Local charities to benefit from David Beckham book (From Preston and Leyland Citizen)

mayor's charities are to benefit from sales of the book David Beckham-In at The Deep End, by
Preston author, Andrew Atkinson.The book follows Beckham during his time on loan at Preston from
Manchester United in 1995 and chronicles the England and LA Galaxy star's time at
Deepdale.
A number of famous names from years gone by at White Hart Lane are set to descend on Barrows Farm
for a charity match. Organised to mark the 20th anniversary of local side St Germaine, the game

Superlambananas sold at auction: "About £550,000 has been raised from the auction of 70
of Liverpool's superlambananas at St George's Hall.
Three of them were sold for more than £20,000 and 12 went for more than £10,000 each.
A large proportion of the money - about £400,000 - is going to the Lord Mayor's charities.
