Where Manchester United found the time in their hectic EPL campaign to allow four key players to
kick footballs into a van, we have no clue. But they did, and the faces of the Kenyan kids who
eventually received those balls gave us almost as much pleasure as Nani's did when he realised he
was getting out-tricked by a guy he believed to be a van driver.
Shay and Jane Given held their annual charity extravaganza at the Lancashire County Cricket Club
last night. As in previous years, the event featured a fashion show by Selfridges, a performance by
Westlife, a silent auction with fab prizes and a top meal.
Next year we'll take our champagne budget for the month of April and go all in for a table.
FYI, Kickettes a few of our staffers are making the trip up to Manchester for tonight's derby,
which means fact/spell-checked stories and drunk tweeting can not be guaranteed.
Otherwise, how's Monday going over thus far for you?
Saturday
- Jermain Defoe is allegedly back to his old ways, stepping out with some girl who isn't his
current steady, Alexandra Burke.

Sad news was revealed late this evening regarding Leicester City's Paul Gallagher and his
wife, Hayley's newborn twins. Unfortunately the couple lost their son, Luca James, while his twin
sister, Ava Amelie, was reportedly under careful watch at an undisclosed special care hospital
unit.

acid washed ones? Image: Clint Hughes/Getty Images Europe.

Earlier today David Villa presented the eighth edition of the book "Relatos Solidarios" a
compilation of short stories written by 42 journos with Villa contributing as well. The book was
dedicated to Dani Montesinos, a journalist who tragically died in an accident but was
represented in spirit by his parents, widow and brother (L-R, above) at Thursday's launch.

There was a pool party at Eric Abidal's house over the weekend, but we rescinded our RSVP after
learning clothing was not optional.
Weekend went well for the rest of our Kickette Army we hope?
Saturday
- Sepp Blatter danced at a press conference.
We've never been so offended by the colour navy in our lives.
Here's Raul during the launch of the campaign "Football against Hunger" in Brussels lsat week.

This lady is employing a classic Kickette distraction technique. Watch and learn, everybody, as
she casually points to a random object in the middle distance, waits until her mark (in this case,
the deliciously dressed and entirely unsuspecting Raul) is sufficiently engaged and then pounces,
hurling him to the ground and doing what we all would, given this level of access.
Oh Niko. You tousled literary conundrum, you. Images via premierleague.com.
EPL footballers are currently involved in a scheme intended to improve literacy levels and
encourage people in the UK to read more books.
Please. It's not that funny.
It's actually pretty cool. Each EPL club nominates a player as their representative on the
scheme and that player then selects his favourite books (one children's book, one grown-up book)
and they are added to a list of recommendations.

It's never a good time for a wife and girlfriend jealously break, per say, but take a reprieve
from our usual raucous raciness we shall anyway.
C'mon and join us. It'll be fun.
Nemanja & Ana Vidic
Following in the steps of his Manchester United team-mate, Rio Ferdinand, and his wife, Rebecca,
Nemanja and Ana Vidic were asked to join Wythenshawe Hospital in South Manchester's staff re-open
their newly renovated maternity ward last Friday.

Spurs midfielder Tom Huddlestone has had a lot of time on his hands since his ongoing ankle
injury started acting up again. But don't be thinking he's wasting it playing FIFA, pimping out his
wheels and falling out of clubs like most footballers do.

"Size has never been a problem for me."
Er... we beg to differ, Fabio. You may claim not to remember the Photoshop D&G re-touch
incident of 2006, but it is scorched into our frontal lobes to the extent that we can call it to
mind on closed eyes command.

Even in our semi-permanent drunken states, we still get the warm fuzzies when we see 'ballers
making rounds at their local children's hospitals to pass out gifts and meet the little ones. In
Spain, teams will typically do this anytime between Christmas Eve and Three Kings Day (6th of
January).

Manchester United hosted their annual United for Unicef charity gala at Old Trafford last night.
Any guesses as to what has got the Da Silva twins cracking up? They're laughing with us not at us
since we still can't tell them apart, right? Or is it because we're going to call them Fabael until
they start wearing name tags?

Ashley Cole, Jermain Defoe, Carlton Cole, Dion Dublin and Ian Walker were among players who
appeared at the London Soccer Dome last night in support of the England Footballers Foundation's
inaugral 'EFF Charity Cup'.
The retired Manchester United player and his wife attended the Keith Duffy Ball at The Ritz Hotel
in Ireland last night. Hubba hubba, Mrs Scholes!

Lucas, we realise that your hair situ wasn't (and shouldn't have been) uppermost in your mind
while you were visiting a soccer club for under-10′s in flood-hit Bangkok. For that reason, we're
not going to give you a hard time.
But you do seem to be sporting a bit of a combover there.
Rafa Marquez and his gorgeous wife Jaydy Michel (she's even more stunning in person, trust us)
attended a charity gala which benefitted Casita Maria, a center of arts and education for
underprivileged youth. The event, seen by some as the unofficial 'kick off' to the New York Social
season, was hosted by the zippy stylist, Robert Verdi, at famed NYC hotel, the Mandarin
Oriental.

