Liverpool new boy Paul Konchesky has revealed that he felt that the chance to move to Anfield from
Fulham was too good to turn down.
The left-back signed a four-year deal for the Reds on transfer deadline day, moving for a reported
£4 million from Craven Cottage.
Now he is targeting trophies as he looks forward to linking up with his former gaffer once again.
Liverpool starlet Jonjo Shelvey has revealed it was a "great honour" to play at Anfield for the
first time in Jamie Carragher's testimonial.
Shelvey, 18, featured as the club celebrated the career of its veteran defender last weekend. While
Carragher can boast a 20-year affiliation with the Reds, the ex-Charlton Athletic man is only just
starting to make his mark since arriving this summer.
"He called me a 'f****** ****' - it was appalling, especially with my grandson sitting next to me,"
Mrs Cox said. "It's terrible to hear such bad language. We sit there, in the family enclosure, so
Luke doesn't have to hear it, but it's even worse because you hear all the players.
Bowyer has gained notoriety for his involvement in a number of unsavoury incidents over the years,
having failed a drugs test for cannabis at Charlton, appeared in court after being charged with
assault - though he was cleared of the charges - during his time with Leeds and fighting with then
Newcastle team-mate Kieron Dyer on the pitch in 2005.
Ahead of our home game with Oldham a fortnight ago, Latics fan Dave Butterworth gave us the

come as a surprise to Oldham fans ?
Before the start of pre-season the answer would have been a definite ‘yes', given that we
haven't changed the squad that failed miserably last season.

to Oggy Land.
Exeter are yet to win this season in the league although they are still undefeated at home with
a couple of draws against Bristol Rovers and Colchester so it's not going to be an easy game.
The first international break of the new season takes place this weekend, and with England playing
on Friday evening fans are being encouraged to attend a local non league game on Saturday
afternoon. People living in the central belt and the north west will be spoilt for choice, but what

Michael Ngoo scored on his debut and Jonjo Shelvey netted a sublime free-kick as the duo helped
England U19s to a 2-0 friendly victory over Slovakia at Crewe Alexandra FC on Thursday night.
Shelvey captained the team and had a superb match in the centre of midfield and defender Andre
Wisdom also made his debut for the U19s.
