Football is a funny game - this is the sport where anything, and I mean
anything, can happen completely out of the blue. For example, no one ever imagined
that Brazilian star Ronaldinho, who was literally unstoppable not too long ago, would suddenly
become as anonymous as he is nowadays.
Manchester United have agreed a fee to sign Charlton Athletic and Ireland u17 international
youngster Sean McGinty.
The Premier League giants have reportedly reached an agreement for a compensation package for the
youngster, and now McGinty looks set to join the youth ranks at Old Trafford.

Transfer campaign has hit the boiling point and many of the players from English lower tiers have
been in the heat over the past couple of days. Let's start chronologically, from our last briefing.
Firstly, Bristol City striker, Steve Brooker, has finally become a Doncaster member and Sean
O'Driscol's wish has finally come true.
10 things I hate about Arsenal
OK, during this International break and before the news of goings on in the Boardroom, I thought
that I would have a light hearted rant. As Arsenal fans we are long suffering and this rant is
mainly aimed at those of us who attend the Emirates. I find myself incredibly frustrated at times
and I thought that I would share these with you.

If ever there was a town made for footy players in the off-season, it's Las Vegas, baby.
This weekend, Manchester United's Wes Brown and Danny Simpson, Jermaine Pennant (Liverpool),
Jonathan Fortune (Charlton), Graham Stack from Plymouth Argyle and Adam Lallana from Southampton
were all doing their thing in the desert.
Another Premier League weekend is now in the books, and with some key match ups and exciting
derbies now past us, here are the things that we learned from this weekend of Premiership
action.
10Boring as Hull. Anyone who watched the Hull City v Portsmouth match on
Saturday will know exactly what I mean.
So it's finally come to an end. The most protracted and annoying transfer saga in Manchester
United history has ended with Cristiano Ronaldo finally getting his wish to look absolutely
fabulous in all white whilst topping up his tan in the Spanish Sun.
Some will inevitably see the deal, and his request for it, as inconclusive proof of their belief
he is an evil, diabolical, ungrateful little grasping greasy foreign **** who should be strung up
and paddled for the sheer gall of wanting to play for anyone but Manchester United.
Fraizer Campbell is the latest in line of the more prominent youngsters deemed not good enough
to make the grade at United. He was sold at £3.5m (which could potentially rise to £6m).
Financially, I think we sold him a bit on the cheap when Hull were prepared to offer up to £7m as
a one time fee.
Bulgarian international insults himself!

Dimitar Berbatov has admitted he failed to live up to what was expected of him in his
first season with Manchester United and that he now recognises the rapid need for change if he is
to prove his worth.
Delight and despair - Lee Hughes celebrates the goal that relegated Charlton (Tom Dulat/Getty)As
relegations go there can't be too many more painful than Charlton's to League One this weekend. 2-0

It is enough to only take a look at the Championship standings bottom, where
the three relegated clubs reside. It hasn't been even five years since Charlton, Southampton and
Norwich were in the Premier League. That clearly points out who the biggest
disappointments in worlds strongest second league are this year.
The Blues are set to snap up a young prospect from their London neighbours, Charlton Athletic, it
seems. Chelsea are set to sign highly-rated Jonjo Selvey, an England youth international, from
Charlton Athletic, according to a report from Sky Sports. The deal would apparently see the player
signing for the Stamford Bridge outfit and then rejoining Athletic [.
Manchester United seniors may have new team-mates but the academy players also have another
team-mate to welcome. 15-year-old Sean McGinty has agreed to join Man United from Charlton...

We're now over halfway through Soccerlens' full season preview ahead of the big League kickoff

Charlton, Norwich and Southampton as well as smaller teams like Yeovil, Exeter and Wycombe.

.With less than a year to go before the 2010 World cup is dictating diaries and breaking up

Harry should make Charlton an offer they can't refuse!
17 year old Jonjo Shelvey may well have signed a new deal at Charlton but If I were Harry
Redknapp I would work out a deal that suits all parties to secure the future of the hugely
impressive teenager.
In much the same way that the Tottenham boss purchased Kyle Walker from Sheffield United and
then loaned him straight back to Bramall Lane, Redknapp should attempt to orchestrate a similar
deal for the Addicks man.
As Chelsea face a long transfer ban for being naughty when buying young players, and other top
clubs prepare to endure similar sanctions, let's look back 10 years to a simpler time.