John Carew has never been one to loll on the sidelines of snappy and stylish clothing choices.
Not when cutoff denim and Fendi murses exist.
So while it's hard for us to guesstimate when Carew ditched this maven of mismatchiness for yet
another round of lust/love with socialite Hofit Golan, we realise it's unequivocally impossible
for this footballer (and others out there like him) to be out of our league.
Steven Gerrard and Stewart Downing visited Knowsley Safari Park last week. The trip, which was
organised in association with the England Footballers foundation, was an opportunity for leukaemia
sufferers Thomas McManaman, five, and Joel Hemans, nine, to meet their Liverpool heroes and spend
a bit of time chatting with the residents of the park.

Bangs. Some wear them well, while we haven't worn them since since the early 90′s. Shakira's,
on the other hand, managed to perform quite an impressive disappearing act in Rio de janeiro,
Brazil over the weekend.
The Colombian singer along with Brazilian TV hostess Xuxa paid a special visit to a social
program for poor children last Friday afternoon, in an effort to promote universal primary
education.

Our weekends were filled with Iker in tight pants-greatness, thank you for asking. How 'bout
yourselves, Kickettes?
Saturday
- John and Toni Terry attended the 'Fashion for Good' charity event at Brooklands Hotel just
at the beginning of the weekend.

Sometimes we think the MLS has pulled a NOTW and wire tapped our HQ's phones because
their events align themselves perfectly with our foul-minded office convos.

Apparently, 28,00o Danish women suffer domestic violence at the hands of their partners a
staggering statistic that Simon Kjaer, Daniel Agger and Thomas Sorensen have made a focal point in
the above video, which was produced to draw attention and awareness to the issue.
Iker Casillas, how we love thee and thee's charity work. You made many campers happy this past
Monday when you visited them (and your hometown) in Navalcruz, which is just one of the million
reasons why you'll always be our number #1 'baller of choice.
Except when David Beckham finally comes to his senses and accepts our sleepover invitation.

Asking us to 'do something' to David Beckham feels like a trick question.
Probably because it is, but play along as you wish, people.

As any faithful Kickette knows, if you invite us to an event that centres around alcohol
consumption, we'll be the first ones to show. And if we can drunkenly empty our wallets for charity
instead of those ill-advised 2 AM curry fries, all the better.

While many 'ballers choose to work on their tans all summer, Fernando Llorente took time out to
travel to India with Save the Children and do charity work. All together now: awwww.
After a cricket lesson with Michael Robinson, host of Spanish show 'Informe Robinson,' Llorente
headed over to the slums to check out the great services which are offered via mobile clinics and
said this trip gave him a new outlook on life and that he truly enjoyed the warm hospitality of the
Indian people.

Yes, unfortunately we said "tee off" and not "ripped their t-shirts off," but one day they will.
We can feel it. Perhaps even at our own outing next year? We've already established a tournament
name (the '1st Annual Kickette Charity Golf Tournament'), ground rules for players (all male
participants must play shirtless) and which charity we'd sponsor (proceeds would be generously
donated to our booze and handbag fund).
A big thanks to choreagrapher/dancer, Ján Ďurovčík, for exposing our favourite inked-up
Liverpool defender this past Saturday during a charity match in Trencin. In case you weren't
already aware, Skrtel's 'turtle' has been getting its fair share of action as of late. Most notably
with his girlfriend Barbara, who is expecting the couple's first child in October (it's a boy, as
they previously confirmed).
Jane Given looked gorgeous in a dress from Victoria Beckham's Fall 2010 collection. Unfortunately
it was the MVP dress of the night as we spotted two other women in it. The horror!
Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given and his wife Jane hosted their annual Fashion Kicks
charity event in Manchester Sunday night.
Thanks Qassim for the tip!
Salomon Kalou's nekkid body has been plastered all over our computer screens once we discovered
his nude spread in the June issue of Cosmospolitan UK (to support the Everyman charity).
In the feature which includes a wealth of scantily-clad guys that you should check out Kalou
weighed in on the never-ending sex v.
Reality called us this weekend, but we sent him straight to voice mail. We definitely had better
things to do, like collect the three convertible bra straps that we hung on our neighborhood pub's
walls, which was our drunk membranes' unsuccessful attempt at telling the 'last call' minder to go
kick rocks.
Samuel Eto'o, his wife Georgette and their daughters Maelle and Siena arrive at their charity gala
in Milan, Thursday 17th March. Work that sequined lapel, Sam. Images: Getty/Daylife.
What's that you say? Photos of 'ballers in suits and tuxedos are the only thing that will get
you through until the glorious stroke of 5 PM rolls on and the first alcoholic beverage of the
weekend is permitted to satiate your exhausted palate?
