It looks like Oguchi Onyewu will spend at least another half season at Standard Liege after the transfer period came and went without any deal being made. It seems the board at Standard would rather keep him onboard to help the team to another title and to see how far they can advance in the UEFA Cup now that they have been knocked out of the Champion's League. The Demize had a difficult season, as measured by their 0-16 result. There were 8 goals scored, 48 surrendered. Tough numbers to reflect on but only part of the story of the team and the season.

Someone told me that they considered Marta to be "the best women's soccer player ever". I disagree, but not because I think it's impossible for her to one day make a solid claim to that title.
