West Ham co-chairman David Gold has played down suggestions Joe Cole could make a 'romantic' return
to Upton Park this summer.
Liverpool midfielder Cole's future looks set to be discussed again this summer following the end of
a season-long loan at French club Lille.
The 30-year-old insists he has unfinished business at Anfield amid speculation linking him with a

Here we are people, a little later than planned but we got here all the same.
Despite the desperate clamour from what appeared to be all quarters for the FA to give their top
job to English football's preeminent trucker tanned chirruping Coken Ey sparrah, it would appear
that Roy Hodgson is their first choice to take the England job so much so, in fact, that they're
interviewing him/have interviewed him at Wembley this very day.
Roy Hodgson is poised to become England manager and pip the people's choice
Harry
Redknapp.
The Football Association has broken its silence almost three months after clumsily parting
ways with Fabio Capello, who left England with a win rate of 66.7% - the best in its history.
Roy Hodgson is on the verge of becoming England's new manager. His current employers, West Brom,
have given the FA permission to make an official approach, with private talks between Hodgson and
the FA having already taken place behind the scenes. In other words, he definitely wants it, the FA
definitely want him and West [.
Liverpool is giving Fox Soccer in the U.S., unprecedented behind-the-scenes access for a
six-episode documentary series.
Fox said on Thursday that "Our Liverpool: Never Walk Alone" will air this fall in the U.S. and
likely will be shown on networks around the world.
"I come from a background where the more supporters get to know the inside workings of the club
the more they are interested in the club itself," said Liverpool chairman Tom Werner, also chairman
of the Boston Red Sox.
Liverpool will be allowing unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to U.S.-based Fox Soccer
Channel to film a six-part documentary series. "Our Liverpool: Never Walk Alone" will document the
club's FA Cup final against Chelsea in May, as well as their preseason tour of North America in
July.
Soccerex, the global business network for the football industry, held its annual conference in
the North of England last week, affording retired footballers the chance to say hello and exchange
man hugs (see: Patrick Vieira and Steffen Freund, at left), executives time to try out the latest
and greatest gadgets and gizmos (see: Arsenal's Vice Chairman, David Dein, above) and charities
booth space to drum up interest in their fundraising pursuits (see: Shay and Jane Given,

Former England captain Terry Butcher has already labelled it a farce, the rest of us, tired of the
false dawns, over-inflated egos and annuals disappointment of anything to do with the England team,
are waiting for it to descend into one.
More conflicting messages are leaking from out of the FA as they continue their hunt for Fabio
Capello's successor.
After Fabio Capello's resignation from the England managers job last month, England are still
without a manager as Stuart Pearce takes part time charge of the squad in the run up to Euro 2012
and the FA have insisted that no approaches have yet been made to any potential candidates to
become the next England coach.

Fabio Capello resigns as England manager but who will replace him? - The 90th Minute Soccer
Blog
England currently has no manager as Fabio Capello recently resigned. It was pretty clear Capello
would be out after the upcoming Euro 2012 and his resignation was a surprise. The problem between
Capello and the English Football Association was over John Terry.
Their Words "Now, I've been in football for nearly 20 years and I have a good understanding of
relationships with Managers. I do agree that the Manager is the most important person in a football
club or an organisation like this, but there are moments when the Board and the Chairman have to
step up to the plate when strong leadership is required.
England's Euro 2012 plans have been thrown into disarray after Fabio Capello stepped down as
national team manager.
Capello's resignation came after he publicly disagreed with the Football Association's decision to
strip John Terry of the England captaincy.
He spoke out against the FA on Italian state broadcaster RAI on Sunday and resigned after a meeting
with the FA on Wednesday.

You turn you're back for one second and what happens? Just three months and three friendly games
before Euro 2012 gets under way in June, Fabio Capello resigned as England manager last night
after spending the afternoon bickering with FA chairman David Bernstein and general secretary Alex
Horne at Wembley over his comments made to the Italian media vis-a-vis the FA's premature decision
to strip John Terry of the national captaincy.
One of the disadvantages of working a paying job whilst trying to build a readership on your own
blog is that sometimes we get blindsided by events that need immediate reporting such as we saw
today in London as England manager Fabio Capello resigned his position immediately following a
meeting with FA Chairman David Bernstein.
After the FA decided to strip John Terry of the England captaincy for the second time in two
years over a charge for which he has not yet been tried, Fabio Capello has decided that he's had
enough of being disrespected and undermined and resigned from his position. With Euro 2012 mere
months away, FA chairman David Bernstein must find a suitable replacement to lead England out of
the current cycles of scandals and disappointment.
I wrote yesterday that Fabio Capello And FA were set for a fireworks meeting today with neither
site apparently ready to concede ground over John Terry.
Well after meeting today, it became apparent that the two sides could no longer work together
and the FA has announced that Fabio Capello has stepped down as England manager.

