Overall Outlook - It's hard to know what to expect from Wigan's roster shuffling thus far. More
importantly, the question is whether that shuffling - specifically the "headed out the door" part
is yet complete for the summer. There have been persistent rumors that either N'Zogbia or
Rodallega will be departing for clubs farther up the table.
Charles 'don't call me Insomnia' N'Zogbia for Captain?
A
very very

midweek Fantasy Premier League preview, but I'll give you a taste of my thinking and hope it goes a
long way to inspire some decision making on your part.

After some interesting results it seems Manchester City were the big winners in Week 8. Their
three-two victory over Blackpool was a cracker of a match and allowed Citeh to close the
gap that Chelsea opened in the early weeks of the season. Everton's systematic win over a hapless
Liverpool saw them bound up the table, while Bolton Wanderers moved up to seventh place.
1. Arsene Wenger must be sick of late goals at the DW Stadium. 2. It's a good job Paul Konchesky
was subbed off last night or Liverpool fans would have had nothing to cheer at all. 3. Charles

Familiar scenes at DW
Not quite the result that Arsenal were looking for but hardly the same as last season's
shambles. Wigan gave their best and were rewarded as hesitant display from our defence afforded the
home side a reprieve with a draw. Arsene Wenger made 8 changes to the side that faced Chelsea, all
of which totally understandable given the 48 hours gap in between the 2 games.
Hey, remember me?

I feel the need to recover from this incredible weekend for quite some time, only I won't be
able to. There's simply never enough time in one's life to live and breath and follow this game we
love yet still attempt to lead some form of normal adult life.
The mind boggles!

To paraphrase a certain (former) female blogger around these parts when discussing the follies of
Diego Maradona on many (many) occasions, "he was mentally unprepared for his talents". Most modern
footballers could probably fit into this category, particularly as the game gets younger and
younger, which means stardom comes sooner and sooner.

Wigan Athletic's Charlez N'Zogbia couldn't contain his delight following the news that he has
been called up by France manager Laurent Blanc. N'Zogbia has never appeared for France, but after
the suspension of all 23 of France's World Cup stars it has allowed a chance for some of the
nation's fringe players.
Did I not just report on this? Oh, yes. My apologies to West Bromwich Athletic.
"Carlo Ancelotti's team delivered a frightening statement about the faultline that runs so
starkly through the Premier League. On one side of it is Chelsea, as strong at the back as they are
potent at the front.
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has blasted the transfer tactics of Premier League rivals
Birmingham City after the Blue submitted a fresh bid for Charles N'Zogbia. The midfielder is highly
acclaimed by Birmingham boss Alex McLeish, but the Blues submitted a lower bid for the player than
they did just months ago, insulting Martinez.
