Almost exactly a year to the day, Torino have announced that they plan to honour the victims of the Chapecoense plane crash during their Serie A fixture this coming weekend.

Some 71 people lost their lives when Chape's team plane went down in the hills outside Medellin, Colombia on 28th November, 2016, leaving just six survivors.

Jackson Follman was one of just six survivors of the devastating air crash that claimed the lives of 71 people when a plane flying the Chapecoense first team into Medellin airport went down in the rural hills outside the Colombian city.

The Brazilian club was near-decimated, but immediately came fighting back from the brink, fulfilling (and winning) aCopa Libertadores fixture just three months later with two of the survivors defender Neto and winger Alan Ruschel – named in the match-day squad.

Dreadful news is emanating from Colombia this morning that aplane carrying Brazilian team Chapecoense crashed overnight while en route to Medellin airport, killing almost everybody on board.

Colombian police have sinceconfirmed that from a total of 81, only five people survived the crash, which happened in the mountainous area of La Union, around 20 miles from the airport.
