have scrapped the deal as the stiker looked elsewhere
before committing to Ninian Park. The Bluebirds had struck a deal with Charlton Athletic to bring
ex-Everton and Blackburn striker Darren .

While there aren't any jaw-dropping ties in the fourth round of the FA Cup, there are definitely a
few ties worth watching. However, we don't know who we'll be watching in many of the ties, as there
are still 12 places yet to be decided by replays that will take place over the next [...]
Although Sky's massively hyped Super Duper Grand Slam Dunking Great Sunday hogged all the headlines
in England over the weekend, elsewhere in the Championship another important game took place
involving two sides desperately trying to make it into the Premiership for next season. In a repeat
of their FA Cup 3rd round clash Charlton Athletic took on West Bromwich Albion at the Valley, as
Alan
Maybe...
According to this report:
His time at Charlton Athletic has been plagued with injuries. His contract ends in June and will
leave the club "in a bid to get his career back on track."
"Gibbs spent last summer training with Major League Soccer side New England Revolution in a
bid to regain and prove his fitness.

Speaking at the UK Union, Unison Conference
Guest speakers - Leroy Rosenior
Leroy Rosenior started his football career at Fulham in 1980, where he quickly became aware of
racism on and off the pitch. In fact, he puts most of the low points in his career down to racial
discrimination in one form or another.
Cory Gibbs and Eddie Lewis, both former MLS players, are coming back to the league. After
Toronto FC used their top allocation spot the LA Galaxy moved to that top position and the Colorado
Rapids have the 2nd spot. So when Cory Gibbs became available the Galaxy had a chance to take him,
but they used the top spot on Eddie Lewis.
For the most part, things went according to plan in the First Round of the Carling Cup, which was
contested over a period of a couple days earlier this week. There were a couple upsets -- League
Two side Rotherham United went to Sheffield Wednesday and bounced the favorite out in a shootout,
and Yeovil Town made a trip to The Valley and beat Charlton Athletic 1-0 -- and some tricky games
for the big boys at this stage of tournament -- Derby County needed extra time to put away Lincoln
City, as did Wolves to overcome Accrington Stanley -- but other than that, the favorites held
serve.
The amount of time left in the transfer window gets shorter, and so do the amount of transfer
tidbits to talk about. Even though there isn't a great deal to report on, you know I'll be here to
deliver it, true, false, or absolutely outlandish. Arsene Wenger has confirmed his interest in
Gareth Barry, but [.
Few noticed last week when Juande Ramos called for a shortening of the transfer window, but the
nuclear fallout from Monday's race to the finish seems to support his argument. Prior to Monday,
Robinho had been settling in nicely at for another season at Real Madrid, Kevin Keegan was sorting
out his first proper [.
You guide a team to their best start in the English Premiership for 9 years (granted it is early in
the season) and what do you do... well why not quit the club. When you examine the details though
as explained in this article by ESPN, you can understand why Alan Curbishley resigned from West Ham
United.
Time is running out for MLS teams to make changes to their rosters this season; after 5:00 p.m.,
they will no longer be able to do so until MLS Cup has been played. With today being the 'deadline
day,' should you expect to hear about any significant trades going down? Probably not, but names
like Hunter Freeman, Abe Thompson and Herculez Gomez have all been on the move in the past week,
showing that there are still teams out there willing to make a move at the last minute.
Zabeel Investments have been interested in investing in a football club for quite some time.
They've spoken to Newcastle United and Manchester City in the past, are negotiating with Charlton
Athletic and now have also spoken to West Ham regarding a possible take over. While West Ham is
arguably a more attractive option compared to Charlton, [.
Momo Sissoko can't be too pleased that his Mali team got dumped out of the African Cup of Nations
in the first round, but I imagine he might be skipping down the streets of Turin pretty shortly, as
his transfer to Juventus has been completed. Sissoko wanted out of Liverpool, and now he's out,

After yesterday's posts, I'm sure you all know how much I hate the "silly season" and how
I can't stand to hear the constant gossip and rumor mill concerning player transfers during the
summer. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean I don't hear or read any of it; it's everywhere and
practically impossible to avoid.
Today's word of the day is contradiction. In the world of speculation, you'll often see one report
say one thing, and another say something completely opposite. That's the case with a few of today's
rumors, which involve a few big names that may or may not be moving. England So, is Gareth Barry [.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we have just signed a 6 foot 3 inch defender who goes by the name of Danny
Shittu. Shittu is a Nigerian center back who has formerly had stints with Charlton Athletic, QPR,
and Watford. He is also capable of scoring once in a while having scored goals for all of his
previous clubs
"Danny's a mountain of a man, he's aggressive, he's quick and his biggest strength is in
the air.
From Stoke City's official site: Charlton Athletic star Amdy Faye has joined the Potters on trial
and could feature in this evening's game against Osasuna. Faye, 31, is a Senegalese international
having represented his country on 18 occasions. The talented midfielder [hahaha] spent part of last
season on loan at Scottish giants Rangers, where he went on to make a number of appearances
Southend United's player of the year last season, Nicky Bailey, has moved to Charlton Athletic in a
deal worth up to £750,000.
The midfielder tied up the deal this afternoon after putting pen-to-paper on a 3-year deal with the
Addicks.
The initial fee is thought to be around £375,000 with add-ons subject to Athletic getting
promoted/Bailey's appearances/goals.
It is 'rumoured' from a friend who knows a friend who is in the know!!!
Nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more that Shaun Wright-Phillips is on his way from Chelsea
to Portsmouth on loan for the season. How can this be you might ask?

QPR Official Site - EXCLUSIVE: BUZ BACK IN TRAINING
Akos Buzsaky has resumed full training and could be in line to make his comeback
in Tuesday's Reserve fixture against Charlton Athletic at Loftus Road.
The Magical Magyar underwent surgery on his left ankle at the start of June, but has responded well
to recent treatment and returned to First Team training earlier this week.
Sunday was the day that the Aston Villa juggernaut was set to send the Premiership in circles by
derailing what is turning out to be one of the most astonishing records in Premiership history.
Instead of ranting about what Chelsea football club have done, this will be a more interactive
