Eden Hazard, one of the most desirable transfer targets in world football at the moment, says he
is not moving this January. Definitively. Moving this coming summer, however? That's on fo sho. To
England? Why yes, actually.
Excuse me while I shit my pants with potential excitement.
Seeking a new challenge in the summer
Hazard spoke to Canal+ today and shed some light on his current situation.
The Portland Timbers took to the field for their second practice of 2012 today. At Jeld-Wen it
was rainy and cold and perfect for football. Lucky for those of us in attendance, we were able to
join the players out in the Oregon weather and observe practice.
Drills focused on basic fitness and regaining the touch lost in the soccer-less off season.
"Behind you Andy! Oh... never mind."A little bit of a shocker out of TFC's
pre-pre-season today as the club confirmed that both Andy Iro and Peri Marosevic will not return to
The Reds in 2012. "Both Andy and Peri declined our contract extension offers and now the club is
ready to move on," were the words from the Dutch Master Aron Winter who is no doubt ready to
welcome new recruits to fill their roles.
His team is getting a divorce and so is his wife. The might Los Angeles Lakers are in transition
and so is Kobe Bryant's personal life.
The Lakers could be supplanted by the Los Angeles Clippers this season for best team in Hollywood.
Everybody who comments, be it in print or on the radio or on television, makes mistakes. It
doesn't matter who you are or how much you know or just what the subject is: Sooner or later you
will slip up. And so I don't want to seem to be going after some poor talking head, some
exceptionally easy target, just for the sake of it.
Pardon my French.
With less than a day until the Montreal Impact make their selections in the Major League Soccer
Expansion Draft, the predictions on who will be packing their bags for Quebec are coming from all
over so I thought I would toss my hat into the ring.
As the quality on MLS rosters continues to grow year after year, the league's new teams find
themselves with a wealth of options from which to build their team.
Joe Cole has admitted that he would be willing to consider a permanent switch to Lille when his
loan spell comes to an end.
The midfielder will see out the season with the reigning French champions after falling out of
favour at Liverpool.
A change of scenery has helped to breathe new life into Cole's career after he stagnated somewhat
at Anfield.
The Red Bulls Need to Cut Their Losses on MarquezWhen news broke following the Real Salt
Lake home match that Rafa Marquez had made disparaging comments about the play of his teammates -
Tim Ream in particular - there were some fans who were quick to jump to the Mexican's defense. Ream
did have an awful game, they argued, and Rafa was only stating an uncomfortable truth: the Rookie
of the Year candidate we saw last year has been nowhere to be found since this summer's Gold Cup
fiasco.
This weekend's penultimate Houston Dynamo home match at Robertson Stadium is a fairly simple
affair. Houston must control the suddenly dangerous Dominic Oduro and the rest of the improving
Chicago Fire or their playoff hopes will take a serious realism torpedo.
DC United's 3-2 loss to the Philadelphia Union last night helped but they still have games in
hand on the Dynamo so with only three matches, a total of nine possible points, on the table, it's
get points or get golfing for Houston.
Midfielder Joe Cole is looking forward to a fresh challenge after joining French champions Lille on
a season-long loan deal from Liverpool.
The England international completed the move on transfer deadline day to end a summer of
speculation over his future.
The 29-year-old had failed to establish himself at Anfield since arriving on a free transfer last
summer and had fallen well down manager Kenny Dalglish's pecking order.
Following his move to Sunderland, John O'Shea has spoken to The Irish Times about his
time at Manchester United.
Did you leave United because you were looking for a change of scenery?
"No. I always said that the manager would come and tell me what games I'd be able to get and
different things.
There are different ways of interprating the latest comments of Barcelona's new signing Cesc
Fabregas, even if they might just be more of the usual rhetoric churned out for interviews, people
can reveal a lot when not on their guard.
Fabregas spoke of his joy at re-joining his boyhood club, and says he will relish the strong
competition for places in the star-studded lineup of the European Champions.
When the Chicago Cubs signed Kosuke Fukudome out of Japan, they had huge hopes for him. As it
turns out, Kosuke Fukudome disappointed. However, the 34-year-old outfielder will now get a new
start. On Thursday, Kosuke Fukudome was traded to the Cleveland Indians for a pair of minor
leaguers.
Kosuke Fukudome is hitting .
While rumours are gathering pace over a bid from Spurs for Roma's Mirko Vucinic, a new target
has emerged today in the shape of Hamburg striker Paulo Guerrero.
Earlier in the week, the Peruvian forward made one of those obscure comments that the press like
to jump on from time to time,
"I am on holiday and it is a fact that I am still under contract at Hamburg," he told the German
press.

After a two-month slump caused by a combination of injuries, international absences and
inconsistent play, a nearly 100 percent New York Red Bulls squad reminded MLS just how lethal it
can be Wednesday, dismantling Toronto FC for a 5-0 win.
Hold on to your valuables, it's time for a ride on the wild speculation roller coaster.
I was reading the latest post on the New York Times Goal Blog that discusses what the future
looks like for US Men's National Team coach Bob Bradley. The most interesting part for me was the
e-mail response Sunil Gulati gave to the authors when they asked him about Coach Sweatpants'
future.
It was a change of scenery for the U.S. U-20 MNT today as the group that played most of last
night's game went through a regeneration session and the reserves played some small-sided games at
a local school pretty close to the hotel. The campus of the school was beautiful - very serene, and
there was a regular-sized field and a small field tucked at the bottom of a hill, surrounded by
trees and mountains.
According to Daniel Taylor at the Guardian, Manchester United winger
Nani is unsure about his future with the club. It is reported that Nani has spoken
to his family and agent about the possibility of playing in the Serie A. While the
24-year-old is happy at the club, he may be looking for a change of scenery this summer or the
following one.
Today there was a bit of a change of scenery for training ... Instead of taking the nine players
who didn't start to our usual training field, we made our own at the hotel.
With the volleyball court already mapped out, it was a perfect size for the guys to get in some
touches on the ball and then play some soccer tennis at the net.
Arsenal vs Wolves
Arsenal return to action after the international matches in midweek with the visit of
Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Emirates, a match that Gunners fans are expecting to win.
Johan Djourou has been passed fit and will be available against for the match on Saturday.

With January here, the winter transfer season is upon us and while the moves of big European
stars will rule the headlines, there are a bunch of American players in dire need of loans or
transfers this month.
You know it's not an ideal trend.
