Irina Shayk: Photoshopped or really butt naked?
GQ magazine has hit back after supermodel Irina Shayk – who happens to be the girlfriend of
footy superstar Cristiano Ronaldo – claimed that the Spanish edition of the magazine airbrushed
out underwear to make it look like she posed naked for their December issue.
Some call him a saint. Others consider him a god. But to me all Bono really should be
recognized as is a complete jackass.
Now I have no beef with celebrities giving back to society and helping fight poverty in third
world countries. And to be honest in the modern day it is hard to find many celebrities who
truly do care more about such things then their own tweets and TV spots, but has there ever been
a humanitarian as inhuman as Mr.
The World Cup in 2010 will go down in history for a few things. Vuvuzela's, The first World Cup
in Africa, England's abysmal showing, Germany's bright future, Netherlands awful tactics and the
Spanish proving they are the best side in the world. Yet one other event for me outshone them
all.
With the World Cup in full swing it seems that the football scene on the internet continues to
get better and better. Below is what's going on around the internet that interests us here at
Premiership Talk. If you would like to see something particular included in a future edition, feel
free to send news tips to news[at]premiershiptalk.
Portugal winger Cristiano Ronaldo has clamored for World Cup officials to give skilled players
more protection. Already we've seen four red cards this tournament and some more bone-crunching
tackles, and Ronaldo felt as if he was targeted by a rugged Ivory Coast team yesterday.
"Referees should protect the more skilful players when they are getting fouled by the
opposition," Ronaldo told The Sun.
Yes, we loveee music so when we received a preview to this fantastic
indie World Cup compilation, honestly it was muito legal! Forget Akon
(keep Shakira though), this is the only musical accompaniment to the Copa del
Mundo that you ought to be dancing to every morning.
Premiership Talk is partnering up with adidas to give one lucky Premiership Talk reader the
chance to win the exact and official ball held by Charlize Theron on stage at the
World Cup draw back in December in South Africa. The official World Cup ball from the draw is, of
course, a truly one of a kind prize that we're delighted to be bringing to our readers, and the
ball itself encompasses much of the atmosphere witnessed across South Africa for the greatest
tournament in the world.
Low scoring affairs, a controversial new light ball, and the now infamous vuvuzelas have been
the major talking points of the World Cup thus far. Perhaps the most talked about of all of them,
though, is the vuvuzela, which has affected millions of pairs of ears around the world. The
trumpet-like instruments are a staple of the crowds in South Africa, but broadcasters, players, and
fans have all compared the irritating noise to a swarm of bees.
Asamoah Gyan's 84th minute penalty lifted Ghana to a 1-0 win over Group D rivals Serbia. The win
cements Ghana's spot in history as the Black Stars have now become the first ever African team to
win a World Cup match on African soil. Serbia, meanwhile, were left distraught at the final whistle
as their chances of advancing from Group D are slimmer than ever with a match against Germany still
to be played.
Argentina's attacking midfielder Lionel Messi has praised the efforts of Nigerian goalkeeper
Vincent Enyeama after the Argentines failed to widen the narrow 1-0 gap after Gabriel Heinze's
opening goal. The result strengthened the opinion that Nigeria stands a good chance of progressing
from Group B, while three points for Argentina sets them on their way towards the next round.
Just in time for the World Cup, Havaianas has released an exclusive line of World Cup sandals.
The limited edition sandals are available for select countries in this summer's showcase
tournament. On top of that, the company is putting together a whole host of events for fans in the
New York City area this summer, and their first event for the opening match between South Africa v
Mexico was captured on video and can be seen here.
Much has been said about two things in particular during this World Cup: the vuvuzelas and the
new ball provided by adidas named the Jabulani. While I'm going to refrain from going into the much
debated and highly controversial topic of the vuvuzelas, I cannot help but point out that the World
Cup ball is not as big of an issue as people would like you to believe.
The Dugout is at it again. As we mentioned in an earlier article about the lads over at The
Dugout, they aim to allow people to get inside opinions from former England players and experts
from around the footballing world with real World Cup experience.
Using their Facebook page, The Dugout is hosting an exclusive 'Ask a Pro' event to help fuel
some debate among football fans.

Group H gets underway as two teams that realistically believe they can progress square off. Both
teams will be anxious to get going after watching 28 other teams start their World Cup campaigns,
and it promises to be an interesting North America versus South America clash.
Jamie Carragher came out of international retirement at the request of England boss Fabio
Capello for the World Cup, but the Liverpool defender still believes the UEFA Champions League is a
superior competition when compared to this summer's showcase.
"We talk all the time about whether the World Cup is a step up for us as players but I'm with
what Jose Mourinho said the other day," said Carragher, speaking to The Mirror.
Fulham's heroic manager Roy Hodgson could be on the verge of a switch to Liverpool this summer.
Hodgson has impressed fans and boards alike with his successful rebuilding of a Fulham side that
were threatened by relegation just a few years ago, and with former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez
now at Inter Milan it could open the door for a move for Hodgson.
According to the Daily Star, Jose Mourinho and Real Madrid are set to launch
sensational bids for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney and Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard.
Rooney has been a long time target for the La Liga giants, and Los Blancos believe that Cristiano
Ronaldo is sufficient bait for the United star.
England striker Emile Heskey has publicly called for another start along with Wayne Rooney in
England's front line. The Aston Villa player had England's only assist of the night during their
opening match against the United States as he found Steven Gerrard in the box, and he is convinced
that given another chance with Wayne Rooney they can improve further.
Earlier in the week Franz Beckenbauer hit out at England by claiming that they are a "long ball"
team. The comment comes after England faced a disappointing 1-1 draw against the United States
after failing to link up in the middle of the field, and the German legend's own nation trounced
Australia 4-0 in scintillating fashion.
South Africa manager Carlos Alberto Parreira has rubbished claims that the adidas Jabulani ball
and vuvuzelas are ruining the World Cup. Parreira went as far to say that his side actually enjoys
the two as they are a taste of the local culture.
"We love both. We love the vuvuzelas, it's part of our culture and we are used to them, we
should keep going with them," said the South Africa manager.
At the beginning of the World Cup we announced the exciting news that Premiership Talk has
partnered with adidas to exclusively give away the official World Cup Jabulani ball held on stage
by Charlize Theron during the Group Stage Draw. All good things must come to an end, and today is
the very last day to enter the competition before a winner is chosen at
random.
On yesterday at the Port of Los Angeles, the Annenburg Foundation unveiled a life size model of
PITCH: AFRICA. PITCH:AFRICA is the first ever water harvesting and filtering soccer space. Designed
by Atopia Research the goal is to bring clean water to regions of Africa where the resource is
scarce. In tropical regions of the content, rainy season can yield up to five feet of water.

Who likes swapping gender roles? If that means being tied to a chair while a fine assed, ninja
sword-wielding Charlize Theron comes to save me then I'm down. Just be gentle Charlize (with me,
not the ninjas).
Cristiano Ronaldo's WAG, Irina Shayk, matched her nails and lips to the scarlet-hued press line
carpet as she put the paps in their place during her walk along the Charlize Theron African
Outreach Project's press line. Security was probably on a smoke break as she (and camera-starved
friend/fellow model Jessica White) slipped inside The Darby in New York City to rub elbows with the
likes of Liv Tyler, John Hamm and Charlize herself.
