Clubs can protect 11 players ahead of the 10-round draft for the Montreal Impact, which will
join MLS next year.
A team can only lose one player.
Wonder if Impact Coach Jesse Marsch will take a player from his most recent former club, Chivas
USA? Will he bring home Canadian Ante Jazic, a solid addition to any expansion team's backline?

Jeez, get a roomThere are still a few negative types out there in North American
football who claim that David Beckham's five-year affair with Major League Soccer was a failure.
Long before he raised the MLS Cup last night - this simply wasn't the case. Did he play his best
football with LA Galaxy, far from it.

The forecast cold front has yet to move into the South Bay here in Carson.
Real Salt Lake awaits the winner of this series that the Galaxy lead from a Mike Magee goal in
the 15th minute of last Sunday's game.
If the score is tied at the end of regulation, we'll have 30 minutes of OT, followed by PK's if
the score is still tied.
One of these two teams will meet Houston at MLS Cup in Carson after the Dynamo, who lost MLS
assist leader Brad Davis to a first half injury, beat Sporting Kansas City 2-0 earier this
afternoon in the Eastern Conference Final.
It's a cool, but dry evening at Home Depot Center as the Galaxy host this fixture for a third
consecutive year.
A little wrong...and very wrong. (Remember, we're all about accountability to predictions

The Los Angeles Galaxy (4 to 1) was one of TSG's odds-on favorites to win the MLS Cup. They

I know I pick on Chad Barrett of LA a lot. Have done so for years.

There it is. For 5 years we have been yearning for it. For 5 years David Beckham has been
reaching for it. This weekend, it is finally and definitively within our grasp. We have a very real
chance of taking home the MLS Cup. I don't know about you, but I'm excited.
The only really significant news I've heard in the lead up is the injury to Chad Barrett, which
will keep him out of the cup.

CARSON, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Galaxy may boast a star-studded lineup, but it's who is not
going to be on the field that may prove the difference for the Galaxy come MLS Cup.
Looking back over the course of Bruce Arena's tenure with the LA Galaxy, it's hard to argue with
the stellar success of his teams. While many will argue that his achievements are tempered by the
fact that he was able to go out and buy new, multi-million dollar players as needed, it can be said
that he's done the opposite outside of his designated players.
Different angle for a TSG preview here.
Today, we publish a discussion with Sporting KC assistant coach John Pascarella. Pascarella is
responsible for much of the technical preparation and tactical work for the Livestronglies. He and
head coach Peter Vermes played club ball together and KC front office media man Josh Wisenhunt
comments Pascarella is revered by the team, especially goalkeeper Jimmy Neilsen (Pascarella has a
big hand in training the goalkeepers during practice.
In case you guys didn't see it, yesterday was SB Nation's mock Expansion Draft. Some of you will
also notice some, er, confusion on our part from the draft. Essentially Jake Gleeson was picked
when I meant for him to be protected. What happened was I made a late addition and the SBN editors
wouldn't allow such a late change.

Robbie Keane is looking is to cap off one of the best weeks of his career with a championship.
Keane led Ireland qualify for their first appearance at the European Championships on Tuesday
with a convincing playoff victory over Estonia. Now, the Irish striker will look to cap off his
impressive week with an MLS Cup title when his Los Angeles Galaxy take on the Houston Dynamo on
Sunday.
The Los Angeles Galaxy beat the Houston Dynamo 1-0 to win the 2011 MLS Cup. In a match touted as
David Beckham's final MLS match, neither side made a terribly compelling case for a title match
victory during a mostly dull 90 minutes, the hyperbolic ESPN commentary notwithstanding. In the end
the match was won on a single goal from Landon Donovan late in the second half, securing the final
result nearly everyone expected.
Are the 2011 L.A. Galaxy the best team in the history of MLS?
Is David Beckham's MLS career over?
Those seem to be the questions everyone's contemplating after last night's 1-0 MLS Cup victory.
(Along with this lesser one: Did you ever think a player could be so awful that you'd pine for Chad
Barrett?
