Fernando Torres, the man that put the "phroar" in freckles, turned 26 this weekend. In honour of
the sexy Spaniard's big day, let's all take a moment to reflect on what colour highlights we prefer
with our Nando. We call these, "sunshine dreams". Happy birthday, Fern, and here's wishing you a
fantabulous year full of good hair days and epic bitchfaces.
At half-time at the Manchester United Liverpool game on Sunday, Aon (United's new shirt
sponsors) will be hosting a charity event on the pitch.
Five children from the Manchester United Soccer Schools will each take one shot at a goal from a
place on the pitch between the penalty spot and the six-yard box (there will be a hole in the "o"
in an Aon banner at the East stand goal for them to shoot through).
On Sunday evening, Arsenal boys past and present (Titi was there!) came out in force for the SOS
children's charity event at Claridges in London.
The event was organised by ABC a consortium made up of Aimee Van Ommen (Verma's
girlfriend), Bouchra Van Persie (Robin's wifey) and Carla Dona
Garcia (Cesc's long time gal) in association with SOS in order to raise money for their orphanages
in Zambia.
Two members of Seattle Sounders FC have organized a charity event to benefit the people of Haiti
who were devastated by a powerful 7.0 earthquake last week. Winger Steve Zakuani and defender James
Riley will be signing autographs and taking pictures at the George & Dragon Pub this coming
Saturday, with all proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders Emergency Relief.
Last Sunday Kenny Mathews from the Times Picayune wrote a great piece in his column about the
charity event my company and I sponsored; Jed Zayner's Filleo Project: New Orleans.

Thanks for the great coverage Kenny, I appreciate it!
So, yeah. Our obsession with Cesc Fabregas is back and it's raging harder than a WAG with bad
credit at a Cricket sale.
We felt it was important to let you know that.
Anyhoo, a few folks from the footy world joined the glitterati in London to walk the catwalk for
Naomi Campbell last night.

Southend's Moonlight Colourthon - a major charity event with our community at its heart - is back
for 2010, bigger and better than ever before, and we're proud to say Longpier.com is an official
partner.
Walking the half-marathon distance around Chalkwell, Westcliff, Leigh and Southend streets this
year will be popular Olympic swimmer and star of ‘Strictly Come Dancing', Mark Foster and star of
Channel 4's popular TV quiz show, Countdown, Rachel Riley.
... apparently, Athletic Bilbao will.
The Spanish side took on 200 hyperactive children right after completing a rather decent season
finishing seven points above Atletico Madrid at 8th position on the table. It is kind of hard to
imagine how it would be like to play any football at all with 200 children running around the
field!
Designer David Watson of design studio Trebleseven has created the poster to support Soccer
Aid.
The idea is simple: sales of the A1 double sided poster raises money for Soccer Aid - a British
charity event which raises money for UNICEF.
The front side of the poster (below) lists all the groups, A-H so you can clearly see which
countries are in which group.
A couple of weeks ago I gave readers of RoM the opportunity to pose questions for an Aon
representative. Whilst wanting to get in to the nitty gritty, I was also mindful that any sponsor
will be wary of what they can say about our owners. The fans want the Glazers out of the club and
have made the club sponsors a target for boycott, putting pressure on them to pull out of deals
with Manchester United, to encourage the Glazers to go, or face the negative reactions from reds
towards them.
Steve Nash's annual Showdown in Chinatown is tomorrow at Sara D. Roosevelt Park in NYC and guess
what player is the first to have his name leaked out as a participant? Yeah, this guy. How do I
know? Because this other guy asked and that guy answered. I know some people have very strong
opinions of this guy but all I am going to say is that if you are heading out there tomorrow night
please bear in mind that this is a charity event.
Barra Brava and Screaming Eagles face off in second annual charity match Tickets for the charity
event cost $10 and are available both at the gate and online.
The much-anticipated return of the Supporters' Charity Shield match between Barra Brava FC and
Screaming Eagles FC will be held this Saturday, August 21 on the RFK Auxiliary Field.
Manchester United's new shirt sponsors, Aon, will be hosting a charity event at half-time this
weekend against Liverpool. There will be an Aon sign in front of the goal with a hole in place of
the 'O'. Kids from United's soccer school will get a chance to score and £2k will be donated to
the Manchester United Foundation for every goal scored.

In case you missed it, the Sons of Ben are hosting a charity event to Help Kick Hunger. They've
raised a lot of money and collected a lot of food in the past to help out some people in need, so
if you can, get involved. Here's the info. Philadelphia Union players will be at the Dec.
Harry Kewell's pit stains encouraged Aussie kids to get active with Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect. Bet
that's more than you can say for your weekend. Image: iTWire.