Sir Alex says everyone is jealous of United.
My selections for last week almost made me a little money, but with accumulators almost is not
enough. Liverpool to beat Burnley, West Brom beat Plymouth and Sunderland beat Hull, but Charlton
(who had a 100% record up until this match) could only manage a draw at home against Southampton.
It wasn't a result anyone [.
Last night we saw the Arsenal past and Arsenal future, with a good stark warning for all of our
youth players who think that they are bigger than the club...
Jerome Thomas of West Bromich Albion began his Arsenal career having joined the Arsenal from his
schoolboy appointment at Luton Town Football Club in 2001.
This weeks lovely girl of the week is birthday girl Debbie Lee Charlton (20 today), just to
confuse matters she's not actually a Charlton fan although they are actually her local team. She
does have very beautiful green eyes though.
Debs did her first shoot with our partners Bliss Photography a few weeks and ago and has been
snapped up to model for a magazine.
Reports over the weekend linked former Boro favourite and now Peterborough forward George Boyd
with a £6m move to Tottenham. Boyd has been arguably the Posh's best player in their first season
in the Championship so far and his recent form is thought to have alerted Premier League clubs to
making an offer.
With Manchester United and Aston Villa joining most of the other Premier League clubs in the fourth
round, the FA Cup draw has cooked up some interesting draws. The pick of the bunch is perhaps the
Merseyside derby. Everton will be making the short trip to Anfield in the fourth round to take on
cross-town rivals Liverpool.
Just when the window opened, some interesting deals have already been made. First of all, we should
point out that teams that didn't do their job right this summer are now in the worst position.
Teams like Blackpool, Norwich or Charlton have all been looking to fill in the squad with loanies
and now, when [.
Way back in the past I had a job that allowed me time to relax and occasionally stick an article
on this site. Sadly that has not been the case for a long time now. However Kigelia is back and
makes even less sense.
My spies in SE7 intercepted a letter this week that was sent to the club. A similar letter was
received by Luton Town officials last week.

‘Learning from Mistakes' was an article headline from last night's match programme, though
it is hard to see what aspects of the football club, if any, this is being applied to at
present.
It certainly does not apply to the football aspect, with Saturday and last night's capitulations
the 12th and 13th time we have surrendered a lead this season.
My father used to travel to Charlton games on the same bus as the players, but these days
footballers are remote from their fans, secure within luxury cars and behind high gates of
exclusive residences. So when one of these demi-gods descends from Mount Olympus to talk to Joe
Public in the street, it makes headlines.
According to Football Spy at the Daily Mirror, Tottenham are looking to sign
17-year-old Charlton midfielder Jonjo Shelvey this summer. The
deal could be worth around £3million.
Tottenham have sent out assistant manager Kevin Bond to check out the young starlet.
A sad day personally for me yesterday, as I watched my team, Norwich City, fall without a whimper
into a League One. And it was painful.Excruciating to bear witness too, I was standing with 3,000
other NCFC fans, as we watched our team capitulate to a side already relegated to League One,
Charlton. We lost 4-2, though that doesn‘t tell the entire story.
It's that time of yearagain, where nerves are shredded, nails are bitten and the relegation
trapdoor gets ever closer.
But for those fans of teams at the bottom of the EPL there is hope.
I had a dig round the archives and have found some examples of teams who looked dead and buried,
but somehow found Premier League salvation.
The decision makers at the Premier League and IMG Media are finally starting to wise up. Classic
Premier League matches and goal highlights are now available on iTunes, but only in the UK iTunes
store, for now.
The deal between the Premier League, IMG Media and Apple means that iTunes users in the United
Kingdom can now download up to 50 Classic Matches from 5 seasons from 2002/03 up to and including
2006/07.

One of the hallmarks of the Invincibles side was the ability to end games in the first half. In
the great unbeaten season, I'd estimate 8-9 games that were over by the 25 minute mark, such was
the explosive nature with which we began games.
Awards on Thursday and Top 10 goals on Friday should wrap up the season review stuff unless
something strikes me. In addition, there may be a review of the CL final tomorrow, depending on
circumstances (yes, you know what I'm implying).
But first, relegation.
I don't know why the idea hadn't struck me sooner, but promotions and relegations affect Liverpool.

television rights for the USMNT and soccer in the US in general and how important this situation
may be historically.

No it's not a trick question and it may not be as easy a conundrum to solve as you may at first
think.
Harry Redknapp is not a Darren Bent fan, he made that clear by stating rather disparigingly that
one of the striker's misses could have been converted by his wife, and who knows maybe he's right
but was he to quick to ostracize the former Charlton man?
Another long running transfer saga is resolved.
Sunderland have completed the club record signing of Tottenham striker Darren Bent on a
four-year contract.
Bent, 25, travelled to the north east on Monday for a medical and has finally signed after the
clubs agreed a fee of £10m, potentially rising up to £16.
