The English celebrates a team victory during the Soccer Aid charity match that was held at the
Wembley Stadium in London, England. They were part of an all-star celebrity line-up at Wembley who
beat a Rest of the World team led by superstar chef Gordon Ramsay for Soccer Aid. Read more about

It would appear all is not well at Liverpool. Defender Jamie Carragher has revealed in his new book
, Carra : My Autobiography, how he truly feels about the club's American owners Tom Hicks and
George Gillett and as you will see in a moment, it's not very complimentary.
The former England international has many harsh words to say about Hicks and Gillett throughout the
book.
OPERATION: Andy's Gift is a project the Stewart family of the Triangle Area is organizing to
provide children in Afghanistan with new soccer balls and equipment. This project started out of a
simple request from USAF Captain Andrew Stewart who is serving his third tour in the Middle East.
This mission was derived out of Andy's love of sports and the fact that he is a father to two young
children.

Superlambananas sold at auction: "About £550,000 has been raised from the auction of 70
of Liverpool's superlambananas at St George's Hall.
Three of them were sold for more than £20,000 and 12 went for more than £10,000 each.
A large proportion of the money - about £400,000 - is going to the Lord Mayor's charities.
The Carolina RailHawks and XIOS restaurant, on Highway 55 in Apex, have partnered to raise money
and awareness for childrens cancer. XIOS will be hosting a St. Baldricks event on Saturday,
September 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Steven Curfman, Ryan Solle, Caleb Norkus and Nathan Zuzga
will all shave their heads for charity and help raise awareness for childhood cancer research.
