Our good friend and Miami Ultra Robert Scorca went over the team sites for all the members of the
NASL and here is what he found:
Minnesota Thunder has not had a news update since Oct. 15th before the news of NASL broke out.
Atlanta Silverbacks and St. Louis Soccer United have updates mentioning that 7 teams are part of
the new league.
Miami FC was able to overcome a 1-0 deficit at half time and defeated Lynch's FC by scoring 2 goals
in 1 minute.
Lynch's drew first blood at the 35th minute off of a penalty that left the crowd gathered at
Tropical Park silent. As half time came and went things looked bleak for the Blues until a
confusing play that looked like a penalty in favor of Miami FC led to the first goal by Paulo
Araujo at the 64th minute.

Everyone be sure to let the good people at the USL and USLLive.com know how much we appreciate them
broadcasting all the U.S. Open Cup matches that possibly can. I know there are many MLS fans that
are excited about being able to see their clubs play as well...
...and of course, every soccer fan should be ecstatic to be able to watch the Portland v.
Some people might complain that sport ticket prices in this town are expensive. In Baseball they
can range from $315 to $12-$16 for upper nose bleed. For American Football it's even worse $41.00
to $700.00! Not to mention parking! But when you talk about Football Soccer then you really can't
complain.
I'm delighted to offer a great report from Head Coach Eddie Horn, Jeff City Jays, on a Youth
Development program trip he was able to take earlier this year to West Ham United. Sponsored by
Umbro, he's documented the trip for us via a Q&A format with his close friend Terry Michler, Head
Coach of the CBC Cadets in St Louis.
It's that time folks. Time to take the coolers out, buy some Hotdiggity dogs, some meat and bust
out that old trusty grill and head out to Lockhart Stadium as South Florida's own Miami FC "Blues"
gets ready to de-rail the visiting Carolina Railchickens! Yes, it's this Saturday, May 16, 2009 at
8 pm.
Your US Open Cup final will be played in Washington between DC United and the Seattle Sounders.
Seattle is mad because it draws well and feels like it should have gotten the final, and seemingly
is implying that DC United receives preferential treatment from the USSF. DCU is offended and feels
that they made a better financial offer to USSF.
The Blues season will end on a disappointing note as they are out of any playoff hopes. A loss and
a tie is all they could come up with on their 2 game road trip. Miami Ultras and a few staff met at
Fritz & Franz Bierhaus in Coral Gables on Friday night to watch the Charleston Battery vs our Miami
FC Blues in a match that was a must win.
Hola South Florida Futbol Fans and peoples of the worlds! (Especialy all the hot mamacitas!)

summer transfer window.

For once the US Open Cup is getting it's just due for some hype going into tonight's final. It
sure didn't hurt that two of the league's best PR teams are in the final. DC United has done it's
best hyping the match against expansion side Seattle Sounders FC. Oh and there's been a fun back
and forth thing between the club's front offices.
In the wake of the on-going USL soap opera that has been unfolding since summer, the Charleston
Battery announced their intentions to relegate themselves to the USL Second Division for the
upcoming 2010 season.
The Battery was never a member of the Team Owners Association, and in fact at one point was the
only member of the USL First Division that wasn't, and apparently no longer saw playing in what is
shaping up to be a fractured First Division as a financially viable option.
The Rochester Raging Rhinos ended Miami FC's winning streak with a 2-1 victory at Lockhart Stadium.
I wasn't able to attend this game but knowing Leo Inacio was hurt and seeing Diego Serna getting a
Red vs Montreal it was apparent this was going to be an up hill battle. South Florida fans can rest
assured we have a team that is still up in the standings and will have both players ready for the
next game Saturday May 2 against the Charleston Battery at Lockhart Stadium.
Hola Miami Fans, and especially all the hot mamacitas out there! Burrito here reportings all things
Miami FC to the worlds. (Click on highlighted words if you don't know the meaning of the word)
Today Burritos report is brought to you by Star Trek ! (Not really) But the new movie is coming out
this Fridays so go see it with your carnales or a hot chula con chasis aerodynamico!

The Third Half is back with it's second episode. Today we speak with Jason Longshore, director of
football operations with Atlanta FC before their match with the Charleston Battery in the US Open
Cup. The conversation then transitions to my thoughts on the US National Team from last week's
qualifiers.
The Dynamo defeated the Austin Aztex last night 2-0 to advance to the quarterfinal round of the
U.S. Open Cup Tournament. The roster was dominated by seldom used players; Tally Hall, Julius
James, John Michael Hayden, Erik Ustruck, Danny Cruz, Ade Akinbiyi. Despite the roster overhaul,
the Orange still managed to post two goals.
(Weekend Quiz is coming soon, after I fill up on creativity and caffeine. Promise.) I know you're
wondering how the third round came out in my Best US Tournament Nobody Pays Attention To, the Lamar
Hunt US Open Cup. Remember how I said that Round 3 is the first round that MLS is [...]