So, Fabio Capello quits as the England national coach. This is, perhaps, unsurprising
considering the dog's abuse that he has taken while leading the national team through an almost
flawless qualification campaign, before finding that the decision over who would take the England
captain's arm-band was taken away from him without consultation.
Fabio Capello will not lead England to this summer's European Championship after resigning from his
post as manager. The Italian's resignation comes following crunch talks with the FA over his
outspoken criticism of the decision to strip John Terry of the England captaincy before his trial
for allegedly racially abusing Anton Ferdinand.
The 2012 European Championship commences exactly four months from today, and England is looking
for a new manager.
In a monumental development, Fabio Capello resigned from the helm of the English national team
on Wednedsay. Capello had been public in his defense of John Terry after the FA stripped the
Chelsea centerback of his international captaincy amid his involvement in a racial abuse
scandal.
There's something beautifully eerie about Arsenal's Emirates stadium when it experiences a night
of snowfall. It almost looks like a scene out of the Twilight Zone and the colour
of the sky just takes you to a different place. What are these goose pimples? Bring back
November, please!
Today (Wednesday) the FA and Fabio Capello are expected to meet over the John Terry situation,
and it appears that neither side is willing to concede anything to the other.
Capello will be asked by Football Association chairman David Bernstein to explain why he
committed a serious breach of FA protocol in his explosive Italian television interview on
Sunday.
By JOHN BOSCHINI
The English FA will meet with national team manager Fabio Capello after rising tensions over the
dismissal of John Terry as captain threatens to fracture an already tenuous relationship between
the two sides.
Capello has been very outspoken in his disagreement with the FA's decision to strip Terry of the
captain's armband after the defender's racism trial was delayed until July.
Their is a lot of uncertainity over who will be the next England Captain after John Terry was
sensationally axed from the position last week. Favourites for the job United's Rio Ferdinand ruled
himself out of the running while Man City's Joe Hart has down played his chances of replacing
Terry.
Lightning, it appears, does strike twice. Two years to the day after Fabio Capello stripped John
Terry of the England captaincy, the FA through its chairman, David Bernstein, made the same
decision in far more controversial and emotive circumstances...

It's like deja vu, all over again John Terry was ditched as England captain this morning. 'Sources
close to the Chelsea captain' said he was stripped of the armband metaphorically, alas at 10am
during a phone call from FA chairman David Bernstein. The decision was made because Terry is due to
stand trial [.
It's being reported that John Terry will be stripped of the England captaincy over a charge
for which he has not yet been tried for the second time in two years. The following is a transcript
of Terry's latest visit with FA chairman David Bernstein and England manager Fabio
Capello.
Bernstein: John, I'll make this brief.
Liverpool will seek urgent talks with the Football Association chairman, David Bernstein, to demand
reform of the disciplinary procedures that led to the suspension of Luis Suárez.
Although the Merseyside club has now accepted the eight-game ban, their anger at the guilty verdict
has not diminished and the means by which the punishment was reached remains a matter of dispute.

It is clearly evident that during recent months the red and white armoury has come under intense
pressure, with many even questioning whether "Arsene Wenger is the right man for Arsenal Football
Club?".
A few years ago such a question would have been responded with laughter, yet today critics and
many Arsenal fans find themselves pondering on the very thought of Arsenals greatest manager being
replaced.
By Walter Broeckx There has been a little debate going on about the refs in the media. And I was

Northern Irish minnows Limavady United have offered a quick solution to the spat between Carlos

Arsenal's former vice-chairman David Dein insists Arsene Wenger remains the best man to lead the
Gunners, despite six seasons without a trophy at the Emirates Stadium.
Dein has remained in close contact with Wenger since leaving Arsenal after the pair spent 11
largely successful years working together.