The selection of soccer matches to watch is about to start growing as more leagues begin to kick
off in Europe.
The German and French leagues begin play this week, while Manchester United and Chelsea play the
first game of the year among EPL teams in the Community Shield.
There is also plenty of MLS action, as well as the much-anticipated DC United-Real Madrid
friendly.
Attention Miami Soccer Fans! Watch Party time!
As stated on MiamiSoccerFan.com:
"Miami FC will be featured on Fox Soccer Channel one last time this season, Friday at 8
pm. Charleston Battery will host the Blues in a must win for Miami.
Our playoff hopes may be over, but there is still pride to play for.

USL First Division Team of the Week:
Goalkeeper Hunter Gilstrap was named Week Five USL First Division Player of the
Week after his 11 save performance May 9, in a 0-0 draw with the Portland Timbers.
The Colorado Rapids have loaned midfielder Ciaran O'Brien to the Austin Aztex for the remainder
of the 2009 season, the club announced.
O'Brien joins the USL First Division side, and he will be available for its game Saturday night
against the Charleston Battery.
"I think this is a wonderful opportunity for him to get games, to further his development and
really to play in what is most important in front of a crowd and for points," Rapids coach Gary
Smith told the Rapids Undercurrent.

CHICAGO (July 1, 2009) — The third round of the 2009 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup kicked off

CHICAGO (July 2, 2009) — The third round of the 2009 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup wrapped up
Wednesday night with matches in Austin, Texas, and Portland, Ore. While Tuesday night had seen four
of six MLS teams tossed from the tournament with losses to lower division teams, Wednesday saw
balance restored in the form of victories for the Seattle Sounders and Houston Dynamo.
Just got word that the USSF has released the dates and locations of the next round of the 2009
US Open Cup along with the possible semi-final pairings.

Four MLS and four USL teams will combine for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals, with
two USL-2 sides looking to go glory hunting into the semifinals.
In the only all-MLS tie, Kansas City Wizards are travelling to the Starfire Sports Complex in
Tukwila, WA to take on Seattle Sounders FC.
The third round of U.S. Open Cup play saw three Major League Soccer teams upset by clubs from
the United Soccer Leagues: MLS Cup holders Houston Dynamo succumbed to the Charleston Battery,
Chivas USA were routed by the Seattle Sounders and the New York Red Bulls even managed to lose to a
USL-2 side, Crystal Palace Baltimore.

Alecko Eskandarian wasted no time making an impact with his new club and the result is another
Galaxy win and another LA move up the SBI MLS Power Rankings.
Sunday, September 6, 2009 –CHARLESTON, SC
The Minnesota Thunder defeated the Charleston Battery 3-1 at
a rain soaked Blackbaud Stadium on Sunday.
Charleston's Randi Patterson tallied the only Battery goal of the night 19 minutes into the
match.
So the news came down today that the TOA league would be dubbed the new North American Soccer
League. Yes the return of the NASL is possibly more about the name than the actual league here. The
TOA group went for name recognition right away with this choice.
The league has nine clubs now that Tampa and Baltimore have jumped ship and they could look to
add a tenth with the possibility of Rochester leaving the USL after 2010.
Before I give some post-match thoughts, I have to once again tip my hat to Claudio, Luke, and all
of our front office staff for getting the stream working. Over the past two seasons, the Carolina
Challenge Cup has been a pre-season highlight for us supporters, giving us the opportunity to see
our team play ahead of the season.

frameborder="0" height="289"/iframebr /br /Rohan Ricketts takes us on a on a tour of the infamous
Three Lions, the pub-cum-soccer museum at Charleston Battery's Blackbaud Stadium. Quite the
collection they've got there.
The Austin Aztex return home to Nelson Field tonight, Sunday May 24, at 6:00 to face the league
leaders Carolina Railhawks.
The Railhawks are perched at the top of the table, tied for 1st with the Charleston Battery; both
teams have 16 points from 8 games. The Railhawks are 5-2-1, coming off a 3-0 win over Cleveland
City Stars on Friday night in Cleveland (match report / box score).
The Islanders waited till the last second in stoppage time to spoil Charleston's undefeated
record... but they did it!
John Krause scored the only game of the match with only a few seconds left in stoppage time as
the Islanders defeated the Charleston Battery 1-0 at Juan Ramón
Loubriel, in Bayamón.
For the second time in three nights the Puerto Rico Islanders defeated the Charleton Battery
1-0.
Nicholas Addlery scored the game winner on the 54′. It's Addlery's 4th goal this season.
Fabrice Noël got the assist. It was Bill Gaudette's third clean sheet this season.
The Islanders now have 25 points this season and took over the top spot of the USL standings,
relegating the Charleston Battery and the Carolina Railhawks to a 2nd place tie with 24 points.
